Post Match Discussion - Semi Final
DEE fence replied to Wollongong Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I want another Hawks supporter to tell me how how we voted to merge, my reply, you keep focusing on history, I have a game next week. -
Brayshaw - Brave beyond belief ANB - Human hunting dog Lord Nev - Shall not pass
-
So no change - I have to say VDB disposal gives me nightmares, but his pressure is huge, am feeling very sorry for some of our fringe players right now.
-
Can anyone tell me different but I thought Tyson was off the ball playing a defensive role, I didn't see him roll through the middle for any bounce. And we shut down quite a few Hawks players. Burgoyne was exploited tonight, Smith was MIA except for one great cameo that didn't mean anything.

Tell me WCE are not $hitting themselves, best travelling team is coming to them with nothing to lose and that loves their shape of ground. Perth will be quiet after 2 x 90k crowds. -

I need a bigger bath... Still angry about the umpires. Huge love for the team, nothing was given for free, those blokes have earned it. Votes are super hard. Loved Nev/Hibbered/Frost/Omac, our defence tonight was huge. and Tmac/Weid ice water in their veins. -
Hibberds best game in yonks, Petracca killing me, Umps terrible, Hawks fighting hard. No effin idea who is going to win.
-
Petracca has really driven me mad with his kicks into 50. Hawks playing really well but it is our stupid mistakes giving them possession. Can't call it at the moment. I am really pi$$Ed at the umpires, two different rules on HTB at the moment. DOUBLE WEEDS PAY!!!
-
Bloody credit to Tom though, he's not sooking about the attention.
-
So BS on Nev, they haven't paid three against the Hawks for HTB/Dragging it in, in our fwd 50, Nev already high in D'Land year votes for that hit on Mitchell

I try and use Hertz when I travel, and I get my share of New Balance apparel (but not shoes - rusted onto Asics), but using China Southern - still working upto that.
-
Best mullet in the game since Dunstall and Dermie, Stratton is a huge loss, and my hawks mates are getting on Melb 38+, after hearing about JO'M... Same Hawk mate gave me 2 awesome tickets P22 row A as he will be golfing away. Being in Eutope i made some younger brothers happy. He even promised me his GF ticket should we make it that far, so am hoping he's made a good punt.

Vanders has an excellent sense of timing for his body pressure, have been pleasantly surprised how few frees he gives away, (I love Bernie, but he has been a tad slow and more likely to give a free away in the same type of play). I think Smith would merde himself a bit, AVB for the job. -
@goodoil Appreciate the respectful tone you take with ANB, but can't agree, watching the tape, he motors to contest to contest, created chopouts and options with his running when the ball carrier was under pressure, laid some huge tackles and seemed to be at every contest providing pressure. Easily top 10 players on the night because he played his role perfectly. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets 4 goals next week, I know there is a goal scorer waiting to break out (again). I also mark him a little easier for his clangers, because he does huge work to get to all the contests it does depreciate the motor skills a bit when you are beyond exhausted, I also see this improving as he goes on and becomes ore adept at dealing with the lactic acid during skill execution.

@Thehardtackler What we served up to Geelong is tough, hard and fair footy, Nev standing in front of Selwood and stopping him cold. I honestly think Greene should get lateral force to his knee and spend 12 months in rehab, it is that much of a dog act what he does.

Really good laugh at this ?, Dieter myself and Pro all liking the same post, Gold!.

Love it, Is there a high res version of this anyone please? would appreciate it - [email protected], I think it's time to update some wallpapers.

Rewatched the game, (3rd time), ANB for sure a 7.

Demonland Player of the Year - Elimination Final
DEE fence replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6, Brayshaw 5, Weiderman 4, Jetta 3, Harmes 2, Salem 1, Frost lots of apologies - really hard to split -
Hey WJ, long time since NY, why not give the radio producer a call, they are great at that sort of thing.
-
I have been having some banter with a Cats coterie member (and former board member), who btw was more than happy when bomber left. Anyway has no confidence in them winning, said he hopes we win the flag. Personally I'd rather build up Selwood/Danger/Ablett/Hawkins, it makes us look better when we win. And I ave so many Geelong supporting mates (and a few cousins from the maternal side of the family), can't hate them, jealous yes, but they are not Essendon/Collingwood/Adelaide/WCE/Hawks. Even Scott who I view as a hypocrite of the highest order, I still respect, he has amazing record coaching that compares well (except his finals record which is approaching Hardwick 2013-2016 levels ) But - if they do have blokes targeting Max's back or legs (Mitchell style) Lewis has my full permission to run through and KO any snipers.

Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?

I believe (I also hope like hell Collingwood wins week one) -

Now more than ever, and I thought this after trying to rate 1-22, it truly is about playing your role, I know that sounds like a terrible cliche made for TV, but every name you think of, you think of some 'mission critical' function you want the player to perform, and the consequence of that not happening. It makes the idea of top 6 and bottom 6 a little redundant from how the team will go overall, because if the bottom 6 do the role designed for them (I don't think anyone is being gifted a game) then we will win, but we also need the top 6 and middle 6 to do their bit as well. The days of a few individuals putting 'the team on the back' I think, while still possible are far less likely. Therefore @Pennant St Dee and @layzie are not so far from it, the idea of ANB with his hard running pressure (team role) breaking the game open. @Yung Blood I based it on current season, with a feel for recent form, as much as Petracca has improved the last few weeks, I am probably marking him a little harder after rating him on potential for so long. Re Jones, yes an argument could be made for 10-15, I am personally finding it hard to rate him correctly. I think he is a senior player and does provide leadership, however a few have gone past him and calculating the intangibles is hard. I also rate his ability very highly to kick Captains goals, more than one his running has put him in position to slot a high pressure kick and the way it lifts the team is a pleasure to behold. Out of the other players you mention, Garlett, Hunt could be best 22 if they wanted to be (over Hannan/JKH), their form drop off is the disappointment of 2018. Lever is top 10 (VDB would give way) and Stretch (after that teasing cameo before injury) could have an argument for knocking Spargo out (I think 2019 will see even more heat for places) I can only see Vince getting back in with serious injuries that I do not wish to happen. are depth, ranking 25 to 29i.e. Wagner, Kent, Joel Smith, Pederson, Bugg (had hoped he'd get back).
