Glad to see we have added to your enjoyment TBF. A joke or two is always a necessarity I hope we have a small amount of success to discuss in 2014 mate.

Amen to that Deeoldfart. I swear that Demonland has kept me going the last three years without you all ( even the ones who don't like me ) I am confident I would have packed it in. Staying the distance has been very hard the last three years. Probably the toughest period in the last 49 years. Thanks to the guys who keep Demonland alive. I really appreciate it.

Probably partly because I think he is off to GWS anyway jr. Perhaps I am trying to justify his moving on but I don't think he is the reason the Hawks got there and I reckon they will play in the GF 2014 without him.

depositive you need both. No coach can turn plodders into grand finalists. Did Malthouse turn Carlton into a G finalists over night? Please don't raise Port they started with a decent player base. Roos may be able to improve the our team marginally but without a big improvement in skill we will continue to bump along the bottom.

Two things I notice yesterday about the Hawks group. - You don't need a great Ruckman to win a GF . - Buddy was less than a match winner, I know he soaked up a defender all day, but IMO the Hawks can win another flag without him. In fact they might be better served by having his salary space to recruit players.

Sorry to be too critical HFF but Dees supporters have been saying that for numerous players for half a century now. If you cannot get on the park then you cannot contribute. Now I am not saying he was not trying. But players who are injury prone are not much use if we are going to improve. If he follows the path of 2013 in 2014 I will be grading him a flop. Like about 15 others, 2014 will determine his worth.

I beg to differ dee man, Sellar was out of contract and Pedersen has two more years. IMO that is 75% of the reason he is still on our list. I have said this before but when his highlights reel was one game for North I was worried.

Don't disagree with you but I would add that I hate the way the MFC plays. Any way that gets us to a GF is fine with me. Playing ugly and winning sure beats playing ugly and losing every week.

So what I have gleamed from this tread this morning is that the problem is not that we are poor kicks. It is that we are a crappy team with Poor players. Now there is surprise. Leaving the jokes aside. We have a few players who are poor kicks, the rest is IMO a large number who are just not AFL quality players. Low skill levels in a number of areas . Replace them with better players is the only way forward. Takes a long time but it has taken us a decade to get down to 2013 and IMO five to get back to a Finals playing quality side.

At least he help his team get there Robbie which is more than can be said for this lot $cully (1), Trengove (2), Gysberts (11) and Tapscott (18). Two of them will never get there and another is doubtful.

Not me Robbie they are what we should have been for the last 49 years. Alas we have been run by very ordinary operators for 40 of those years. Hawthorn are the objective for the MFC IMO.

Were a happy team at HAWTHORN. This team is what I want the Dees to be in 2018. I enjoyed that almost as much as if it was the Dees. Go Hawks

Maldonboy I think you are being a bit unkind to 7 We were crap most of the time Robbie played and they only televised two games a weekend in those days. So we did not feature in the two best games of the round at all most years. Most other supporters have little idea who good he was because the only saw him occasionally . A lot of those years I went to see R Flower the MFC was running a bad second.
