Garlett is the type of player that won’t build form at Casey. Needs to be in the action. If he lays tackles, pressures and snags one or two then his job is done. Everything else is a bonus.

Let’s hope Bayley is immune to the glowing media curse. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/fritsch-pickings-from-unwanted-to-surprise-packet-20180706-p4zpwt.html

There is a good chance 5 of our threatening rivals could go down. Cats, Hawks, Crows, Giants and Bombers. The horse has bolted for us in the top four. Better if the current top four keep winning. I don’t think Port or North will slip up against easy beats like us. A win is a non negotiable for us as is a bit of luck around the grounds.

At least there won’t be many boos from the Darwin crowd if we lose. The half dozen angry Dees supporters will be drowned out by the cheers for Freo.
-
If that happens, with the current state of recycling your glass will likely end up in landfill along with our finals chances.

We don’t play effing sports science. We were even shagged out after the hot Alice game and Adelaide have been crap after that game too. Jones even admitted we were buggered by the heat. Footy is a winter game to be played in winter conditions and not in the equatorial tropics unless acclimatised. These games are an effing disaster for us.
-
We lost the following two games badly though. We were then shagged out and lethargic for the remainder of the season .

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
John Crow Batty replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Since we only play one way we don’t need a set of goal posts to defend. -
Watching the NT games on TV, the loudest cheers are always for the opposition. In case of a WA or SA team it sound just like home ground support for them.
-
The self satisfied comments from Jones after the bulldogs game and saying the players were looking forward to a rest after 6 wins on the trot says it all. Sunday might be the ideal time to start thinking about being out of the country in September

How Lever's absence is hurting the Demons
John Crow Batty replied to SFebes's topic in Melbourne Demons
Poor form from some key forwards and poor forward/mid defensive play has nothing to do with Lever’s absence. We are still getting the ball inside 50 in vast numbers and letting it get out too quickly thus putting any defence under severe pressure when the ball is coming out. -
Very talented player in a great and powerful side. But if he played in a weak side I doubt if he would have reached the heights he did and would be quickly forgotten.
-
Could say the same about Omac. Has been lost since being concussed against the filth.
-
On current form and on the past two seasons post Darwin form, predictions of only two more wins looks very sound. Too bad we are not allowed to concede, but resting up to 10 players for Darwin looks like a viable but insanely gutsy strategy for the big picture if we could get away with it.
-
Last season the post Darwin shockers were delayed for when we played North in Tassie two weeks later and also the following week against GWS. Then we were flat for the remainder of the season. We might be better off not turning up and conceding the Darwin game. Better for our finals chances.

Freo are sure to play McCarthy. Has a better chance of regaining form against us rather in than the WAFL. Every spud forward now dreams to play against us. We gifted McCartin his best ever game as we did to Mason Cox. Since QB Cox has only kicked 2 goals from 16 possesions in his two games after his big bag. Turning spuds into silk purses albeit temporarily.

Omac hasn’t been the same since being concussed against the pies. Was always solid up till then.

This AFL caper just seems too hard for this mob. Only comfortable with a JLT length season. Blow the opposition away with 3 goals in ten minutes then cruise control for the remainder. Where are the leaders? Why I am I seeing carbon copies of our worst games last season reprised? This game was the replica of the GWS game last season. Will be interesting to see what round 23 turns up if we haven’t blown our season already. And if we get done in by Freo next week I will not be surprised.

We didn’t drink our own bathwater says Gawn. Too bad there isn’t a breathalyser test for it. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/we-didn-t-drink-our-own-bathwater-gawn-20180702-p4zp0f.html

Calm and reason won’t change anything. Rage can smash things and kick the cat.
-
Passionate supporters or armchair experts don’t change anything. We played like shyte. That we can all agree on.

Sounds like wiseguy is his speech writer.

They put themselves on pedestals and like the sound of their own Fugazi. Best way for them to handle defeat is to shame others. Makes them feel superior.

We are on current form one of the three worst clubs ATM. WC aren’t going well but have big injury excuses. The Suns are pathetic but at least had a go in the last half against the pies. We are adrift without a rudder. Everyone else is playing to their abilities.
