Lucky for that. Goodes cleaned him up last year in our 73 point win.
Well, considering Morton didn't really have the physical strength to match Goodes in a marking contest, 26 touches and 4 goals vs 23 touches and 1 goal is a good job from Morton, IMO.

Spot on, good post.
There's too much MFCSS around here.

Yep, it's tomorrow.

QUESTION:
How many games did we win last year in the pre-season???
Two less than this year.
People forget quickly.
-
How has this thread become four pages long?
Watts can't learn anything from playing with Brendan Fevola.

...davey has been a consistent performer for so long now. rarely plays a bad game. Plus when melb has been getting flogged he has always put in a strong performance.
Disagree.
It seems like when Davey gets tagged and only racks up 5-10 touches, we get flogged. It shows his value to the team, but we need him to shrug the tag and be consistent.
He'll win the Bluey the year he does that.

You wish. Cam Bruce will be in HFC top 5 in their best and fairest. Maybe the difference b/w them winning a flag and not. One of the cheapest quality recruits of all time.
Bruce will be a gun this year, but he still won't get any better at handballing

The point is that considering there's no way to actually get these players to compete in a 10 team league, Supercoach s as close as we're going to get.
And injuries are bad luck and will happen to everybody, some worse than others. It happens in the AFL as well.
Anyway, I'm computer savvy, so it didn't take too long. Most of my time was spent on Facebook.

Anyway, while you're on the site, I recommend those Supercoach previews

Double post...
Here's a little bit of the fixture. Each of those zeroes redirects to...
...this. The weekly scores are added up here in different sheets (R1, R2, R3 etc.) and the formulas shown in the top of the first image grab that and put it in the fixture.
Finally, the ladder. It says #DIV/0! because there's no scores in yet
I should give this to my IT teacher for bonus marks...somewhere.

Nice work eth. Would it be difficult to run both systems. Ie. DA's team v team and an overall points system? My understanding is that both require the same info (points per player)
I'm already running both, the ladder features a 'points for' category - I had to include that to do the percentage.
Will post screenshots when I'm completely finished.
-
Think that's the way to go, 18 rounds then start our finals.
I've already typed all the formulas for 21 rounds though. Besides, with 18 rounds and 3 week finals, there's 3 weeks missing.
Talking about the formulas, the spreadsheet's nearly done. I'm going to make the captains worth double points too - if you didn't select a captain I chose the player with the best leadership experience - for example, with Deez Nutz I chose Sam Mitchell, because he has been the longest reigning captain out of the 18. (I picked him over Gary Ablett, mind you )
-
I'd like an Air Jurrah tee regardless.

I reckon it'd be more fun playing each other with a ladder and finals etc...
I posted a way we could play each other twice and finish with a final 6 a few pages back but I'm on iPhone and cbf searching for it now.
It'd just be on here, score vs score win / loss and percentage. It'd be easy enough.
I've already got that in. And I'm using your final 6 method.
Thing is, should we do 18 rounds (2 games against each team) or 21 (same as 18 with three extra random games)?

My membership card turned up in the mail but...it was the wrong one (Youth 11, instead of Youth 18).

And as I mentioned the positional/salary cap issues.
Eth, all yours. I wouldn't have time to do it anyway for everybody - your call if you want to do that. Agreed that supercoach is a better scoring system. I recommend fanfooty like I mentioned earlier, would be the best and easiest way to grab all the scores in my opinion.
If you are thinking of creating like a fixture over the season I dont think there is a need. I just think a total score basis over the whole season would be best - as it would in a way even out for injuries etc over the course of the year. Unlucky if you get some LTI but thats luck of the draw. Would be interesting to see how teams go.
Thanks Ox. I was already going to use Fanfooty, best scores database on the net, IMO.
I'll consider a fixture though. Will see if I can work it out.
-
Probably whatever's easiest - the League would work everything out for you but probably wouldn't accept teams with only 18 players? Is that right?
You're right, but what I'm talking about isn't an actual league on the Supercoach site - just a private league of sorts which only has 18 players and 10 teams.
-
There may or may not be an easy way to set this up - hence the call to the computer savvy.
Easy on Excel. If Ox doesn't mind, I'll keep track over the season.
-
Too difficult to set up a dream team due to the limitations of salary cap, player positions etc.
If those who were involved wanted to keep tabs on how each team would score each week maybe individually those who want to can just quickly add up their score and post it in. Wouldnt take too long using fanfooty as your resource for scores.
Then maybe at end of each round we have one post to summarise the total scores to date for each team and continue this over the whole season to get a final winner come the end of the season.
I think Supercoach is better for scoring, TBH. At the end of every round I can do a points update, or I can do an actual league.
What do you reckon's better?
-
Is someone (with a computer clue) in a position to set up a super coach/dream team?
It would be great to see how this pans out.
Cheers
Like a full on league, with finals and stuff?
If so, yeah, if not...yeah.

Great, he pushed me out of third place.
Good article though. Worth a read.

Add Maric to the list
He's had a good pre-season, but...

Just like Carlton of 2006.
Don't worry about it.
