Yes… we don’t need a massive win to increase our percentage; just restrict them to as low a score as possible, and a 50-60 point margin is suddenly a big percentage boost.

Mothers Day is just the creation of Hallmark and retailers. Surely every day should be considered Mothers Day.

Hey, we don’t want to get involved in aNarrms race!

When was the last time you watched Melbourne lose?
hardtack replied to Big Col's topic in Melbourne Demons
The only game my son and I got to attend last year, the Queen’s Birthday game against the Pies at the SCG. Thankfully there are no games up this way in 2022, so we can’t put the mockers on the Dees by attending. -
I’m becoming more inclined to think of Max as not just the best in the league, and not just the best that Melbourne has produced, but as the GOAT to have played the game! There are (and have been) great midfielders, great forwards, great backs and great ruckmen, but Max encompasses the best qualities of all of those footballing ‘arts’. The fact that he will most likely never win the Brownlow (read, midfielder’s medal), is an absolute travesty!

That new indigenous guernsey is definitely face palm worthy. The lower half looks like a homage to West Coast via Collingwood while to top half looks like a clown’s face. It’s far far far too busy. It’s an abomination I tells ya!
-
Is that a euphemism?

The ‘Refresh’ button is your friend.

When I’m watching games involving the Bulldogs, I find myself concentrating more on the free kick count than the scores… 5 minutes in and already 4-0 in their favour.
-
No, unfortunately I didn’t. Acari, to my ears, I’d like an Irish Tom Waits… but I do get what you mean about the Hyatt similarity.
-
Yes! I first saw this quite some time ago and immediately loved it. There’s another guy I would like to cover named Dave Acari:

Another video from the Smith's Alternative performance:

No idea if anyone came as a result of my post (although we did have a good sized turn out), but in case anyone is interested, this is a clip comprising bits of our final three numbers on the day. We’re back again at Smith’s Alternative in Canberra on Saturday 28th May with a local band IL Bruto.

AFLW GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Adelaide
hardtack replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
This team is just plain lazy… they cannot expect to win if they don’t put in the effort. Too many players just walking around. -
The umpires have lost the plot completely.
-
Both teams’ disposal is awful… at least the Doggies are marking the thing.
-
I’m conflicted on Greene… he’s a different cat and a brilliant player. It’s a shame he has so little self control; he’s the Nick Kyrgios of footy!
-
Is there any player going around who’s more irritating that Weightman?
-
I’ll preface this by apologising to Demonland and other mods as this is a shameless plug with not a lot (well, nothing really), to do with footy other than the fact we have the Dees in common. I just know that if I post in the General Discussion forum, it most likely won’t reach the intended audience. However, delete if you see fit. My band Los Romeos Oxidados are venturing down from Sydney to play at Smith’s Alternative in Alinga St, Civic this Sunday, 3rd April from 4-6pm. Would love it if any of you could make it… unfortunately Grand Old Flag isn’t on the playlist. https://www.smithsalternative.com/events/los-romeos-oxidados-75253

Actually, according to the NSW Demons Supporter Club Facebook page, they do still meet at the Camelia Grove… that’s based on a post by Sally Trevena from 5 days ago. https://www.facebook.com/groups/nswdemons
-
I’m guessing they may have relocated 🤣
-
Don’t know if they still do, but the Sydney Demons would usually gather at the Camelia Grove Hotel in Alexandria, just a short walk from Erskinville Station.
-
Can’t say I blame them.
-
What a game!!

I liked the description given by a friend… a case of Feud and Beveridge.
