Newton and pick 37 from PA for 23? 37 to GWS for Frost?
If we move 23 then the big trades are definitely off.
-
Even Mahoney is getting in on the riddles.
More like James Bond speak....

My predictions for today:
1) Watts and pick 23 to Adelaide for Pick 10.
2) Pick 10 and pick 3 to Sydney for Luke Parker and pick 39.
Fully expect to be wrong about this. Any other predictions?
If we did Watts and pick 23 to Adelaide for Pick 10 then the Kennedy trade would be on unless the 12 was to satisfy adelaide for Danger in which case we would have to off load watts to the weagles for 11 or Richmond for 12.

Just reading the tea leaves here but I think we are really into Brayshaw which is why we cant get the deals done because we want to hold onto pick 2. I suspect if we had pick 1 it would be used on Brayshaw by Roos (he has mentored him this year as has Alistair Clarkson).

Surely it's not true that GWS have offered Ess 4,6 & 20 for Ryder?
It's crazy time. ...
-
"There will be some good free agents this time next year and we will go hard at those" = "You idiots Adelaide, you should have done the deal for Dangerfield while you had the chance"
Or so I like to think, anyway
Absolutely what he is saying.

Brisbane knocked it out of the park? Lets get a grip, they got lucky that a player wanted to go there for family reasons. Brisbane got lucky.
We got unlucky with Trengove's injury.
The dogs fell apart and then have put too many eggs in one untried basket.
And there is a day to go.

Omg why do people keep saying that...I really doubt it now...gws need a key forward to back up Cameron next year.
Because they are addicted to pick one and taking the best kids. Its pathological.
-
That gives GWS picks 4, 6 & 7.
With Boyd gone, and if they try to trade to get pick 1, that muddies the water on if they would take Petracca, given the only decent tall forward they now have is Cameron.
Does this bode well for us in getting Petracca at pick 2?
No they will trade into 1 and take Petracca, but I suspect Brayshaw is a more reliable pick.

I get that we couldn't do anything with 2 and 3 but what is going to happen with 23 surely we would prefer someone ready made than go to the draft with that?

Welcome Heritier, delighted to have you at the Dees!

What pick do we trade for that?
-
Mahoney says no way to Ralph last night and reiterates us using 2 and 3 in draft and it keeps going.
Mahoney: "Oh you want to talk to us about Kennedy, sorry I told Ralphy we are using 2 and 3 so we aren't interested."
I will now go and stand in the naughty corner as well.

or maybe we will.

what about 3+ Grimes + 23 and we keep 2 - i would much prefer that
The swans cant take a player after the AFL ruling. We are stuck with limited options. If we can move another player for a pick we could reduce the cost but would that be worth it?
I know most people are split on Watts but he may benefit from this deal as an outside player. Who could we move for pick 12?
-
Ps: I cant wait for Barrett to say "we have gone mad, first the tyson deal and now this!" It will be gold to listen to.
Pps: I should declare a conflict of interest, living in Sydney stealing one of their players will make my life a bit more bearable up here.

Well we're still talking hypotheticals. We have no idea whether or not this is true so declaring that this proves Roos doesn't rate high draft picks makes no sense.
I agree, if true.
What I dont get is that we go from woe is us we can't land a big fish to woe is us we pay overs for a big fish.
Let me speculate that the deal was 2 and 12 but that fell through, what do we do just give up?
Having Kennedy around to help develop Salem, Toumpas and dare i say Watts has to be worth the investment now when you consider picks 2 and 3 will only nett us one of Brayshaw or Petracca (although he will go at 1) and then a speculative forward. It will let Tyson and Jones run abit freer around the ball.
I think if true its a great result for the club.

As exciting as landing a player of his calibre is, if Brayshaw and Petracca were there at picks two and three and they become bonafide Stars of the comp I'd be sick to the stomach.
They wont be only one will slip to 2 and then after that its pot luck this draft . Mind you pick 1 is no guarantee of a bonafide star of the competition.
Kennedy is a star, he will put us on the map as a destination.
This is an investment decision and shows Roos does not rate high picks.

Not possible,
39, which is now 41 is Billy Stretch
Yes it is thats the swans compo pick

Pick 3 and a later pick sure. 2 & 3 = no no no no no
Ryan Dee says we are paying overs so it wont be 3 and later pick. Our best hope is we give a bit more and get another player as well.
-
They cant take a player which is why losing 12 put a spanner in the works.
-
2 or 3 or a Bird in the hand?
Will it include a pick back to us?

Kennedy

Ok, lets look at who has been picked up to date.
Beams and Christensen can both play, both had big injury problems with Christensen in particular having 2 back op's in 2014. On the surface big wins for them.
GWS pick up some lose some. Griffen is a gun but struggling with a back. Patfull playing out time to retirement.
Doggies won't get Boyd this year and even if they did he has a long, long way to go and may not make it.
Carlton pick up 2 players who can't get a game at GWS and Jaksch in particular is overrated.
So where are all these guns? Beams, Christensen and Griffen who come with problems and the others are not. Some of the other names you've suggested like Giles are most certainly not.
Seriously dont you have MFCSS? Far too rational for my liking.
