  1. Forgive my selective quote BB, but your comments are pretty accurate.
  2. It's academic now anyway Jumbo, thanks to MN!
  3. Are you trying for the post with the most rubbish Ron, or does it come naturally!
  4. Absolute rubbish Ron - clearly you haven't seen enough 'significant' quarters!
  5. I kept my response simple (and in broad terms) Benson, but the reality is that AFL, like many other similar sports, is simple. Sure, there are details that have to be addressed, but these are normal day to day expected events, the routine preparation and the game are simple. Sorry if this disappoints you, but there are other sports which are much more complicated, try F1 for example.
  6. I'm happy to give you a response Benson, albeit in very simple terms. First, review last week's game in detail. Second, look at next week's opponents in detail. (In between, train - if it was me, I would emphasise skills.) Third, pick team and advise members of details specific to the upcoming game.
  7. Calm down BB - most coaches will tell you that the game is won or lost in the days before the actual game - I think that's what Benson is asking about (?).
  8. He reads Demonland and gets totally confused!
  9. Certainly would be boring mate! My real concern is that MN's style of game is wrong and totally unnatural compared with the successful Geelong style. I believe this is why MFC players seem confused on the field (and I have never seen this style to be successful, even at the Pies when they won a rather fortunate flag - ironic, as I am now watching the same two teams that played in that GF!). I would be very happy if this could be rectified, but MN seems determined to impose his will - hence my concern about MN and why I believe he must go now.
  10. I accept that Neeld is not to blame for all of MFC's woes, however he must certainly be held to account for our onfield performance - underneath I suspect we may share some common views.
  11. Could we please refrain from personal comments and replace them with analytical views, or personal opinion, at least in some way related to MFC!
  12. Your grammar is appalling Sat! Would you also please make meaningful comments!
  13. 'Happy with our predominance against teams with similar attributes and experience to us' - would that be the two or three other bottom teams? What are you saying?
  14. Please do not attempt to summarise my comments and twist them to suit your own view. My point is very simply that MN is trying to impose a playing style that is not logical, as shown by the styles adopted by many clubs, and hence cannot logically be accepted by MFC players, who do have the capacity to think and who do communicate with players from other clubs.
  15. I said it was an example, and it does help to explain why so many players appear not to know what to do on the field.
  16. I have read a lot of posts trying to make sense of why players are not performing at MFC (or did not perform before they left). Let me make an observation using Moloney as an example. Moloney used to be a superb attacking midfielder at MFC - he would fend off any opponent with one arm whilst holding the ball in the other, and then launch a long and accurate kick into the forward line. IMO he could not do this under MN because he was forced to focus on his opponent - look at some tape, and vision will show Moloney focussing on fending off his opponent with two arms and the ball is not in sight. I would argue that other players have similar problems under the MN style. Yeah, I know, let the attacks begin!
  17. Help yourself - go back and read all the posts from #1 - you might begin to understand the issue.
  18. It's a bit tough to say the players 'hate' MN, however it does appear he is out of his depth. It's also pushing it to say the players wanted to rule the roost, but it could be true that they felt too much interference from other areas. One would hope the players wanted a professional coach. I'm not convinced the coach needs to be a premiership player, or even a top player, but the coach certainly needs people skills and a sound understanding of the modern game as in the Geelong style of play, which many clubs have adopted in one form or another.
  19. There's no point in giving MN any ultimatums Rufus - the situation is well past that, as you should have realised from reading posts on this thread - it's not pretty, but MN has to go now.
  20. Please don't take offence BB - I fully understand your position - I'm just stupid enough to want to keep going!
  21. I'll make an educated guess and say I have probably been supporting MFC longer than most people who contribute to threads such as this one - I am happy to concede there are a few with longer standing credentials, however! It hurts to see good supporters feeling they have to call it quits. Let me just say one thing - hang in there, no matter how tough it gets, the right forces will win eventually - 'nil carborundum bastardum'!
  22. I was looking rationally at their performance over the last 18 months - want to compare it with ours?
  23. Well said Redleg. I believe almost every poster in this thread has MFC's interests and success at heart, in contrast to what Satyriconhome appears to believe. There are times in life when difficult decisions have to be made - in MFC's life, I believe now is one of those times, hence my support for the 'Neeld has to go' approach.
  24. Just to throw in another factor in this discussion, purely for interest- Macartney at the Dogs has been ignored in our posts - he appears to be getting a reasonable result from a list which has clear 'holes'.
