  1. You are are correct 45HG - if anyone in a football club loses the passion, the emotion and the excitement, and the expectation to win, they should get out immediately.
  2. It's very simple - keep JW - we've lost too many already - end of story.
  3. It's now tomorrow and no, I'm not scheming the downfall of the coach - that's in his own hands. Just a reminder - we had a good win and it felt great, but reality is still around us - it's a long way to the top! I hope a lot was learned from the win - corridor footy isn't a bad thing - taking chances isn't a bad thing - taking the game on isn't a bad thing - let's do it again!
  4. I would have hoped the 'MFC opposition analyst' was at the North/Brisbane game from the start - that's his job!
  5. No negatives 'Unleash Hell' - just reality. 'Biff' has got it in one - a simple plan which players naturally want to play! As I said in an earlier post, Matthew Lloyd's article in today's Age sums it up well - play one on one for a while, then gradually introduce strategies. Personally, I would add one prior ingredient - skills, skills, skills ...
  6. I think you need to have a good look at a replay of the game! However, I do agree with you that Neeld is not out of the woods, and both supporters and players have been given something to believe in - just what remains to be seen.
  7. No Chook. Players follow the Coach's orders or they are dropped. Something different happened today after 3/4 time - apart from a young GWS side running out of legs, it was a very interesting turn-around!
  8. Great to see a win, but I too am not convinced by today's performance - we are certainly not out of the woods! I wonder if MN read Matthew Lloyd's article in today's Age - after many losses at Richmond, Hardwicke gave up on his preconceived (Hawthorn) gameplan and just let the players go one on one for several weeks. It certainly looked like that at the MCG today, as there wasn't much evidence of boundary line (Collingwood) style play - there was plenty of corridor and one on one style of football. I wonder what will be learned from today.
  9. Bit of a diversionary tactic there Biff - real action is needed to get MFC going again - it's way past attempted humour time!
  10. The result of tomorrow's game is not relevant - MN and NC have to go - clearly, their ultimate time is limited and the longer both stay around, the greater the damage to MFC. Harsh yes, but these are unusual times and as such, call for unusual actions. I do not make this call lightly and I am well aware of the arguments for and against - but MFC must act now!
  11. Clearly there are people who have to be held to account for all of the current situations at MFC - it's not a witch hunt - we need facts and then actions based on facts. We need to fix the problems and not be obsessed with blame - just get on with it quickly before it gets worse!
  12. When a new coach says we will be the hardest team to play against and we collapse in a heap. When the same coach a year later (after a dismal previous year) says we trained well over summer and I don't know why we are where we are! I think that coach has condemned himself! Enough is enough!
  13. I understand the issues you raise, but all clubs have their own problems, and the simple fact is that Neeld has not got close to dealing with the problems confronting him and has, in fact, made the situation worse - he simply isn't up to it!
  14. I didn't suggest it was simple - my point was that a good coach works with what he has got and then improves it - he takes the club with him. Neeld has done the opposite!
  15. Neil Craig had a limited successful period as coach with Adelaide and then a less successful period which resulted in him parting ways with Adelaide. Mark Neeld was apparently ok as a midfield coach at the Pies, but he has already shown that he cannot handle the top job. Anyone who questions this should look at Macartney at the Dogs, Sanderson at the Crows and Hinkley at Port. All of them are dealing with problems they inherited, but they appear to have the players on side, without the massive clean-out that Neeld has instigated. Only Neeld appears unable to get the players on side, so presumably Neeld is the problem and Craig isn't helping! Also, this week's result will not change anything - Neeld and Craig have to go!
  16. I really wish you were correct, but sadly, the coaches got it wrong - your theory is good, but the practise of others has let you and the club down!
  17. So what about those older players who weren't good enough at their old clubs....?
  18. It won't be a magical solution, but it will be a step in the right direction!
  19. What are you saying - I'm certainly not Gen Y!
  20. We don't really know the answer to that question - let's get a good coach and see how Watts performs - when we lose players to other clubs and the players fit in well or improve, it's time to look in our own backyard.
  21. Neeld and Craig to go - Watts to stay - we have already unnecessarily lost enough players with potential under this regime!
  22. Good call DeeZee. It's a simple case of sack Neeld and Craig. Yes, it may cost money, but what price the survival of the club? Radical actions are rarely popular, but sometimes they just have to be taken - in this case it's long overdue!
  23. The difference is the Cats just keep coming back - when most people wrote them off because of retirements - and they are looking even better this year, although it is early days!
