I do appreciate you noticing my rare skills though! we have got a second round for next year, so we could find that layer next year, and we do get a second rounder through the Langdon trade, so if you look at them as a whole, which I believe you should, we got Tomlinson and Langdon while still having a second round pick (dropping only 4 spots) for this season for the loss of frost.

Ha ha ha. Love the tone of the reply! So condescending, to an honest question! we were lucky to get what we got, back into the second round for next year. And if you wanted something to work immediately, that is very rarely a draft pick, especially one late in first or second round, so I assumed you were talking of a player possibly, that’s hey I asked. No matter, we can never keep everyone happy, so you keep dreaming we were going to get more for a player that only one club was chasing.

How do you know we haven’t tried to get a small forward in?? Or a forward at all?? and for people jumping up and down for a small forward, do you just want to bring in someone for the sake of it?? Even if they aren’t that good?? Heaps of people keep being picky about so many players and finding their faults as to why we shouldn’t bring them in and then people just want to bring in someone cos we have a need, even if they aren’t good enough. I agree we need a better small forward, but they actually need to be an improvement on what we have. I don’t think butler is an improvement on his recent form, gray possibly is, but I don’t think they are someone we need to chase hard.

Asked for more info, was told they are still trying, but it comes down to a waiting game, as so many trades are being held up and the likelihood of this one is dependent on others moving first. also didn’t rule out speaking to other taller forwards, but unsure if they are really serious about getting one unless it is the one they want (possibly not interested in a short term solution).

No mate, if you know me or have read any of my posts in the past, I am not one to make up stuff, and I am also not one to reply 1000 times to every topic. I actually take offence to some of you saying I am talking crap or making it up. I know what I know, and just because I won’t say the actual name yet, your think I am lying. Show some patience. It may not pan out, but we are trying to get someone, as I have said already.

Apologies, but I was nervous about giving too much info and ruining the trust of my source. So, you can rule in ANYONE mentioned in this thread, wether they have been ruled out by me or others or not. Last post on this, I will leave you all to muse on it until I am allowed more, or the players name actually comes out.

I can only assume it is because the main target is someone under contract who they are trying to pry from his current club, and then the others are secondary options. And, all trades are drawn out unfortunately, even most of the ones where teams have been nominated, so I guess we can understand why the more secretive ones may take longer.

However, we are also into some others as we are keen for a tall, marking, goal kicking forward. I wasn’t given any other specific names, but judging by everything, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is players such as Jenkins and Brice that we are speaking too, along with the other unnamed player. I wouldn’t be surprised if we brought in a tall forward and a crumbed, along with Tomlinson and Langdon!

How dare you accuse someone on the site of making up stuff ?. I will ease your minds and say it isn’t Cox or anyone from that club! However, I do have a very good source and I am glad some people remember my team announcements in previous years!! I just haven’t been on the site much this year, as I honestly couldn’t sit through most of the rubbishy being written on here! it was bad enough watching us play, but rewind stuff on here just made it worse!! As I said, I promised my source I wouldn’t name the player, but he is from a club that are possibly needing to shed some players or $$ this trade period.

I am excited by the player, he is not a battler, but a player who has kicked quite a few goals against us (but thats not hard as we have always allowed players to kick modern day bags of 4-5 against us!).

Just putting it out there, and before anyone asks and says i am trolling, I will not be giving any names (my source has demanded I don’t) but I have heard we are really trying to get a key forward from another vic team!! I will let you all guess away (or conversely have a crack at me for not naming anyone and making it up), but I will only say he is from a vic team and has been mentioned nowhere in the media. We all know Elliott was not the only player we have been talking too!

It may be worthwhile to trade Oscar, but you need another team to want him, and if he is as bad as everyone says he is, who would we trade him too? And if we did trade him, no way is it for a second rounder. the reason Oscar got a contract was because he actually had a strong year in 2018 and many of you were possibly talking of his improvement and development! Things do change very quickly in football. People jumping up and down about losing frost when many had him out of our best side at the start of last year, and although he had a strong year, he still has the same problems why many didn’t like him prior to this season. And calling Tomlinson a dud, there is a reason he has been chased for the last four or so years, and it’s not cos he is no good!

Sorry if this has been asked or answered, but I am currently out of the country, but did someone from the actual football club state that they rate Omac higher than Frost? i would have to assume that someone did, as having read some of the comments above, people keep complaining that the football department do!

Sorry if any of this has been posted in this discussion, but I am being lazy (and probably sensible) and not reading all the previous posts. I dont post often but think i am pretty accurate with my intel, and i have been told that Keilty will be playing forward this year. Secondly, they were keen to rookie mclean, as they had thought about doing the previous season, but in the rookie draft, they thought that chandler was a better option, as they rated him highly. (i did question why he wasnt selected the day before if they rated him so highly!! didnt get much of an answer!) The same with last year, they had planned on drafting mclean, but petty was still available and that rated him higher.

Can agree with maybe them going to Tmac more than Hogan, but not to Melksham or petracca when Jesse was there. Either way, having more options makes it harder for them to plan and helps each other out. Personally i just don't like saying that because he (or any forward for that matter) didnt kick goals that he didnt play well or have a positive impact.

Grossly overrated is a silly comment in my opinion! We also did pretty well without Lever, should we trade him? We won plenty of games in the middle of the year without Viney, maybe get rid of him? And before you or others say at least the Weed stood up in finals, he hasnt had the chance, and i have no doubt he would stand up. And those saying he hasnt scored goals against the good sides, he isnt there as only a goal kicker. He helps T Mac get a secondary defender, he pushes up the ground heaps as well. I cant be bothered going through the stats, but I am sure early on, when he was playing dominant footy, it was still against some good teams. Personally, I want him to stay and for us to play all 3 talls. I also would love to see us get May at the same time, just not sure how.

Dont want him to leave, at all. We are in the stage of trying to win a GF, and we need him in my opinion. not with everyone who says no comment means he is going, but yes he may. dont want draft picks unless we can move them on for someone proven. i would prefer to keep a known quality player like hogan over a potential good player or two.

Was going to say the same thing, how does Cripps keep getting votes in games when his team loses by over than 10 goals???? i don’t care if he played well, you can’t tell me there aren’t at least 3 players who played better than him to make the team who actually won win the game!
