Agreed. He is on big money because that's what we were required to pay at the time, or else he would be in another jumper. It's completely irrelevant now.

Agreed. Most of our 'whipping boys' have demonstrated substantially why they tend to get 'whipped'.

I know I am captain cynical at the moment, but does anyone else get annoyed at when players talk all glowingly about their mates on other teams.. when we are about to play them... days after a pathetic loss... they are the enemy, you shouldn't be talking like that. You should be a ruthless melbourne footballer first and a mate of the enemy second. The whole tone of that interview was like 'yeah we'll have a go and see what happens" very casual, which is exactly what we see from the side periodically and with dire consequences. Just thought i'd throw another log on the negative fire

really dislike the fact he is saying we played two good quarters last week. For starters, we didn't, but more importantly the game as a whole was such a disgrace the senior coach should not be shining any positive light on it all IMO

Yeah right. The fact that the shortest odds for the premiership are listed as Hawthorn, Sydney, Freo and Port means 'jack' when predicting what is going to happen in September. It's a mathematical concept called PROBABILITY and ours is very low this weekend Go ahead and make some multis that are paying '$11-$12 combined' and see how many of them pay off

I hope I am wrong again but last week's horror show is haunting my mind, as is the exposed form of the crows.. throw in the fact it is at AAMI and you have a daunting combination

to be fair, he was great in the corresponding game last year, including a textbook spoil on Dangerfield that probably saved the match

I disagree though that we played 2 good quarters last week. We played the same garbage footy all day. GWS just didn't turn up until midway through through the second then they absolutely monstered us. They are not even considered a top 8 side.

we're paying 7.25 in a two horse race for a reason. 44.5 points is the line. Cannot possibly win, and if the dees are anything like they were last week, as I said, 100 points is on the cards

I can't begin to describe (well, I've already described it at length) how annoyed I am that we are here again, facing the real possibility of a triple digit flogging

Roos: AFL players not watching enough footy
Curry & Beer replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
exactly. To pluck a a name at random, I'll raise you Colin Sylvia. So he was better than most a junior. This prompted us to use pick 3 on him. He then spent the better part of a decade cashing checks and not lifting the weight that was asked of him. Are we supposed to have some sort of sympathy for this apathy? If I had been blessed by some force almighty to make several hundred K to play for the demons you best believe I would be glued to every match that is played just trying to get any sort of edge I could possibly find to make myself a better player. Best gig on the planet bar none. Makes me sick the blase attitude some supporters have to our players' professionalism -

ah yes more comparisons to your average Joe these guys are league ballers, they aren't assistant to the regional manager at a middle-tier paper merchant -
exactly last week was the absolute pits and there is no skirting around it
-
gee looks like it might be (if anyone cant tell the pic is of a dees scarf with a billy stretch badge on it) not very subtle!
-
oh great, another 'pick any good player from any draft and ask we why we didn't select them' discussion these are always logical and fruitful James Hird went at pick 64 WTF Prendergrast WTF
