  1. the last 2 weeks we've played to smallish crowds at Etihad in the day. This is going to be a decent turnout for Friday night at the G, I'm hoping it sets off some kind of spark in them. However, we are really pushing it uphill with 11 blokes unavailable for selection what hope can you give us
  2. OK so Tapscott, davey, Bartram out injured this week still just putting it down to bad luck are we smart guy
  3. this must be the 4th or 5th scully thread that has gone into the hundreds of posts territory you could say it's an important issue
  4. but this is the MFC where the supporters don't actually rate any of the players you can be a lifelong fan, vice-captain, hard as nails and be coming 4th in the brownlow and you still aren't rated
  5. wtf bail is out for 5 weeks is he not
  6. who invented this Richmond [censored] to worry about its GWS thats the boogeyman think mcfly think
  7. here's hoping he is as good as the last Nicholson to play for us, and equally as co-ordinated
  8. does anyone else have the feeling they want to kick Jon Ralph in the face?
  9. i think it was made about 3 seconds after the first tmie Jack Viney was mentioned on this board
  10. we obviously could easuily have won last week, it was mostly bad luck and a few critical errors from some kids. how anyone could debate this is beyond me. I was honestly shocked to find that on Sunday a huge amount of people were just slagging the side and the club off. I came away from the ground thinking we should have won and that it was a gutsy 4-quarter effort from un undermanned side. We are still on a 44% win record vs last year's 39% and there are clear improvements n both overall team play and certain individuals efforts, if only in patches. We all know that there are several cogs that many players in the side can lift so is it so hard to imagine they will right the ship and win many more before the year is out? What happened last year in round 1, we were embarassed by the Hawks again, what happened the next week, we matched the premiers. FCS a couple of weeks ago we responded to a loss with a 96 point belting. we will probably get done like a dinner for the next three but how can we honestly be upset with that, coming off 8.5 wins last year, huuuuuge injury list, playing top sides. We shouldn't be expecting to win them. Of course if they play awful footy or drop their heads for patches that will deserve criticism. But as long as they have a crack like they did last week i won't blame them lately ive read a lot of 'injuries are no excuse'... of course they are! we have 12 unvailable for this week, most of them solid players or at least in the mix for the 22, we will be fielding players that are past 30th best on the list i know this is going to cop 'stop making excuses winning is the only thing that matters' ... so maybe just save it.. if thats all you got i'm not interested
  11. come on mate.. relevance? it's clear we haven't often lost our best players, but unfortunately though it has to be said that most of the time our best players haven't been superstars of the comp and hence have been less likely targets for poaching
  12. No, we thrashed them this year. We monstored them by 96 and it should have been about 120! and we were a man down with several others out injured! credit where it's due please! I still think we'll ultimately get to 10-11 wins after originally thinking 12-13
  13. exactly if we had a dick pratt Judd would be our captain make no mistake
  14. there needs to be a question asked when you go many consecutive years with a huge injury list if you don't ask the question, and instead put it down to luck and move on, you're a muppet especially when your club is broke
  15. that's the way it works around here if you are 18 you are the next Wayne Carey if you are 23 you are a washed up hack with no heart that should be traded immediately
  16. you guys are just bagging the club without any information (geeee that never happens here does it) if they are dropping him it would be to make a statement, why would you then cover up the statement with a fake injury it makes NO SENSE think about it
  17. Yeah the hack only managed to come in THIRD in the AL TIME GOALKICKERS LIST of the MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB, behind Neitz and Norm Smith, ahead of Gary Lyon great comment mate
  18. not to mention is of less trade value then the russsss
  19. couldn't agree more. If you have ever been involved in a footy club you know who the guys like Jones and Moloney are. They are amongst the few that give absolutely everything on and off the field, so important to the group, they wouldnt get traded in a million years and rightly so
  20. Nobody, by a long stretch, but the point is more that if he did the injury again it would go down as a totally moronic decision to play him straight in Hope they go for it though, the club needs a bit of a lift.. my tip is for the sub
  21. gee there are some ordinary comments on the board lately, but with that one mate you are putting yourself in elite company
  22. the coach of whoever is playing Casey this week is [censored] his pants
  23. hahah only when the nine other blokes come back in
