Curry & Beer replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was on the train in my dees jumper, surrounded by red and black sardine style, just quietly whistling the grand old flag with a s-eating grin on my face, nobody appreciated it, which made it all the more sweet -

hahah 10 pages, not getting through that! All I have to say is that is the best defensive effort I have probably ever seen from a melbourne side, 69 inside 50s for 10 goals, they just would not let them pass.. we are going to beat a SLoad of sides if we can keep that up -

pitiful amount of votes for Grimes! about 700 critical spoils as the ball kept coming in over and over again! main reason we got through! -

Grimes Dunn Watts Frawley Cross Kent Apologies N.Jones, who has clearly reached the plateau of 'he's so good so often that we take it for granted' -
I also get the feeling that's the difference between a win and a loss today. Dawes, Watts, Pederson, Frawley.. maybe the Russian? we just NEED this group to contribute at least 8 goals

Yep. The amount of overall supporters is proportionate to the amount of bandwagon, fairweather, know-nothings.. therefore the Pies, Tigers and Bombers have an abundance of these types, where as ourselves, North and the Dogs have a large percentage of diehards that go to every game. Just the nature of people.

tigers still average 40k to our 32k though

Goddard has him well covered in athleticism and class IMO

If we win by about 80 points we'll jump Carlton also and be 12th :D

I've been to literally about 500 games and I don't recall ever seeing a woman get verbally/physically indimidated Don't let that one bad experience taint your experience forever, odds are very much in your favour of it never happening again!

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
Curry & Beer replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
hmm.. so for the first time, Roosy has swung the axe with three omissions. Jordie and Kent have played twice each this year (rd 4+5, and 3+4 respectively). Fair to say they have been given a long time to work their way back in, hopefully it shows in their application. Feels a bit rough for Terl, I've liked his season for the most part. -

Essendon In: J.Winderlich, M.Hurley, T.Colyer, E.Kavanagh Out: J.Watson (hip) Melbourne In: J.McKenzie, A.Riley, D.Kent, D.Nicholson Out: J.Kennedy-Harris Handy -
more rubbish dependent more on where the team is on the ladder and the number of supporters it has than the actual value of the player don't see Niknat anywhere, you would think he should be rewarded again for getting 4 kicks a game

still 'indefinite' . .... ?
-
please god let us beat these pr1cks

very simply put: we have been slowly improving, and been very solid for a month, we had a bit of a dip in that improvement this week. You can't expect a constant, unbroken, upward trajectory without exceptions. This year, e might only end up 3 spots or so higher than last year but I am very confident we will play finals next year. You have to take a long term view

I went with my original instinct, which was the resultant poll outcome: 12. Dom Tyson. Viney came very close, but I rationalised that with 12, I also have a throwback to Todd, which is a tip of the hat to Jack. So it's kindof a bet each way. Ole Dom was a bit off on Monday though huh?

we did kick 3.10 Watts missed from 30 out under no pressure, would have kept us in it
-
the russian got 5 Carlton, 22nd Aug 2009 very good question - when was the last time someone kicked 6 or more, haddabeen Neitzy around 2005ish????
