  1. The only thing I want to know at this stage is whether Hogan is going to win the coleman
  2. very tough call on Fitzsimmons v Jarrot , two legends of the game right there!
  3. BUMP and bump to all the cretins who wacked me for it apologies whenever you're ready
  4. that post is an attempt at comedy right oh wait you used the phrase "Surely to goodness" tells me everything I need to know about you
  5. don't think Roosy's solution to FA is to change it so that the shafted minnow club gets absolutely nothing
  6. who has coached a better season at the MFC (with a worse list mind you) Bailey or Roos
  7. odd response. Do you go around to every comment on every thread and point out we should only be discussing things that we have control over? Newsflash buddy - not one topic on this board is under ANY control by ANYONE on this forum - but we talk about it bizarre response
  8. Think a few people have conveniently forgotten we lost the last TEN, three of them by over 10 goals I think there is a great deal of premature Roos worship at this stage
  9. 2010: 8-13-1 94.52% Pos:12th Coach: D.Bailey 2011: 8-13-1 85.27% Pos:13th Coach: D.Bailey 2014: 4-18 68.37% Pos:17th Coach: P.Roos
  10. I called it too. I said he was a coward for running away from his problems and that he would live to regret it. As you can imagine I was howled at by the bleeding hearts around here. Well of course I was right, he regretted it and came back, but I did not pick the inexplicable part which was to knife us and go elsewhere.
  11. instead of parroting what others have said why don't you answer the question - 4 wins 2014, 6 wins 2015, 8 wins 14 losses in 2016 then Goodwin has his debut season as a head coach in the AFL - will you be happy with that ?
  12. I don't. The day he left Roosy gave an angry press conference about the inequality of FA. Fair assumption he was pretty peeved to lose a senior key position player when you've just finished 17th Honestly I would prefer to have kept him rather than get pick 3. Pick 3 is just some maybe kid in a few years. We need strength right now. If we get a lower pick than 3 it is a royal shafting indeed.
  13. The overarching thought here seems to be that '3 years is plenty' FMD did we just finish 17th or didn't we? a few stats: qw f a % ave '13 20 1455 2691 54.1 66-122 (-56) '14 30 1336 1954 68.4 61-89 (-28) i50 cl disp ED% '13 40.0 32.8 319 70.9 '14 40.5 34.2 351 73.8 the improvement of his first year can be measured simply by the fact we reduced our losing margin from 56 to 28. That's not a bad start How much further can he possibly take us with 2 more though Are you all going to be happy if we win say, 8 games, in 2015 and then it's Goodwin time? I sure as hell won't be
  14. Good point We already have rats deserting the ship.. how strong can you build a culture if your coach has made a half-ar5ed commitment.. how strong is the desire to stick around and work at it as a player
  15. which I have mentioned in the OP (helps to actually read it). I asked why not remain senior coach if he is still around.
  16. somebody light a fire in this thread please GNF I'm looking at you
  17. I may have missed where on the board this conversation has been going on - but was anybody else a little surprised and disappointed at the news that Goodwin has been 'locked in' as the next coach? I was pretty confident that all this talk of succession was just theatre - a way for Roos to leave a back door unlocked in case everything goes '[censored] up' However, it would seem that the 3-year tenure was actually all on the level. I don't understand it - why is Roos not like every other coach in the comp; looking to build a list and teach them a plan, to stay on board as long as they'll have him, to incrementally achieve successes until the ultimate one - and then try to back it up again and again. Is he really just going to disappear if he has this mob in the top 8 at the end of 2015? What's this 'role' he is apparently going to stay in? Why doesn't he just remain senior coach if he is still going to be around? I have had an uneasy feeling about this half-hearted commitment to the club since day one. So pre-season 2016 we are back to the drawing board are we? Goodwin to me provides no more confidence than Bailey or Neeld. He is just another apprentice with no runs on the board. Thoughts?
  18. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-10-03/trade-winds-friday Star Swan going nowhere Sydney Swans midfielder Dan Hannebery has been linked to Richmond, but is unlikely to leave the beaten Grand Finalists. The Herald Sun reports Hannebery is all but certain to turn his back on the Tigers' interest. Well, aren't we supposedly throwing our weight around with high draft picks and lots of cap space? If this bloke was somehow into the Tigers, then why not us? Would be nice to pinch something nice from those cheats
