Damn you! I wanted Banfield so much, he was the player I wanted from Brisbane more than any other, was just waiting until a suitable pick.
-
That weight was never right. He was an elite runner before he entered the AFL system, he was never 91kg. His weight might not have changed too much since he got to the club but he has defenitely added some bulk this year.

Thanks for the report Bhima. I won't get drawn into the speculation on Moloney or Cook because it is just that. Can I ask about Maric, Petterd and Morton. I want to know if Maric is still 'flying', if Petterd is 'back' and if Morton has 'stepped it up'. Also any word on the WA rookies - I didn't expect them to be there yesterday but I wonder if they will make it on Friday. If Nicholson has the physical attributes (speed and endurance) to play AFL early, but his kicking needs improvement, what does everyone think about playing him as a tagger. We lack a designated tagger and lack players with the right combination of speed and endurance in our midfield to do it. Jones was found out in the role last year. It should be pretty hard to break into our midfield, and he might also struggle for a look in down back, but the tagging role could suit him.

+1Quite a few of us obviously very keen on Varcs. Lets hope his preseason injury dints his influence! Might have to go with Matty Cokes instead.

Pick 114 - Wildcard pick - L. McPharlin (Freo) The Master's Team: FB: _____ Grima Hurn HB: ________ McPharlin _____ C: Thomas Thompson Hill HF: D. Swallow Henderson Monfries FF: ______ Franklin ______ R: Jamar ______ Griffen I decided it was time to take my second key back. Tossed up going for a more natural full back N. Brown, Carlile, Dawson, Thompson or any other good defender - Tarrant, T. Williams, C. Bolton, Grundy, Gibson. But at the end of the day thought Grima is versatile enough to play full back and McPharlin just has an edge of class on most of those.

No I'd say your timing was pretty good actually.Come on eth!

I believe you are now able to pass on a rookie selection and get a group of players training with you over summer to obtain your final rookie spot in the "TRAINING SQUAD DRAFT". I believe only Richmond and Hawthorn have left themselves this option. Not sure who Richmond have. Hawthorn are picking between PJ, Nathan Ahmat-Watkins and Travis Tuck. I'm happy with Tom McNamara, I think he has the talent to be worth our last pick. Really happy with the first 4, especially the 2 guys from WA. Campbell is strange, but I'm happy with it. He should provide some leadership, is a premiership player and is good insurance, and who knows how quickly things can change. Maybe there is a slim chance we will be battling it out in finals with Campbell and Jamar in the side, with the big russian a weapon up forward.

Pick 94: Lachlan Henderson (Carl) Had to take a KPP and Henderson fills a need and covers Carlton. Like most of my picks its a reach. Really hoping more than anything he'll come on but his second half of 2010 was good and he lines up with Franklin well. I've got Sydney, Port, Adel, Bris, Geel, StKilda and Richmond left now. I'll have to make a choice with my next to picks on whether I pick the best from the bad sides or get some more quality in. The Master's Team: FB: Hurn _____ _____ HB: _____ Grima _____ C: D. Swallow _____ Hill HF: _____ Henderson Monfries FF: ______ Franklin ______ R: Jamar Griffen Thomas

Pick 90 for a guy we all think is a legitimate Brownlow chance next year. Steal.

Everyone on that team I respect and wanted, except maybe Priddis but he's pretty good for your WCE pick. Very well done whilst getting WCE, Ess, GC, Port and Sydney knocked off.
-
Cheers HT, happy with that. It's what I would have done, except if I got out my crystal ball and knew Eth38 was going to pluck Walker! He was high on my list.Anyway I'm just happy to get Essendon done! It's nearly 10pm
-
Thanks HT. Got the CHB I really wanted as I think he's nearly as good as any in the league, and got me a star midfielder. Tell you what though it was hard picking between Griffen and Montagna. I can't believe both lasted as long as they did.
-
I think it shows we have a lack of stars but a really nice group of quality players now. Obviously Frawley went early and I jumped at Jamar because I wanted a top 5 ruck. But after that there's a few players in the banner on top of this page that anyone will be happy with!

I think any physiological effects of altitude training are gone within a few months, regardless of use of the 'altitude' chamber. Whether the players get the perfect training is also a query - I mean hiking and just running won't produce the body needed to play AFL.However, I'm very confident in the psychological benefits. To work together as a team and climb a mountain in sub zero conditions pushes you to the edge. You come back from that training and know what is possible in normal training. Also when the season gets toward the pointy end you can be convinced that you had a training advantage. The question is whether the costs (both financial and interruption to normal training) are worth the benefit. Maybe for a young team like us its not.

Pick 54 - David Swallow (GC SUNS) FB: Hurn HB: C: Thomas Hill HF: FF: Franklin R: Jamar Swallow

Round 5: Pick 47 - S. Hill - Fremantle B: Hurn HB: C: Hill Thomas HF: F: Franklin R: Jamar Also option B would be my vote, but I don't mind either way.

Can't believe Bartel is still there and I won't pick him! Pick 34. The Master - Dale Thomas (Coll). I feel dirty. FB: Hurn HB: C: Thomas HF: Franklin FF: R: Jamar

Round 3 Pick 27 - Shannon Hurn (WCE) B: Hurn HB: C: HF: Franklin F: R: Jamar

I think I might, but I don't want everyone else knowing it. Pick 14 - Mark Jamar (Melb) HF: Franklin R: Jamar This big unco Russian man from South Australia is a bit of a bolter! Classic Prendergast 2010 selection!
