Pick it up meatball
-
Good player, not a smart player, can do even better. They’re all running on empty out there, going to take smart footy to grind this out
-
Kate Hore a perennially bad decision maker when trying to kill clock. Long turnover, short turnover, finally 3rd time lucky found a short
-
Denny Taylor is class, good on her getting back on a list. D’Arcy goes ok too
-
I will say that was proper attack on the ball in the air
-
Forget marking, if she could just more than once pick the ball up off the ground without shirking it she’d be back to being a potential superstar. Body line the ball Banno
-
Nice snag by the meatball. Girls having a real dip. Heath out their tackling like mad with her shoulder busted up is so impressive
-
He struggled early but was incredible as the season went on. Windsor had a good year too. The point Ralph is making is it’s ok to abandon the Houston move and know we’ll be a strong chance to get a good player at 5, or by the time it is used likely 6. Once again that’s the one saving grace for this year and awful trade period.
-
He’s also our preferred leak journo.

I don’t believe they would’ve just floated Oliver out there without considering it might actually happen. Not saying it was entirely their plan or the best way to do it but I’m not sure there was a good way if they’ve decided it was time to do it.
-
Unless…. It was all part of the plan and Perty’s taking one for the team
-
I reckon this puts pick 25 and the Derksen deal both in jeopardy. Nightmare result.

Sloane should be a development coach, leadership mentor and work towards a line coaching job. We need someone with more experience as a line coach (along with Bassett)
-
Teague train was forwards coach with Adelaide in 2017 when they were absolutely rolling. A few things go their way in the grand final and he’s seen as a genius part of a great forward line. Things weren’t sustainable at Carlton, they couldn’t defend but the list wasn’t much chop either. He went in to Richmond to work with Dimma who bailed on him. 3 of those people have jobs and the other is getting paid a fortune by the eagles not to coach. Teague is exactly who we should hire if we’re looking to play uptempo attacking footy. Chaplin and Bassett can get the defensive game plan right.

We have way too many holes to be using valuable picks on rucks unless they are huge standouts Develop up rookies and hope you get a good one. If not, there will always be someone when needed

Destination club!! In the same way a retirement home is sought after real estate I guess. It’s pragmatic but boy it’s unremarkable

Clarry might be from the country but I’m not sure the back blocks of Echuca and Shep make him a farm kid. If anything the malaise of those places would make you feel very at home in Casey. The 40 minutes from Camberwell to Casey is some kind of disastrous ordeal but 30 minutes from a farm in Moriac to GMHBA isn’t? Let’s be honest, Clarry’s mind, body, club and team mates were all happy with how he was going for the first 7 years of his career. Eventually that hit a tipping point. Geelong think they can manage all of the above. The way they control the media narrative gives them a big advantage.
-
The contract is a disaster but this is Cornes doing his own reporting to then make his own worst contract list. With no public verifiable figures. Whilst also driving the agenda of Oliver to Geelong because it gives them something to talk about for the 10,000 hours of Tradio they have to fill. I mean, even if the reports are 1.3 million with 6 years left that’s 7.8. That said, there was no need to sign Oliver mid 2022 if there were any doubts at all about his behaviour. Even if he was a perfect saint we should’ve waited until the summer. A 7 year deal shouldn’t be handed out 1.5 years early. You’re just asking for trouble.
-
Ball is in our court. I suspect we’ll have to pay 300-500k a year to get a future first. Maybe pay a little and get a second. Or we keep a player for 6 years, 6 million who we don’t trust and doesn’t trust us. No good options here.

St Kilda wants to change father son rules
DeeSpencer replied to darkhorse72's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clubs really hadn’t. If we were spending vast resources on NGA they’d be employees, training sessions, sponsorships, frequent social content. There’s nothing to say it’s more than a training session a week and the occasional special squad game. They’re a nice idea to foster talent from different backgrounds but in terms of gaining draft assistance it’s a rort, it always was. -
A common magpie fan comment when we hired Pert was that he’d meddle in the footy department. I don’t know if we should trade Clarry or not. It might be an inspired choice. But if we do it should be to a club that will actually pay up and it should be done wisely

SDK is a nice player who lost form due to injuries but isn’t Petty our CHB of the future once we get a CHF? Im a little doubtful on either Petty or SDK at full back, although both can make it work. But more than that I’m doubtful on trading Oliver for a key back when it’s not our main need.
-
We can send them Tomlinson back? They might relent if they sign Stringer, I can see why they wouldn’t give up a contracted player unless they’re bringing talent in. Already losing Cumming, Perryman and perhaps Peatling. Do we shift focus to Conor Stone?
-
I’d be hoping for more of a development role than straight up midfield coach, but he’s a great person and would be an excellent addition. His sister works with the AFLW side so he’d have some insight in to the club.

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?
DeeSpencer replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stewie Dew is cool (due to both his skills and heft) and Broden likes him because he’s cool and maybe a good coach so why not speak it in to existence? Something like that?
