  1. Haha, no, but the thread he created didn't go well
  2. A former CEO tried that, didn't work out too well...
  3. I assume they've run the numbers and realised that the cost of operating a shop in the CBD would outweigh the financial benefit it may provide. I assume we are living rent-free (or close to) in the MCG Demon Shop so trading that off for a significant increase in rent for a small CBD shop that may sell the odd jumper or scarf to tourists wouldn't be feasible.
  4. 500k would be in addition to his salary paid by the AFL as an "ambassador"
  5. I'm sure he'll be happy to take up Travis Clokes old role presenting the sport once a month on Channel 9 news
  6. Makes you wonder how it took 15 years to get there!
  7. Wear it in a classic win next year a la our win against WCE last year and history will start to be rewritten. I mean, we've been wearing our traditional jumper for the last decade during probably the bleakest period in our clubs history. Doesn't mean I want to see us do away with our traditional strip.
  8. It's great, it's a "throwback" jumper that we'll wear several times a year and if it comes down to it is far prefer to see us in this on GF day than any other clash jumper we've had over the years. It's fantastic the club is listening to supporters, it shows they understand that these things are important, even if they may seem inconsequential
  9. Probably because we didn't lay a tackle until 10 minutes in in round 23
  10. Inverted jumper (red with navy blue yoke), redback jumper or royal blue - all are preferable to white and in particular the bintang one from last year.
  11. For the spectators more than the players
  12. Congrats to PJ and the club on this. Zurich is a great get, a well respected global company and a sponsor who should appeal to our membership base. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long term partnership akin to Sydney/QBE.
  13. Apparently a Geelong supporter questioned Chris Scott about having no "plan B" at the Geelong AGM I mean, there's holding the club accountable and then there is just unbridled stupidity
  14. Petracca looking ripped in this shot, good to see
  15. His goalkicking killed us in one or two games (the North one in particular?) But I think he started turning it around and he has shown he can hit the scoreboard. Some were calling for him to be dropped but others argued it was worth persevering. A few comments doesn't make it universal.
  16. I'd have him in our best team. While he isn't the smoothest operator going around he does have a major thing in his favour, guts and determination. That can get a player a long way, and he'd seemed to get over his goalkicking yips before being rubbed out for the hit on Mills. He did dob a crucial goal against the Crows at Adelaide Oval against the run of play to keep us in it when the Crows got out to a 4-5 goal lead remember.
  17. But the Crows did it really well
  18. I remember someone saying last year that the packs aren't done by the club but some outsourced company who takes care of all the membership packages of all clubs. At least most Melbourne members got there's before Christmas, my wife is a cats member and hasn't received anything yet
  19. Unless the matter is sent through the appropriate authorities, and possibly even if it is, then it is nothing more than he said/she said situation. Unless the player admits to any kind of inappropriate behaviour how will they determine guilt? Does he have no recourse to defend himself? Is the alleged victim going to submit to medical testing and cross examination/investigation or whatever else is usual in these cases? This is not to downplay the behaviour but just to look at it from a legal perspective. Before any punishment can be issued it is surely imperative that guilt is determined.
  20. If no complaints or charges are made and the AFL decides to impose a penalty could they not be opening themselves up for defamation charges?
  21. It's not out of the realms of possibility. Have some faith OD. The competition is very even, look at last year's finals series not any stand out teams at all.
  22. Cats already do this - I looked at getting tickets to the Geelong/Richmond game there this year (my wife is a cats fan) and it was going to cost about $120 combined for seats at the top level on the wing. She has a Geelong AFL membership but that only gets her GA admission there so she had to pay an extra 45 or so to reserve a ticket and mine was $65
  23. That's the aim of the AFL/clubs is to have so many members that games are on a reserved basis only, just like the WA/SA clubs and Essendon (when playing at Docklands). Makes them more money and the TV rights will go up when that is the only way people can watch. It's why I've held on to my AFL Membership and why I signed my kids up for it at birth, will never have a problem getting a great seat and if the Demons ever make the big one I'll be all but guaranteed a ticket.
