My concern is that he is a bit of a one trick pony .He certainly can take a speccy but that only gives him one possesssion even if it is a memorable one .Has features of Russell Colcott about him and like Russell if he doesnt develop a more of an all round game he will become a one man highlight reel with a short career .

kaspersky jumps to the magpies
kallangurdemon replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Demon Andy I would prefer not to reveal my source without his/her consent but I can add that if we had been prepared to accept a $300000 deal Kaspersky would stll be on board as there no issues other than money .I dont believe we were greedy but rather commercially prudent . -
kaspersky jumps to the magpies

$1mil for FOJ? .You must be kidding .They are only paying Manly $300000 for the major sponsorship. They were not prepared to pay us $500000 to continue as a co sponsor so we not unnaturally let them walk .No financial loss there . -
Everyone Stand Up And Applaud Mark Neeld
kallangurdemon replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
I admire the loyalty and the optimism of the Neeld defenders and truly hope they are correct .But after 7 rounds we sit below a club that has been in exsistence for 1 year and another for 2 .Gee, they have made good ground on the 150 year start they gave us .It is not that we havent won a game -we havent even remotely looked like winning one .I find absolute frustation and emptiness in watching us play.I might be missing it all but I cant identify any discernible focus much less a game plan .We are shambolic .Why would you stand up and applaud Neeld ?.At best you can make a case for giving him more time to turn things around but I unlike others see no signs of any turnaround. Can anyone name a measurable positive to date ? -

what happened to Aspley Hornets ? -
It could be worse ,you could have a waist of 160 .

The Russian seems to have completely lost his leap and that makes it even more difficult agianst almost always taller ruckmen .He now struggles and as a result the midfield struggles .Maric is a pedestrian bigman and Vickery not much better ,so Saturday will be a huge indicator of where Jamar is presently at .

He lacks ticker .Simple as that .

Can anyone come up a higher free kick differential for an AFL/VFL game then the 23 to 1 tally during the third quarter of the West Coast game? Actually can anyone come up with a WA game where we finished in front in the free kick tally ? The crowd seems to umpire those games especially against the poorly supported (read MFC) clubs .

We sacked Energy Watch allegedly because of the (private )racial rantings of Polis .Energy Watch in turn sacked him also for reportedly the same reasons, clearing what you would would believe is the obstacle to reinstating the sponsorship. Is it the case that we would have terminated the sponsorship irrespective of the Polis racial outpouring because Energy Watch couldnt/would'nt meet its sponsorship obligations ? If this is the position perhaps our moral highground is actually a bit flat .

My 3 word player analysis V Disdain Lions
kallangurdemon replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
With the greatest respect to the wide eyed optimists on this site I long ago formed the view that Miller is indescribably inept.I have perused all lists to see if there is any other genuine nominations for the for the award of "2007 worst player on an AFL list".Sadly and tragically for the club there is not. However on a brighter note this year he didnt while unopposed hit the footy straight to a loitering opposition player in the goal square. It has become a joke. -
Brad Miller boots 6 for Sandringham!
kallangurdemon replied to NO MERGER's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is more than coincidence that the 2 games Miller has missed are the only 2 games we have won.Sadly he is just not good enough. -
Miller unfortunately is and has pretty much always been a complete dud. There is not one chance in a millilon that another club would give anything for him.He would struggle to get a game in the forward line at the Zebs.Dunne is probably the best option long term if he can toughen up.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 8
kallangurdemon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is the best I can come up with 6.Brad Miller .Kicked the footy not once but twice in the last quarter. 5. Brad Green.Dropped the footy while running unopposed not once but twice. 4.David Neitz. Kicked tthe footy in both the first and last quarters. 3.Daniel Bell. Pinpoint pass led to immediate goal. 2.Paul Johnson. Managed to avoid colliding with any opposition player for entire game. 1.Ryan Ferguson.Kept formidable injury record intact. Apart from that not many hilights. -
Is Melbourne's Season Over for 2007?
kallangurdemon replied to NO MERGER's topic in Melbourne Demons
The season was over after Geelong. Now we must concentrate on winning no more than 5 games. When we get to 5 play anyone, elevate rookies , put our guns on the long term injury list do anything but win a sixth game. Then we prepare for 150th year premiership celebration.Go Dees. -
Pickett's vicious tackle
kallangurdemon replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
There was nothing dangerous in Pickett following the classic style of wrapping up the player and bringing him to the ground. It wasnt late and that is why no downfield free was given. It was necessary as Cornes had the ball and Byron had to dispossess him. Only Byron can say whether it was intended to cause injury . He has always been hard but not malicious and i am disappointed that you even raised the suggestion of intent without there being a scintilla of evidence to support the assertion. It was just an unfortunate injury caused by a fierce but fair tackle Byron has been crucified because he as seen to charge and bump instead of laying a tackle. Now he will be villified for laying a tackle. He just cant win. IMO a copybook tackle which should be shown in slow motion to our insipid tacklers like Ward and Wheatley -
Apart from being a dead set [censored] he is also a dead set liar.
-
The problem with White is that since the King injury he has become timid and looks for the easy kick/mark.He plays without passion and has the distinct appearance of a player just going through the motions. He was ordinary last year and worse this year.He is apidly becoming an embarrassment.

Gee there are some major disappointments mentioned in these posts but Darren Cuthbertson is the one that really hurts. He was brought through the system after being zoned from Epping in a manner which suggested the Club saw him as a future star.He had a full season in the Twos and I recall him kicking 4 goals in a quarter in a final against Carlton reserves. He exploded on to the senior scene with 17 goals in 3 games including a b on g against Collingwood and a match winning 5 goals against Brisbane at the G.Then nothing;nothing at all. He had a short spell at Fitzroy and then returned to Epping.Robbie Walters kicked a couple of bags as a fast leading straight kicking full forward but his lack of size was always going to count against him .As an aside, he claimed at his sentence for larceny as a servant from the bank that his financial woes were caused by being delisted by Melbourne. So we get blamed for everything. The Cockatoo -Colins btothers were not disappointing because neither ever looked any good.A bit like the Rugolo brothers. The Cockies show how fortunate we are to have CAC and why Richard Griffiths is languishing with the QAFL
