  1. Btw, 'journey' is clearly the lingo being used by the FD. Journeys and storylines apparently. It sounds like the film industry.
  2. I think it was a semi-flippant comment to be honest. He meant he engrosses himself in the game (and in this case the rest of the competition), but there's a point where you have to focus on your own team.
  3. Great post, Hem. I thought it was the most assured I'd seen Bartlett too. I was a little underwhelmed by his public speaking early on, but I think he's really grown into that and I love that he doesn't interfere in FD matters. He's won me over and don't get me started about PJ.
  4. The one directed at Richmond by Roosy in his parting speech. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/paul-roos-says-melbourne-united-richmond-in-disarray-in-farewell-speech/news-story/115f12006df77c0be0f041f29f1e68e8
  5. Calm down, DD. I'm not sure that's warranted.
  6. I expect Goody to play his cards just as close to his chest as Roosy did. I read his reiteration that we're looking at the draft as a hint that we're looking at all options. Draft, trade everything. The way some people seem to take AFL professionals on their word is astoundingly naive. True to his word to who? The journalists? I wouldn't want him to be transparent in the media. I want him to act in the best interests of my club and that means not letting on anything.
  7. Yep, thanks, LT. Was put at pub trivia, so I missed your post CB.
  8. Haha, loved the whack from PJ directed at Collingwood. That's two whacks directed at two big Victorian clubs in the past 2 weeks.
  9. All I've heard out of the Jackson camp is something that I'm sure he wouldn't mind being posted here and that is that PJ is still loving Melbourne and has no plans to leave. I'd be signing him up on at least a 3 year deal, but for some reason they like their 1 year contracts.
  10. My then girlfriend is now my fiancee and she's no closer to converting. Obviously, since that post of mine in 2009 Hawthorn have had a modicum of success.
  11. I think the club realised this last off season.
  12. Geelong are also about to fall off a cliff. Dangerfield, Selwood and then who's their next A grader? Exactly. They don't have one. Not enough talent there to win a flag.
  13. Yeah, I meant Weller in the Freo deal and Pick 12 in the WC deal.
  14. It turns out the desperate club might be Hawthorn. That cliff edge is coming up. What were we saying, Fifty-5? Still don't know what they'll trade, but they'll get the deal done if they want him enough.
  15. They continue to be managed ineptly. And my Carlton mate constantly bangs on about how we're still a soft-bellied club. Well, at least we're on an upward trajectory. They're still in for some pain.
  16. Yep, he definitely did. Should play there more consistently. And you're right, we could exploit his hardness by running him through the midfield in the mould of those aforementioned players. Tank and concentration would be the major stumbling blocks there, but I wonder if that's what they're planning for him? He'd be quite a bit shorter than those three though.
  17. I've been thinking about Kent. Do you play him off half back or the wing most of the time and forgo a few goals from him? He did play very limited minutes in both positions this year, but I reckon he's always looked his best on the outside, streaming along a wing and being able to kick long. The long kicking enables him more margin for error with his disposal and given his pace is one of his biggesy assets, that's where I'd be playing him. Hopefully he can find some consistency in that spot too.
