  1. Having the flu at the moment, which caused me to miss Thursday night's game (wifey was on my case about exacerbating it by attending), I can't imagine trying to do high intensity exercise with this.
  2. I could be wrong, but Scott's comments I read were that they hadn't got it right the last few years, which is a reason to go even harder. I think it's their game plan and personnel, not their fitness at the pointy end.
  3. Yep, loading is a bit like the Tasmanian Tiger. FMD, you post some nonsense. Here's Chris Scott. You don't have to be Columbo to work out what he's saying here: "It's what we do during the middle period of the year. We double down, even more than we might have done in previous years," Scott said. "We might cost ourselves a little short-term, but we set up our program to be at our best when it counts. "If we finish ninth because we try to prime ourselves to be at our best later in the year, then we'll live with that. "We haven't been able to execute that over the last few years anyway. That's a reason to do it better."
  4. I don't know about that. I think they'll win 3 or 4 of their next 4 games and could even be ahead of us after the next month such is their draw.
  5. He's a clean as Oliver at ground balls as a rule. He didn't nail them last night, but we were rarely caught out defensively after the first quarter, so he executed his role.
  6. Bowey is struggling? He was perfectly fine tonight. Played his role.
  7. Head in the sand, mate. Staggering some are still fighting this. As has been noted, not everything will be plain sailing from here, but the heaviest of the loading is likely over. Tonight we were running on top of the ground and in waves. We won ground balls, got it to the outside and generally ran Brisbane off their feet.
  8. What are his groundball gets like? It's more than just hit outs mate and you know that.
  9. And gee whiz. Oliver runs our midfield, @binman. Petracca wouldn't get it half the time if Oliver wasn't giving it to him. Petracca has dynamic moments and could turn a GF as we've seen, but over the four quarters I'd have Oliver, but love Trac too. 😜
  10. Rivers to the wing. That's an interesting one @binman. All depends on his tank. I'd like to see him roll through the centre square too. As for lack of pressure, would love to know what our post clearance pressure numbers are like, because this would explain why we're so high for intercepts and how our defensive system still strangled teams in the first 10 rounds.
  11. Speaking as an ADDer, this new trend of fetishising ADD or autism or "neurodivergence" is bizarre and IMV pathetic. Fine to be empowered but fetishisation has taken it way too far. Also, I don't go around groping girls. Take some responsiblity for your actions ya nuffy.
  12. Brayshaw not rated elite as a half back? Interesting.
  13. And yet we were 10-0 with those same stats...
  14. Just saw that on Instagram. So 1.5 mill a year. Would completely undermine their list management.
  15. He's shown enough times now that he can take a very good mark, one grab too... Dazzle, it's a good move. I wonder if we'll see it now that Max is out and we need a taller deep target.
  16. You're kidding right? It won us a flag and had us 10 zip 3 weeks ago. Nothing wrong with the system. It's the ability to execute that has gone missing, clearly due to a heavy loading block since Round 8.
  17. It's a bugger about Gawny, but it gives him a chance to get on top of all his other niggles. I'm excited by the opportunity it provides others to step up. It also gives our midfield mix a different look. A less predictable look. When Max went down in 2017, we became less predictable and were better for it. Where losing him will hurt is around the ground in the air. Can a Weideman step up?
  18. If we had two KPFs who could hold down their position, it'd be a great luxury to be able to try Luke through the midfield. He's so good when the ball hits the ground. Fumbled a bit today, but practically everyone did.
  19. 43 disposals at 81%. Really? He was creative with hands and his feet today and hit the scoreboard. Incredible post...
  20. That's an interesting breakdown So we're actually 8th for free kicks and have just given away less than many others. Eye-opening. We do well not to give away free kicks. I wonder if that's improved on last year...
  21. So we've gone from being the fittest side in the competition to being overrun in second halves three weeks in a row, and people are trying to argue we're not loading? Come off it.
  22. Best player in the competition. Superstar.
  23. The guy who pantsed us again, who hasn't since May came to our club, did it again today, in the form of Cox. Turner going off at 3QT almost meant we'd struggle to stay with them unless we could take some contested marks and take the pressure off our defence. Again, a team got on top of us when Petty was off the ground for an extended period of time. Also, does Steven May stop our guys being caught on the wrong side of the contest and letting the ball get out back repeatedly? I dunno. Maybe. Be interesting to see how our defensive basics stand up when May is back in the team.
  24. That's actually a very good idea. If we decide to go with a smaller forwardline in the coming weeks, this could be absolutely worth it. I have a recollection of JT mentioning this possibility when we first drafted him.
  25. Oh well. Demonland wouldn't be Demonland without OD being overly negative. And what's that argument?
