  1. Lots of noise about us today. Lyon. Brad Green. Shane Crawford. This nugget is depressing: https://twitter.com/SamLandsberger/status/1279683312336789504?s=20
  2. Our lowest ebb in my time supporting (30 years now) is easily the end of the Bailey and start of the Neeld era. We are not there yet but the wheels look very close to falling off. When we lost to Hawthorn in round 3 two years ago, it seemed then that something was amiss. We got bullied and destroyed that day. I know it's small in the grander scheme of things, and we ultimately had a strong year, but something about that game stands out for me. Along with Round 23 2017. What we've seen last year and to start this year seem to be the long term effects of those specific matches. Again, I know they are isolated matches in a large data set, but we got an early look in at what the absolute worst of this team looks like. I'd argue we haven't "regressed". We have regressed from a peak in 2018, sure, but I think that realistically, we are seeing the true reality of this coach and team. Last year the argument was if 2018 was the anomaly. It most definitely was.
  3. bing, this is a cop out we've been seeing on here since the Daniher days. Oliver had a brain fade and yes that isn't a grand reflection of Goodwin's coaching but the performance is ultimately symbolic of it. The pressure team's put us under, the structure, the transition, the defensive breakdowns are clearly, unequivocally a reflection of the coaching. Oliver had a bad game. That's fine and it happens. But let's not give Goodwin a pass here. And Oliver isn't the reason we lost.
  4. realistically richmond was a 8-9 goal better team tonight. without their injuries and we don't get close. we are at full strength. danger signs.
  5. This is a blend of 2012 Neeld and 2014 Roos era football. We will finish bottom 4. Bookmark that [censored].
  6. No. Oliver handballs to his feet. That was Oliver's fault.
  7. Worth noting we are pretty much at full strength.
  8. this is 100% structural. we do the same [censored] thing every single time. EVERY SINGLE TIME. we then get absolutely smoked on the transition against decent teams. This is a football lesson. Goodwin is out of his element coaching at AFL level. This is 90s-era football being coached in a completely different football era.
  9. 8 inside 50s for 2 scoring shots. richmond 3 entries, 2 shots on goal.
  10. perfect. at least now we have an excuse for not scoring.
  11. yes it's easy to be confident when your opposition is missing a bunch of players.
  12. Richmond will beat us comfortably imo. They have started sslowly but still have depth across the field. Their field kicking when on is up there with Hawthorn and Geelong.
  13. AVB keeps his spot. But Bennell gets dropped after one game. And then doesn't get a recall after a 4 goal reserves hitout. fmd.
  14. in all seriousness it actually is.
  15. This is it. IMO We are on the edge of either breaking through and doing a Geelong of 2007, starting slowly and then just destroying a team to get the season going, or we just clunk along and eventually crash. Last year even with all of our injuries we were dominating matches in key stats but couldn't win. Even in round 2 against Geelong we were down by 28 points early in the 3rd, went forward like 20 times and couldn't score. Geelong went forward 5 times in the third quarter and scored 5 goals. Suddenly it's a 10 goal deficit. We then lose by 80 points. It was symbolic of the entire season. This year has been exactly the same. We win the ball everywhere but don't convert. There will not be an in between imo. We will either start smoking teams, or we will finish bottom 4.
  16. A Victorian hub is the only viable way forward imo
  17. Looking forward to a slog, Richmond to be down one player from quarter time, we win inside 50s and clearances but barely scrape 50 points. Tigers by 17.
