Umps have started

Still a third of the season to go. Finals are stitched up. Top 4 would be a plus. But we don't want to be more than 1-2 games off forth and certainly don't want to lose too much percentage. 5th and 6th not the end of the world but an away game would be guaranteed against Port or Brisbane towards GF. Still think Melbourne Bulldogs and Brisbane are a league above the rest, even Geelong. Sydney is a smokey as are Port.The top 6 in Bulldogs Melbourne Brisbane Geelong Port and Sydney, the flag is between them. Eagles and GWS not a chance.

I can handle losing to GWS and even Adelaide in Adelaide. But losing to Collingwood... I think that says a lot. Our form since the Brisbane game has been very average. Collingwood is stupendously average.

I think this is an overreaction. We defended well despite GWS destorying us on the outside. Our problem is scoring. Pure and simple. We are a super defensive team. Tighten up a bit and we win today. Goodwin has gone from a super offensive coach in 2018 to a defensive one. This is Roos-esque football we are playing. Giants played better and deserved the win. But we were well below our best and still could have won. Ultimately beaten at our own game. Not the end of the world.

Statistically we're not doing too badly. How we *look* is a different story. TMacs checkside kick from 50 out preceded three GWS goals. Our pressure is very poor. But we are defending okay. Not out of reach. Unlikely, but not impossible. Let's back them in. Our Brisbane game looked ominous at half time.

Actually the argument is they could earn more based on purchase intent of fans, attendance, broadcasting etc. Pre covid of course. And besides, a decent place in a nice area down their is not cheap. Most players earn less than 250k and that's only for a few years. Few players are buying million dollar properties. And no player could afford a place in Sorrento or Portsea, or really nice pockets of Mt Martha.

Surely aligns with plans on a home base. Something must be in the pipeline.
