  1. A few in this thread completely oblivious to how long and tough the recruitment process is for a CEO, let alone the CEO for an organisation such as the AFL. That this bloke sat "down the hall" is completely irrelevant: only a consultancy firm could fairly and reasonably assess and audit the candidates next to selection criteria. Sure, for the team leader of the car park security, you might end up with a boys pick and a tap on the shoulder. We're talking about a fairly meticulous process. Most CEOs are hired from within, either through promotion, or succession plans. They still have to do their due diligence. There's already nuffies on Twitter starting with the "aNoThEr mALe cEO". Well yeah, he was probably the best candidate. We're not talking about a coffee barista here. It's the CEO of arguably the most politically and socially influential entertainment brand in the country. As if they're going to just go with "one of the boys", just 'cause.
  2. Collingwood's flag to lose. Geelong and Melbourne only genuine threats. Don't think we have the pace or polish to beat them in the big dance unfortunately.
  3. praha replied to sue's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was in AFL Members. I'd estimate it was where 70% of Richmond supporters on the night were sitting. And they outnumbered Melbourne supporters in the area 10 to 1. But I swear we were louder and way more "into it", the few of us that were sitting there. When Oliver kicked the goal at the end of the third, it's the loudest I've ever heard the AFL Reserve from Melbourne supporters. It was insane. In the fourth quarter it felt like *we* outnumbered them 10 to 1. Overall I'd say the crowd was 55:45 in favour of Richmond. That's my assessment from spending time in both AFL Reserve and MCC with a mate for the first half of the third. That's really good all things considered. We need a similar turnout when we play Collingwood.
  4. We were average for 2.5 quarters. We got on top when the Tigers tired. We are well off our best atm imo. BUT, it was good to finally beat a big club in front of a big crowd in a tight game.
  5. 83k. I was way off. Loudest melbourne home game crowd since...?
  6. well that was the loudest I've heard a melbourne crowd in a long time
  7. Every single goal is so [censored] hard
  8. Richmond rarely lose when Jack plays like this
  9. Langdon with a free JVR only to ignore him because he can't kick on his opposite.
  10. It doesn't matter if we win tonight. Unless our game strategy significantly adjusts and can counter half decent pressure, we'll barely scrape into finals.
  11. he is smoking them. just not much to hit going forward
  12. this is exactly how we started the game
  13. Richmond average 75 points a game and have 52 to half time.
  14. Our tackling is [censored] weak. They get a clean handball off every time. Richmond bury us into the ground. That's the difference. We have zero mongrel this year.
  15. Every single one of our goals comes via China. We have to work so damn hard.
  16. Pressure gauge must go up a notch on Goodwin. We are wasting this squad. No pace. No pressure. Hardwick giving Goodwin an absolute coaching lesson. Happens way too often.
  17. Richmond win this comfortably. Not even close.
  18. Richmond at 60% F50 efficiency is [censored] embarrassing. They are one of the worst scoring teams in the league.
  19. This group is all Hollywood
  20. teams ramp up the pressure and we turn to water. same as last year.
  21. When I said last week we looked like 2019 levels in our loses I was ridiculed. This is 2019 levels.
  22. Cumberland an early candidate for the year's first Kent Kingsley Award For Spuds That Play Well Against Melbourne
  23. 63% f50 efficiency to 36%
  24. Case in point. How the [censored] did they get that goal
  25. Richmond looks like scoring every time they go forward. just like essendon.
