We're [censored] in this.
-
In 20 minutes,we had 5 goals kick on us in 9 minutes, and then 11 minutes of fantastic defensive pressure
-
Leaner, stronger, smarter. Has looked good since the first pre-season game.
-
Hunt has 5 possessions. I think all 5 have been part of a string that led to a goal. He looked Fyfe-like kicking that goal.
-
Hunt has 5 of the best possessions you could want from a kid with <50 games.
-
Lol good quarter.
-
It's actually 5 scoring (2.3) shots from turnovers for Melbourne to Adelaide's three (for thtee goals).
-
Three goals from half forward turnovers. Two were unforced turnovers due to poor kicks under zero pressure.
-
Oh well. I guess 2016 will just be another average year. Wonder if we'll still be "improving" and "developing" in 2017.
-
Third goal from an error across half back. Two of those errors were unforced.
-
Football lesson so far. Called it. What happens when they kick with the wind?
-
That was embarrassing. Three possessions to Walker, long kick from 50 against the wind, post high. We are being exposed.
-
The Adelaide theme song makes me want to strip down and get a Southern Cross tattoo.
-
"Multicultural event", apparently. There's some Indian band singing soccer anthems. Meanwhile, I'm surrounded by old, white, Adelaide supporters who are downing scotch and cokes.
-
Well it's pretty clear that's how it'll go today. I doubt we'll have a low-scoring defensive grind. That's how I see it.
-
Ultimately, we'll need to be extremely efficient forward if we are to get close. It could be a shootout...or it could be a blowout. Our forwards not performing is more likely than our backline stopping their attackers. We'll need a well-rounded, balanced team performance. A defensive game won't get it done. They'll eventually push past our inexperience. I say we try to run them into the ground, apply hard pressure pressure pressure, and hit the scoreboard hard. Naturally. Winnable, but like I said earlier, I smell an old fashion football lesson coming up.

I fear Adelaide will give us a football lesson today. Today will be a good test of Roos' coaching credentials: do we stay in touch and fight to live another day, or do we fold and let a good-but-not-great team toy with us? Do we turn a corner, or do we buckle and give up like in 2014 and for most of the second half of 2015? Let's see where we are as a team. Either we're well on our way, or we severely overestimate where the club is at.

Better quality.

In all honesty I don't mind it, I was joking initially but yeah, adds something else to Watts' game, and I love the way he takes it on.
-
Same last week with the Hawthorn game. Terrible Thursday night scheduling by the AFL. Recommend using a VPN and signing up to watchafl.afl.com.au $24 a month I think for every game.

Don't have an issue with it. Dictates different strategy from our mids and is a good challenge for them. He's no worse than Alastair Nicholson/Pederson/Dawes/PJ/Miller in the ruck o_O lol
-
Pitiful thing to say. Even if said without malice, he was drafted in at a bad time and worked his damn ass off. The "face" of the club during its dark times were others, a few who I dare not say here.
-
It could be more than just performance. If anything Roos is deeply philosophical and mental. It might be a personality issue for the likes of ANB and Newton.
-
Tough viewing, but compare to the Daniher years. He'd have gotten a game simply because he's a stalwart, not because it's best for the team (think Yze in his last few years). Maybe it's for the best. Gotta back in the coaches.

The guy is very intelligent. It would be beneath him to work with any of the neanderthals commentating football these days.
