  1. Third goal from an error across half back. Two of those errors were unforced.
  2. Football lesson so far. Called it. What happens when they kick with the wind?
  3. That was embarrassing. Three possessions to Walker, long kick from 50 against the wind, post high. We are being exposed.
  4. The Adelaide theme song makes me want to strip down and get a Southern Cross tattoo.
  5. "Multicultural event", apparently. There's some Indian band singing soccer anthems. Meanwhile, I'm surrounded by old, white, Adelaide supporters who are downing scotch and cokes.
  6. Well it's pretty clear that's how it'll go today. I doubt we'll have a low-scoring defensive grind. That's how I see it.
  7. Ultimately, we'll need to be extremely efficient forward if we are to get close. It could be a shootout...or it could be a blowout. Our forwards not performing is more likely than our backline stopping their attackers. We'll need a well-rounded, balanced team performance. A defensive game won't get it done. They'll eventually push past our inexperience. I say we try to run them into the ground, apply hard pressure pressure pressure, and hit the scoreboard hard. Naturally. Winnable, but like I said earlier, I smell an old fashion football lesson coming up.
  8. I fear Adelaide will give us a football lesson today. Today will be a good test of Roos' coaching credentials: do we stay in touch and fight to live another day, or do we fold and let a good-but-not-great team toy with us? Do we turn a corner, or do we buckle and give up like in 2014 and for most of the second half of 2015? Let's see where we are as a team. Either we're well on our way, or we severely overestimate where the club is at.
  9. In all honesty I don't mind it, I was joking initially but yeah, adds something else to Watts' game, and I love the way he takes it on.
  10. Same last week with the Hawthorn game. Terrible Thursday night scheduling by the AFL. Recommend using a VPN and signing up to watchafl.afl.com.au $24 a month I think for every game.
  11. Don't have an issue with it. Dictates different strategy from our mids and is a good challenge for them. He's no worse than Alastair Nicholson/Pederson/Dawes/PJ/Miller in the ruck o_O lol
  12. Pitiful thing to say. Even if said without malice, he was drafted in at a bad time and worked his damn ass off. The "face" of the club during its dark times were others, a few who I dare not say here.
  13. It could be more than just performance. If anything Roos is deeply philosophical and mental. It might be a personality issue for the likes of ANB and Newton.
  14. Tough viewing, but compare to the Daniher years. He'd have gotten a game simply because he's a stalwart, not because it's best for the team (think Yze in his last few years). Maybe it's for the best. Gotta back in the coaches.
  15. The guy is very intelligent. It would be beneath him to work with any of the neanderthals commentating football these days.
  16. Hmm bit rough I think. We all had the same thing to say about Jetta, Gawn, Watts at some point in their careers. Jetta is proof that you can turn things around with the right people around you. Grimes was a "good ordinary footballer" in a terrible side, but so were a few others who have improved. Pederson was a joke for a while there but he's a solid contributor now. Not the future, sure, but a required depth player. He was nothing more than a filler a few years back, taking up space until someone better came along. Matt Jones had improved tenfold this year before he got injured. He's a different player this year. Ordinary footballs in bad teams often become solid players in solid/good/great teams. There are plenty of examples throughout history. Grimes I feel is the kind of guy that can really step it up and become a good player. He might turn it around. Sometimes depending on the character, it's hard to be your best when everyone around you is right at the bottom of the barrel. I'm betting on him being really influential when he comes back into the side. I just have a feeling. He was primed to be a young star when he started. We essentially got him for Travis Johnstone and at the time we were all loving him. He dropped away and fell off after injuries, and came back to full fitness around the time the club was in the midst of arguably its worst ever era. The fact the club muffed the development of so many players, yet he still managed to be a "good ordinary football" whilst taking on the captaincy of a club with no leadership and no talent I think says a lot about his character. He deserves another chance. I completely sympathise with his frustration. Probably more than any other player at the club who had to put up with the crap the club put the players through from 2010-2013.
  17. In the journo's defense, it's in the management's best interests to deny it.
  18. Should have beaten them last year. Adelaide is playing good football atm but this is very winnable. Beating a good side that's on a role would be amazing for this team's development. We've gone to another level the last two times we played them. Must win imo.
  19. Astonishing how Hawthorn is first on the ladder more than half-way through the year despite looking more vulnerable than they have at any other point since 2011. If they win the flag again this year, it would be an indictment on the league's equalisation measures.
  20. It's not undermanned. Inexperienced, sured, but get used to the cattle currently out there. That's our backline for the next decade.
  21. Well yeah. But it's not like Melbourne has been the one to prove that right.
  22. Fremantle, St Kilda and Carlton are far from probable wins. We *should* beat all three but don't match up well with them and in the right conditions they could beat us. St Kilda is far from probably. It's more like a probably loss considering their form and where we're playing them. I would be very surprised if we went into any of these games bar Gold Coast as hot favourites.
