  1. The moment of final commitment. The moment when full focus is required, to take the ball cleanly... without fumbling, even under Xtreme heat.
  2. The ground level does not require a lot of space... as the main building is above this level. And secure below ground car parking as well. Ground level would only be entrance way and some undercover car spaces, and deliveries. . Which side of roadway is being altered?
  3. That's exactly my vision... That the oval would be aligned with the same exact orientation as the McG... and the same playing surface shape and size. If you study the google image supplied in plan view and in elevation view you will start to see the concept. Ha !!! my first successful posted screenshot... This Image is to show an elevation angle from 'Olympic Boulevard'... showing the street view to Richmond Station platform levels and elevations, to help visualise how a building could be... The building would be about 50Mtrs west of this image,,, but the image is to show how a building with basement car-park and storage could be built, and with some ground level car-parking and entrances to the Building. I'm imagining a 5 level building... which would include a secure basement level for in-house parking and storage facilities. Extending up to a Promenade level, with an entrance out onto the Richmond-Station/McG Promenade... The Promenade would be built over the Station and Train services, extending all the way along the rail line, to I imagine Gate-1 of the Ponsford Stand. L/5_ Promenade Flr... with entrance out onto the Rail Promenade. L/4_ 2nd Flr... just above what is Station Platform levels. L/3_ 1st Flr... just lower than Station Platform levels... approx' rail-track level. L/2_ Ground floor entrances, deliveries and parking. L/1_ Basement car-park - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This is the site I'm referring to for our Building to go on, showing the Tramline and stops on the western side of Picture, and a Richmond-Station city end entrance at the end of the pathway on right-hand side of Pic'... We would I think, need 4 Above-Ground, levels for our home base. The level above the Tram-Line Catenary, would bridge over 'Olympic Boulevard'... allowing a raised deck viewing area across Gosch's Paddock, with a small Ground-Level Building attached to house Training Facilities, with massage tables, Doctors/Physio room, etc. This image would show the view looking back west at our Home Base building... which would bridge over this street-scape, extending across to Gosch's Paddock. Allowing one or two levels of viewing, one open-air deck, with cafe... and perhaps another viewing area upstairs... a behind glass windows area, which would house a Bar, Lounge & eatery. This image shows what would be the view, adjacent to our Home-Base Ground-Level Entrance & undercover carpark. Looking across 'Olympic Boulevard' toward our Training Oval... around the Wing area. The Tram Catenary seen above, would be suspended under our buildings concrete slab, which extends out across the street and over the footpath bordering Gosch's. So the concrete Deck would run across the boulevard, and past the trees, extending over and sheltering the footpath which abuts Gosch's. The Deck could be built with 3 openings through it, allowing the 3 trees to remain and grow through and above the outdoor Viewing deck. The deck would have access down to 'Gosch's'... where a Training and Medical Room Suite would be located. I see the potential for two upper-level viewing areas, One Open and another above that, Enclosed. .
  4. Here's one or two, he could maybe model it on ???
  5. ? HaHaHa... I miss that Ol' fella !! Humor in sport, and not pretending to be too smart for their socks.
  6. Nor hidden a a treelined cul-de-sac... off broadway. We are not the stuffy Melbourne club. We should be out & about for all to see, and know its us. High Profile site. We are the original Australian Rules footy club, for Hells sake.. the Melbourne Footy Club. Where all are welcome, to come and to enjoy. a Three or Four story building, adjoining Richmond station, and bridging over the 'Olympic Boulevard' Tram lines and footpaths, & that peers over and through the trees surrounding Gosch's Paddock is Us. Building across Olympic Boulevard is easier and cheaper to do, than to build above and over the Jolimont Rail-line. And especially so, in conjunction with the building over of the Richmond Railyards and lines... that will join the McG to the Richmond station, in near future.
  7. We must be based next to the Richmond Railway Station. Our social hub has to be right at the station and overlook our training facility. Even if we have to build over Olympic Boulevard to do that. Easy access to public transport is a MUST. For dining patrons and for our supporters with disability. Not to mention functions before and after. Its time this Demon outfit was turned into a True Blue Aussie-Rules CLUB. for all people. An Social & Office setup above the section of tram tracks that turn past the Clay Tennis Courts of Tennis Australia would benefit public transport users as it will allow some undercover shelter for Hot Summer'y or Winter'y conditions, servicing the precinct. It would need be built Over the Tram tracks & the section of parkland at opposite 112 Olympic Boulevard Melbourne Vic, and across Olympic Boulevard right to the edge of Gosch's Paddock... Overseeing the training grounds. https://www.google.com/maps/place/112+Olympic+Blvd,+Melbourne+VIC+3004/@-37.8243201,144.9869602,418m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x6ad642943affc621:0x23259ce926eaf48e!8m2!3d-37.8245886!4d144.9868238!5m1!1e4 .
  8. https://www.afldraftcentral.com.au/2018/11/12/afl-draft-central-final-2018-power-rankings/ Chayce Jones. Riley Collier-Dawkins. Xavier Duursma. Jye Caldwell. Liam Stocker. Sam Sturt http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-11-20/callum-twomeys-2018-phantom-draft JYE CALDWELL. RILEY COLLIER-DAWKINS. CHAYCE JONES. ZAK BUTTERS. XAVIER DUURSMA. NED McHENRY. I wouldn't mind bidding on these players,,, from their part of the draft... P10 - 20 ish.
  9. ... maybe something like this ? GWS give us they're 2018 P-11... & they're 2019 2nd Rnd pick. D's give GWS our 2019 1st Rnd pick... & our 2018 P-28... & our 2019 3rd Rnd pick
  10. I think we need 2 or 3... U-18's introduced onto our list... to follow thru behind our young guns, of Viney Oliver Angus, etc. I'd be starting to form that second wave of newbies, as I've stated before earlier in the season... to come on behind our new breed. And coincidentally, just as Jason Taylor has just indicated on the Demons website... needless to say, I do like the way JT operates. I think we're in great hands, between him and Viney Snr.
  11. That's interesting, you mentioned GWS's P-11... as i browsed the draft order last night, and imagined P-11 as being dee-sirable, and maybe getable ?? Now you post this. Its like a sort of dejavue for moi. .
  12. Or simply our 2019 1st Rnd pick, for a late 2018 1st Rnd pick, and maybe some small change... keeping our P28. Some clubs with many early picks, might like to spread them out, entering the 2019 draft, with extra's ?
  13. I thought they aren't running at all Dc... but more power-walking, 'back to the future'. 'ere's your Guy Dc... 'strutin past his electorates'. Blue-ribbon team in-tow.
  14. ... good call JD. Lets have our big guys looking more neanderthal & hungry, by the time the real comp starts. grow facial hair, then, no need to slip-slop-slap the face
  15. I have no idea whooz right, but stick a handle on it & we could have a Trident... boom boom tsh. Now I have no idea about this crop of players, so I am going with a lucky dip... according to odd surnames. Many a player with oddball names turn into topline players... they have had to bare the torment thru school, of being hamstrung with names to pick on. So here is a list of oddball name players who might have some inner strength to get them thru... >>> In Alphabeta order... Zak Butters, Zac Foot, Brayden Ham, Irving Mosquito N/A, Tom Sparrow, Tyron Smallwood, James Rowbottom... ?
  16. ... just thought I'd thankyou now. But, where will he go ?
  17. Can someone in the study of the 2018 Young Guns, please let us know of any with X-Factor ... that might be available for the Dees picks? I've just read of Curtis Taylor... http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-11-17/the-next-lecras-the-big-raps-on-draft-prospect- Who else might be available with this rare 'X' ability ?
  18. We have to stop thinking of making the top 8 as a WIN.... it is not. Top 8 is half (50%) of the competition... Top 5 is a win for us. and is a realistic chance of going further from there. raising our EyEs, early season... dare to dream. dare to struggle... dare to WIN. .
  19. Its really about, in my mind, taking the game to the people... around the country. I do not know whats in the AFL's minds. .
  20. IF, in the AFL, we played each other once, the Finals Series could start in August... leaving September for the Play offs... and for some S.O.Origin games, also.
  21. I'd prefer a top 5, or 6 finalists.. and a best of 3 , or 5, Grand Final playoffs... rolling around the country. of course playing in both contestants home states. It would be good if the decider at least, was played at the McG. Short up the finals series, and lengthen the playoffs. This will give us the best of twilight playoffs, Night games and the traditional Day Grand Final. Just the schedule would be less certain. This will counteract the blowouts, like in 1988. The scores could even be accumulating each match, until its definitive.
