We won't be using our top Pick for a Key Forward.. nor Ben Brown. We will be after skilled runners. All round flank players. Back, centre and forward.

Love to get your preferred option DV, how many tennis courts do we need? Presumably owned by the state govt and leased to tennis australia? (or something like that) How to get it...? The Punt rd options we just buy. My Preferred option, is the last option in my post... where we have two ovals on Gosch's Paddock, (with the rectangular Pitch moved out to the 'Old Scotch Oval' site), and a building as close to the Richmond Railway Station as is possible. So we would probably need to build over at least 4 of those Clay Tennis courts, if not all 8 of them. We could feasibly use the whole area of the Clay Tennis Courts, including the car-park behind these courts... which would allow us to build right up to the Railway easements. And still build above and across Olympic Boulevard, over and onto Gosch's Paddock... which would be around the Wing position of the To be established Oval... where the current Rectangular Pitch is, seen on the Map Image. 'The Punt Rd Options', as you mention, could work... but i think to get in much more passing trade, for cafeteria, and club shop... and just catching visitors off the Trains, who decide at last second to drop in... because its just so close and convenient. This is how I think we will attract much more interest and supporters, with a home base so prominent and convenient........ And we could get back the Thursday, Or sometimes Wednesday evening Training Run @ Gosch's Oval 1... prior to our Teams announcement, with Hamburgers and Sausage sizzling, as we announce Dee teams. It might not attract those who are swishing 30Yr old Scotches in the long room at the 'G', or maybe at home... but THee, are already well catered for, anyway. .

Weigh down the back of the car, by puttin some junk in the trunk, hey.

You would think a professional player wanting to be kept on the list, would be doing everything to improve... especially his kicking skills. On both sides of the body. I would be hiring, or asking for help from AFL respected kickers, outside of Training times, in my own time.

The other side of this coin, as we are still building this club and list, is you cannot throw big money at our young players Prematrturely. You pay them what they have deserved. Over pay them for little, and you end up with the situation like Trac or Wattshisface. Now Lewis has earned his playing coach role and payments... and holds a % of our salary cap in a good place for the club... as it wants to recruit others along the journey. This year will allow us more cap space with Lew finishing, to use on hopefully a Big Free-Agency name ??? my hopes anyway. .

And lacking., 'them Not worrying, about Not winning'... because we've been so poor in many games. (non scoreboard pressure) A stroll in the park, if you will.

Thanks Radar. I've been looking for this post, Re the idea of the Pick swaps. I couldn't find it earlier today. Of course we would be trying to win all games, but players who are carrying long-term niggles need to go off to get them right... Or fixed up by the surgeon. We don't need to find that old manic form of last year, now. It would only be for supporters to hold faith. The longer term skills & abilities of our list, is far more concerning than our early 2019 season form, which is now history.

Its not about not using our 1st Rnd pick, this year in the draft... But trying to turn our 1st Rnd pick into Two 1st Rnd picks, for using this year.

I think his bigger efforts would have to be heard, rather than seen so much, these days I reckon his worth, is both on-field, and of course Off it. And both instructional. A coach in the making.

I agree with your sentiments in this thread generally. I think TMc is battling a number of things. I think he's playing physically hindered. And also the coaches have wrecked his early season form, by playing him deep. TMc is not a No 1 tall forward... he's a tall flanker, who has a big engine, and loves the freedom to run and run, and hit packs, coming in unannounced. His best work is outside F50, and also when he has the opportunity to storm back into F50, with the play going on around. TMc should be playing Most of his game, in between the Arcs... where his Marking and gut-run is a weapon, for Us. Weide is the closest thing we have to a natural Full-Forward... but needs cover in the form of Preuss, to shelter the young man. With Hunt bedside these two, deep... or on the flank. Hunt is not a midfielder. He needs to be looking at the ball coming toward him, and push up to it, and with the freedom of not sticking as much to a defences structure. He's enjoying being liberated from 'to tight' a structure, and associated responsibilities, IMO. He needs to hunt the ball. Agree.. Tracca has been allowed to just be a sheep, and not lead the term in any way, over his seasons with us. He has been given plenty of freedom, and little responsibility, IMO. Gifted games. He has been sheltered, with not enough appearances at Casey. I am concerned, he will turn out to be soft mentally, and just play as a front-runner. Apprenticeship well and truly over Trac... to to get that digit extracted, and pull your weight.

Gary Lyon... Then try Robbie Flower... the epitome of what the Brownlow is meant to be. Brad Hardy. pfft.. next.!
-
I'm hoping for a Vulture. As long as he doesn't become a Kea.
-
I think Hore was very close to playing in Darwin, but because its Collinwood this week, on Q/B, they probably decided to give him a bit more time, and be 100% for Monday.
-
Yep not Robbie's fault at all... but a reflection of just how poor we had become as a club. Starting from Tilbrook to Diterich to the Elliot's, back to Diterich. Forever turning in smaller circles, toward the middle.
-
Lets hope this year we can trade ours... up into a 1st Rnd'r, 2019. https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-06-04/indicative-draft-order-after-round-11

'OP', is starting to rise again, in footy this year. I hope TMc doesn't have, this ailment.?
-
So did Robbie Flower, in the 1st half of his career... but that didn't help us win more games than lose.
-
Only in recent weeks, has he been consistently hitting to strong advantage, 'DD'.
-
That would just be plain dumb ignorance, 'dc'... based from ? bias, bigotry ???

Yes. I agree with him wholeheartedly. A little empathy could have been shared a bit later on, in the dressing rooms... I have no problem showing outward sympathy or empathy, and warmth, to friends, or those in need. But regarding the Mfc... we need to exhibit some sterner stuff. To change the nature of our club. As this club is overly-endowed with 'softer emotions' as a politically correct imagery. To learn to be more hardened competitors, we really need to lose some of this compulsive outward softness. As it interferes with us being combative, and having a 'take-no-prisoners' sort of attitude, ON-Field. So Yes our boys become men more slowly, generally, at Melbourne... because we lavish the softer emotions too readily on those within our club... spoiling our kids, instead of hardening them for the battles ahead. There is plenty of life ahead, after their footy careers... to become all Warm and Cuddly. # Stop softening the Demons.! .
