  1. Thankyou Wiseblood, I had no idea that was speculation. Here I was thinking he had sat in on a meeting between Todd & GWS list manager.
  2. We've found some common ground here ProDee. I to am excited about Max King and what he can bring, and that he will eventually hopefuly fill the forward/2nd ruck role that we currently lack. We also agree that he's still some time off being able to play at AFL level. For me, given Casboult is 26 in March 2016, it provides an option for us there meaning King can develop with no pressure at VFL level. But I guess this is where we disagree. If we aren't able to get Casboult or that type of forward in this trade period, then I agree with you that Pedersen would be our best bet. And I also agree that one of Dunn or Garland should be moved forward as a versatile forward. I'd actually be happy for it to alternate depending on our match ups down back. For example against at team like North who play a lot of talls, I'd rather Dunn back and Garland forward. Where as against the Dogs with a smaller forward line I'd have Garland back and Dunn forward. It will be interesting to see what our forward structure is next year.
  3. Haha, I think you may be onto something!
  4. Spoke to my source this morning who talked with Dawes last night. Dawes was asured by the Dees yesterday that he's going nowehere. Said that there's no way in heck that he'd go to Carlton or Essendon.
  5. And Hale, Sinclair? Watch Ceglar take Hale's spot for the Hawks next year. Casboult is no less agile then any of those above. I agree we need agile marking talls. We also need a 2nd key forward who can chop out in the ruck.
  6. Don't disagree with you. Just looking at what it may cost. Also think our 3rd rounder is probably unders. That's why I hope S.O.N.S is right.
  7. And the Hawks played 4 talls in the Grand Final and Eagles 3 talls throughout the year, yet you want to copy a team that was knocked out week 1 of the finals?
  8. Put some of the figures rather then percentages in there so as it's not to misleading. Some of them I couldn't be bothered looking up. People can use statistics to prove anything. 40% of people know that! I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall hear. CASBOULT IS NOT AS GOOD AS HOGAN!!!! I was never and have never said he was. Someone's arguement against Casboult was he doesn't get enough of the ball. I simply pointed out that he only touches it 4 times a game less then Hogan and somehow some muppets have seen that as me saying Casboult is equal to Hogan which is utter bull! IMO Casboult would be a good foil for Hogan. Another big body who can crash packs, take a grab and kick goals while also being able to relieve in the ruck. He's an upgrade on Dawes who in turn could be sent to Casey. If others have a better alternative for a player who can do those things remembering they need to provide adequte support for Gawn, then I'm all ears. There may be better options then Casboult, but he sounds the most realistic option out there at the moment.
  9. I did make a comparison, a comparison that he gets a grand total of 1 less possession a quarter then Hogan after you said he doesn't get enough of the ball.If you could point out how that's me saying that Casboult is just as good as Hogan i'd love to hear it?
  10. None is my thought. Only free agents i expect to see moving are Dangerfield (contract matched), Scott Selwood & Leuenberger.
  11. Would love it if that's correct. I've been thinking if we were to get Pick 19 off Gold Coast for Howe that we'd likely have to trade that for Bugg & Pick 27.
  12. Already have 6 list spots available. Trade out Howe and Toumpas makes 8 and delist Hunt & Terlich makes 10.Trade in Kennedy, Bugg, Melksham and Casboult takes it back down to 6, pick up three kids in the national draft and upgrade Vandenberg + Harmes it leaves you with 1 senior list spot for a DFA and two rookie draft selections (Vanders & Harmes old spots) to use where we may re-rookie Hunt and pick up Lovett?
  13. Which is the basis of the whole argument. Casboult is a better option then Dawes as he can take a contested mark and go into the ruck. Two things Dawes struggles with.
  14. And which of Hogan, Dawes or Garlett will relieve Gawn in the ruck?
  15. Casboult doesn't play in the ruck. He plays forward and pinch hits in the ruck. Was also a rookie elevation rather then someone good enough to be mini drafted a year early.Remember we're looking for someone to compliment Hogan and fit in with our structure. Not someone to be Hogan's equal. You want to see Dunn or Tom McDonald going up against Goldstein in the ruck when Gawn needs a rest be my guest.
  16. Hogan averages a grand total of 4 more possessions a game, yet i don't hear you complaining about his lack of the ball?
  17. Roos said it on either his season review or one of his Roos views. I will attempt to find it and put it up here for you.
  18. Swap of our 2nd & 3rd round picks for their 2nd & 3rd round picks & throw in Grimes. Could seal the deal. Leaves our 2nd round pick for Melksham.
  19. Decided he needed his own thread. We're yet to be linked to him, but his manager came out on trade radio today and mentioned that although he is contracted to Carlton that there's only a chance that he'd still be there next year. Sounds like with the likes of Weitering on the way in to go with Josh Walker, Tomlinso & Plowman that Carlton have been linked to, the Blues may have several tall forward options and Levi may be looking elsewhere. Manager said there have been other offers put to Levi, and given our needs for support for Hogan and the fact that Dawes has been mentioned as a potential trade, surely we must be interested? Levi Casboult 199cm, 103kg forward who can go into the ruck. Kicked 24 goals this year in his 16 games. Has a great pair of hands, however his kicking can let him down at times. Turns 26 in March next year, but it's a big yes form me. Wonder what people though of the idea of Levi and what it may cost? In the trade radio thread I suggested 3rd round pick & Dawes, but given the players Carlton may have coming in as mentioned above, they probably wouldn't be interested in Dawes. Maybe 3rd rounder and Grimes or trade our 2016 2nd round pick for Casboult and their 2016 3rd rounder?
  20. Was thinking the same as to why they would trade him? The only reaon I could think of is that they're very confident on getting all of Tomlinson, Walker & Plowman in to go with Weitering at Pick 1 in the draft. Think they could be ok with key position players?
  21. Roos and Mahoney have been at pains on a couple of occasions to say that Frost will be a defender. Was played forward this year due to a needs scenario. Obviously that isn't to say we wont need him to play there again in 2016, but it's been mentioned on several occasions that they see him settling in defence. Mahoney also said as recently as Tuesday that we need more support in the forward line for Hogan. Casboult fits the fill IMO, don;t know what it would take to get it done though? Dawes & our 3rd round pick maybe?
  22. I hope so. Mahoney said we're looking for some support for Hoges, however we've yet to be linked to any key forwards. Meets the age brief along with being competative and can also go into the ruck. Kicked 24 goals in 16 games this year. A big yes for me!
  23. I hope for Brisbane's sake that Carlton are also throwing a pick in there.
