WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JORDAN LEWIS
MadAsHell replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lewis & Pick 57 for Picks 48 & 66 is probably a pretty fair trade. -
Very optimistic. I think Pick 62 in a three way trade with CG/Filth would be about as good as we could get.
-
Three way trade maybe? Dunn to the filth Witts to GC17 Suns send something our way.

2016 Player Review - # 41 Mitchell White (rookie list)
MadAsHell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Was very good at VFL level. I'd expect him to be given a 3rd year on the Rookie list, however need will need to have a season out of the box to leap frog the likes of Wagner & the declining Lumumba... -
Back onto the alleged trade to land us Rockliff, what would it take for us to land this additional future 2nd round pick to make the trade work? Some talk of Nibbler wanting to go back to Adelaide (the city). Would Nibbler + Pick 48 be enough to get a future 2nd round pick off Port? That would allow us to trade both our 2017 1st Round Pick and on-trade Port's 2017 2nd Rounder.

Watch the Pies take Nathan Brown's twin Mitch as his replacement as a free agent. They've got three hours to do it.
-
If we don't have that pick anylonger due to other trades then we may have to.
-
Ok, so the way I'm interpreting all this is: I reckon the Hanley to Gold Coast trade will play a part, and Pick 44 (currently Gold Coast) will find it's way to Brisbane. We then trade Dunn, 2017 1st Round Pick & Pick 29 to Brisbane Rockliff, Pick 19 & 44 then come back to Melbourne Melbourne then trade Pick 19 to Essendon Hibberd & Pick 41 to Melbourne Melbourne then trade one of Picks 41, 44 or 48 to Hawthorn for Lewis Alternatively if we could trade Pick 44 & a player (Vanders/Nibbler) to Essendon for Hibberd that would be ideal. We could then trade 48 for Lewis and take 19 to the draft!
-
Encouraging year, however as mentioned by another poster, he m as y be a better option as a defender unless he's able to develop an ability to go into the ruck.
-
I had heard previously we were into Vardy, but nothing for a few weeks. Durdin would be a good get. Matera I don't see the need. Merrett, no thanks. Barratt i don't know much of him?
-
This would have to be the modern day equivalent to Barassi leaving Melbourne IMO. Though still not as big.
-
Certainly one from left field if it eventuates. Hawthorn may try and make it work for them I guess and work it into either the Mitchell or O'Meara trades.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
MadAsHell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in General Discussion
The fact no one from Essendon has sued Dank should tell you all you need to know. -
OUT: Pavlich, Mayne and possibly Ballantyne plus Barlow. Ageing Sandilands, Johnson, Dawson, Mundy IN: McCarthy (issues) Hill (down hill skier) Wouldn't get to excited by them just yet.
-
I reckon Gibbs & Pick 56 for Lyons & Pick 13 would be on about the money.
-
http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/119356/Harry-DEAR Reads ok, however is he capable of playing ruck, as none of those brief summaries mention him going into the ruck. Otherwise it may be a case of going to the draft and looking for a Dracy Cameron or Rowan Marshall.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
MadAsHell replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't think Brisbane want him anymore as they've committed to Frost. I actually think Port Adelaide would be our best bet to trade with given the early retirement of Carlisle and they're light on for tall defenders anyway, Dunn & Pick 64 for Pick 47 I think is reasonable. As for Hibberd, I have no issue giving them what is currently Pick 28 and could fall to 30. -

I hadn't heard that rumor. What was said? -
Now there's a club who's midfield can't take the loss of a player like Gibbs.
-
Richmond winners there coming away with Pick 26! By the time Wells & Mayne compo is done along with Vickery & Brisbane's Priority Pick, our 2nd Rounder suddenly becomes Pick 30! Will Essendon still accept?
-
In theory they can do that. But pretty sure the way the rules are set up would see them go into recession for the 2017 draft. I don't have the formula in front of me, but lets say GWS stock pile a bunch of top 20 picks and only a few late ones. Come draft time a team bids Pick 25 on a GWS Academy player and pick 25 = 500 points. Now after the 20% discount etc lets say with the picks GWS has left, GWS find themselves 200 points shy of the points required. Well they can still take said player, but they'll loose 200 points off their first draft pick next year. So Pick 17 may become 18 or 19etc. That's my understanding of how it's supposed to work as anyway.

2016 Player Review - # 22 Viv Michie (rookie list)
MadAsHell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Too good for VFL, but as previously mentioned, will get more opportunities in a weaker team. I hope he finds another club in 2017. -
I did notice he kicked about 20 goals in the NEAFL this year which is promising. Maybe Spencer to West Coast West Coast on trade to GWS Downie to Melbourne On top of that we still draft my man Darcy Cameron!
