    Agree cards, should have been a free for chopping, however if Boyd's kick wasn't so poor, then it wouldn't have been an issue. Danger for the Dogs that they may waste their early disposal dominance.

    All i'll say is that as long as Hogan does the right thing by Melbourne and says trade me to whichever WA club you can get the best deal from, then i'll hold no ill feelings. Anyone who saw Weideman's 3rd quarter last week knows we've got another special key forward on the list.

    2017 1st Round Pick to GWS for Pick 15 and fringe player eg James Stewart (in case Hogan seeks a trade). Then send Pick 15 with someone eg Neal-Bullen to Port for Hartlett. That's how you get it done.

    If you promote a rookie then you would only need to make two selections at the draft, 0 promotions then 3 selections etc. As for the point i think PaulRB is making i think Stue, isn't that we'd need to trade Pick 81 for Dal Santo, but if there's an available spot on our list, then it's a choice of either recruiting Dal Santo, or using a 3rd pick at the draft, being Pick 81 (Given our 2nd round will go for Hibberd).

    By your reasoning the club shouldn't have recruited Cross, as he wasn't a long term option? Surely he wasn't the difference between 2 to 4 wins and then 4 to 7? Why do you think the club has made a point of going on about how young we are after each loss? We lack experience! Dal Santo or Harvey or whoever only for 12 months means an extra pre-season into our younger players before they're expected to carry to big a load.

    As stated earlier in the thread. Looks like Thomo is staying at Radelaide, so Dal Santo will be instead of, including moving into the assistant coaching gig.

    While i agree the club is more advanced then when Cross came in, we're still criminally young. Then assuming Grimes & Dawes will be off the list next year and potentially any of Dunn, Garland, Lumumba, Pedersen & Matt Jones we'd only be getting younger. Dal Santo is still playing good football and is an elite kick still averaging 24.5 possession, 8 contested kicking at 74%. He'll finish top 10, possibly top 5 in a finalists B&F this year. So if it's only 12 months or 2 years like Cross, i reckon he still has something to offer both on & off the football field.

    If the rumor is true it could be 1 year with the option of a 2nd, just like Cross was. If it is true i hope Salem sticks to him like glue to learn off, like Viney did with Cross.

    Have you watched him this year? No one denies he's past his best, but to say he's shot is just a plain incorrect statement. I hope it's just a case of you get him confused with Drew Petrie?
