Tim Smith had a great quarter kicking the first and last goal of the term and another attempt would have been a sensational goal but it hit the base of the goal post. Casey have found some good young prospects in ruckman Luke Hill and young Mitch Gent. Kyle Matthews is going well in his first game and another experienced Scorpion Danny Nicholls has also added to the mix. Pies coming home with the breeze and it will be touch and go but Casey's defence has held firm apart from that brief period before half time.

Some interesting news about the club:- • Kyle Matthews played three quarters against North Ballarat in the Development League win and is expected to play for the seniors against Geelong at Casey Fields on Sunday. His only other senior game this year came in Round 1, and • Michael Riseley missed last week's game against the Northern Blues because he was in London to watch brother Jeff go around in the 800 and 1,500 metres in the Olympics. Jeff failed to progress beyond his heat in the 800 running a 1:46.99.
