After Casey peppered the goals for 10 minutes without any luck, a Box Hill kick clears the pack and its a goal. 3.16.34 to 6.6.42.

Dean Terlich stamping himself as best on ground but Casey cannot buy a goal 3.15.33 to 5.6.36.

Kearns again (I think) with a goal against the run of play. Casey down by 9 points.

Box Hill getting away a bit with their third, again from a free and now, a miss from a free downfield makes it 8 points - 20 - 12.

For the third week in a row Mitch Clisby's # 70 jumper must have gone missing. He's wearing 74 again today. Dean Terlich has been very impressive in a game that's become a battle of defences.

Maxy took a mark about 50 out but his helicopter fell just short.

The Tynan who played today wasn't Josh Tynan but rather, his brother Luke who is Casey's vice captain.The Scorpions were monstered today by a bigger, stronger, fitter, more experienced and better drilled combination. The Scorpions' list is young and very inexperienced while most of the nine Demons were either lighter bodied youngsters or underdone players. Jack Viney was the standout and Mitch Clark stood up but was obviously rusty. Jordie McKenzie did ok and will probably gain selection but Jack Trengove and Sam Blease need more match practice and should be back at Casey along with Chris Dawes, Tom McDonald and, with a bit of luck Max Gawn. The crowd was reasonable and it was good to see some Demonlanders in WJ, Redleg & Scoop Junior.

Now up to 54 points at three quarter time. Port Melbourne 16.8.104 to Casey Scorpions 7.8.50. Apart from Jack Viney, the rest would struggle for promotion next week.

It's understood that Casey doesn't have as good a list of VFL players but that should be compensated for by the fact that Casey can use a number of AFL listed players available to it while Port can't. Therefore, Port is entitled to spend up a bit more. You really can't expect much from Casey's VFL players when most of the AFL listed guys are just going.
