  1. Three Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 10.11.71 to Collingwood 8.8.56 Jesse Hogan's return to ¾ time is super-impressive: 19 touches, 10 marks and three goals.
  2. Pies come back but Spencer kicks his second. Quick reply from Lynch and its a 16 point game.
  3. Half time and Casey lead by 19 points. 8.6.54 to 5.5.35 Hogan 3 Best 2 goals
  4. Jesse makes it 3 in a row for the Scorps but Pies quick reply. Hogan is absolutely on fire with his strong marking.
  5. Hogan again and the Scorps are suddenly 14 points up.
  6. Hogan sets up a Spencer goal after taking a great mark. Casey leads by 2 points.
  7. Goal to first gamer Nick Lang brings it back to 3 points.
  8. Goal to Pies after dispute about whether the ball was touched.
  9. Hogan first score of the second quarter but its only a point.
  10. Quarter Time: Collingwood 2.2.14 Casey 1.4.10 Hogan - 1 goal
  11. Pies goal after a few Casey misses. 14-10.
  12. No Tapscott, Yarra. Casey are low on AFL listed players today with a number of their regulars injured. Sellar is another of the selected players who isn't out there either. They trail 1.1.7 to 1.2.8 halfway through the first quarter.
  13. Collingwood gets the first goal of the match and leads by that margin.
  14. As we embark on a vital fixture for the Scorpions at Victoria Park against Collingwood (we're 15 minutes away from the opening siren and no, we're not on the telly) some reading material from today's Age. Firstly, from the pen of Demon champion Garry Lyon: Draft hopefuls can learn from VFL stint Secondly, the Age VFL writer tips Collingwood to win: Veterans give Pies a boost against Casey The teams last met on 8th June this year and the Scorps had a convincing win by 15 goals. The team hasn't changed greatly since then although it will miss the injured Tom Couch who's a real ball magnet at this level. Casey has also dropped form lately and has lost its last two games which included a belting at Werribee and a narrow loss at home against Essendon who they also thrashed earlier in the year. The Pies have improved greatly and, as the article says, this week they have the added advantage of some seasoned footballers in the team. Should be interesting.
  15. Just a couple of things to note:- • the Casey teams are taken from the club website and differ a little to the ones published on the VFL site; and • Dan Nicholson named in the Development League squad. He's also an emergency for the seniors. This suggests to me that if he doesn't get a run for Melbourne against North, he might be given a run with the DL team on Sunday morning; and • This week's mystery injury of the week is Tom Gillies.

  19. First goal of the game to Jesse Hogan who brings the Scorps back into the game.
  20. Goal to the bombers who are now 7 points in front. Casey struggling to score and playing an undisciplined game.
