  4. Hogan being forced to go back to get kicks. Signs not good for Scorps with the Tigers doing all of the attacking. Werribee 4.3.27 to Casey 3.2.20.

  13. The Casey Scorpions return will return to action after a week's rest in the first weekend of the split round facing a real danger game against Werribee who have had the "wood" over them in recent seasons. They play the Tigers (who have knocked them out of the past two finals series at the semi final stage) on Sunday at Avalon Airport Oval which hasn't particularly been a happy hunting ground for the Scorps. SUNDAY JULY 14 Werribee vs Casey Scorpions at Avalon Airport Oval, Werribee 2pm (Vision Australia Radio, Aussie Digital) (Development League match at 11am) Making things interesting is the fact that Werribee will be saddling up in the first semi final of the Foxtel Cup against WAFL side East Fremantle at Patersons Stadium tomorrow night in a game that will be telecast live on Fox Footy from 8.30pm. With a five day break between that game and Sunday and a long trip west and back, the Tigers will be hard pressed to stop Casey's current winning streak despite their home ground advantage. On another note, bad news for former Geelong VFL player Casey Tutungi who also had a stint with the Casey Scorpions (prior to its alignment with Melbourne) whose family has confirmed that he is a quadriplegic as a result of an accident during a recent local game - Family confirms footballer Casey a quadriplegic. I trust the football community will get behind the player and his family. Another former Casey player, Beau Vernon also suffered a similar terrible injury last year while playing for Leongatha.
  14. Siren and Casey win by 28 points. Casey Scorpions 3.3.21 6.6.42 10.9.69 13.14.92 Northern Blues 2.0.12 6.0.36 8.5.53 9.10.64 Goals Casey Scorpions Hogan 6 Best Tapscott 2 Davis Smith Taggert Northern Blues Warnock Wilson 2 Buckley Laidler Lincoln Mitchell Rowe Best Casey Scorpions Hogan Strauss Pedersen Gent Nicholls Tapscott Northern Blues Meese McInnes Wilson Graham Duigan Carrazzo Stats: Couch, Magner 27, Nicholls 26, J.Tynan, Strauss 25
  15. Goal to the Northern Blues as we tick into time on.
  16. Local player - Luke Hill. Giving away height but making a good fist of things in the absence of Spencer, Gawn & Fitzpatrick. Meanwhile, Jake Best goals on the run & its a 34 point lead to the Scorps.
  17. When James Strauss centres it there's a good chance Jesse Hogan will take the mark and kick the goal. No 6. Casey by 29.
  18. Monumental stuff up by Northern Blues defence. Goal to Smith who pokes it through.
  19. Three Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 10.9.69 to Northern Blues 8.5.53.
  20. Tapscott drills a goal to give Casey a 16 point lead.
  21. Nice pass from Nicholls to Taggert puts Casey 11 points in front.
  22. Fifty metre penalty to Warnock after Pedersen disputes the umpire's call and the result is a goal to the visitors. Six points in it.
