Everything posted by KC from Casey

  1. Scorps have a 4 point lead 10 minutes into the third.
  2. Half Time: Williamstown lead 7.7.49 to Casey Scorpions 7.6.48 Goals Di Pasquale 2 Cox Freeman Hillard Daniel Johnston Pattison Disposals Wilson 16 Ferriera 15 Moncrieff 14
  3. The lead has changed a couple of times with Willy getting in front by a goal late in the quarter.
  4. A couple of goals to Casey put them in front. Some good goal assists from Max King there.
  5. Quarter Time: Williamstown 3.5.23 lead Casey 2.3.15 It's been a sluggish start for the Development League boys with the Seagulls on top for most of the term.
  6. Scorpions look like playing the Seagulls in the Seniors Preliminary Final. They have a comfortable lead over Sandringham in their semi final.
  7. One man who will not be taking part in the Preliminary Final is Melbourne's forgotten man Dean Terlich who was suspended for one match following the Qualifying Final win. The Scorpions have a few handy players likely to come in to replace him - Christian Salem, Jay Kennedy-Harris and rookie Joel Smith all missed last week's game. The focus will turn to the JJ Liston Trophy on Monday night where Viv Michie, Alex Neal-Bullen and Jack Grimes have all been mentioned as potential winners. Problem is that they may all have taken away too many votes individually thereby preventing one of them from winning. Casey's Declan Keilty is one of the favourites for the Fothergill-Round Medal for the most promising young talent in the competition.
  8. Things are a little more low key this week at the Casey Scorpions following last week's ground-breaking 70 point win over Footscray in the First Qualifying Final. The win gives the seniors a week's break and they will be back in Preliminary Final action against the winner of the Williamstown v Sandringham Semi Final at North Port Oval on Saturday. That game will be the curtain raiser for the weekend's big game - the Development League Preliminary Final between the Casey Scorpions and Williamstown. AFL VICTORIA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE PRELIMINARY FINAL CASEY SCORPIONS v WILLIAMSTOWN Saturday 17 September 2016 North Port Oval at 2.40pm CASEY SCORPIONS B: Vander Haar Moncrieff Wyatt HB: J McDonald Rutherford Gordon C: Fritsch D Collis J Anderson HF: Hillard Baker Pattison F: Hannon Max King Freeman FOLL: Gains Ferreira Wilson I/C (from) Ambler F Anderson Beacom Briggs W Collis Cotte Cox Di Pasquale Jaffer-Williams Damian Johnston Daniel Johnston Lovett Stockdale WILLIAMSTOWN B: McMahon Carter Minogue HB: Hetherington Myers Greiser C: Norton Schultz Monk HF: Ebinger Owen Chisari F: Davies Critchley Conway FOLL: Curtis Hislop Anastasio I/C (from): Brumby Burke Carter Condon Di Ciero Eales Johnstone Maher Philpot Sullivan
  9. Joel Smith did not play in the development league semi final. Max King did and should be selected again this week. I believe the following is relevant - "20. Participation in Finals ... (b) Subject to Rule 20(c) below, a Player who has played in an AFL Home and Away Match after 1 July in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in VFL Senior Grade or Development League Finals Series Matches unless that Player has played in a combined total of at least six (6) Senior Grade or Development League Home and Away Matches in the same season. (c) A Player who has not played in at least two (2) Development League Home and Away Matches in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in a Development League Finals Series Match unless, immediately prior to selection: (i) the Player has missed at least ten (10) consecutive VFL Home and Away Matches through injury; and (ii) the Player’s Club remains active in the VFL Senior Grade Finals Series. (d) A Player who has played in more than eight (8) VFL Senior Grade Home and Away Matches will be ineligible to play in Development League Final Series Matches unless that Player has played in at least six (6) Development League Home and Away Matches." Oscar McInerney and Aloysio Ferreira who both did well against Footscray would be available for the DL this week but I don't believe any of the other Casey senior regulars will play.
  10. Only one game in town at the weekend. Development League Preliminary Final between Casey Scorpions and Williamstown at North Port Oval 2.40pm.
  11. Yes, he played in the Development League team and was one of his team's better players but didn't really do anything outstanding.
