Scorpions doing it comfortably at 3QT: Casey 9.7.61 to Northern Blues 2.6.18.
-
Qtr Time in the Development League - Scorpions 4.2.26 to Northern Blues 1.1.7.

Good idea

Not sure because he hasn't gone down the normal path of young recruits and tends to be a little inconsistent which does happen sometimes with VFL listed players in teams with reasonably large numbers of AFL players. If he got onto an AFL list (even as a rookie) and therefore trained in that environment, he could be a good player.

The teams last met at Windy Hill in early May and the Scorpions won that game. This time they meet at night under lights at Casey. It can be a very forbidding place and I'm not sure if I can make it so any input from posters who live close would be appreciated. The word out from Brett Anderson's Twitter feed is that Gippsland's Ben Ainsworth likely to line up for Casey in VFL this weekend as 23rd man. Ainsworth is touted as one of the leading lights in this year's draft pool and even if he's out of Melbourne's reach (currently, the Demons' first pick is in the middle of the second round), he will be worth watching on Saturday night if the above info is correct.

I would compare him more to a Pavlich and if he turned out to be half the player Pavlich is I'd be rapt too. And so would Jesse Hogan.

Sting going out of the game and Coburg getting a couple of junk time goals. Scorps lead by 72 points.
-
Scott goals as Casey coast away. Percentage will be vital in the run up to the finals so this is good.

3QT and the margin is 77 points. Casey Scorpions 14.17.101 to Coburg 4.0.24 Goals Terlich Weideman 3 Michie Neal-Bullen 2 D Collis Kennedy J Smith Trengove Disposals Newton 32 Kennedy 31 Grimes 29

Coburg look stunned as ANB goals. Lead 71 points.
-
After the Weed gets his third, Ben Ken gets in on the act. Suddenly, it's raining goals.
-
Yes ... unselfish play from Weideman results in a goal for the rookie.

Casey 9.14.68 to Coburg 4.0.24

Dean Terlich is the man! Two goals in a minute and one from the Weed.
-
It's the wind.
-
The good news is that Casey dominated the play in the opening quarter with the wind. The bad news is the score at QT - Casey Scorpions 2.9.21 to Coburg 1.0.6
-
Poor kicking for goal in the first quarter so far.
-
Weideman goals in reply to Coburg's first. He's looking sharp today.
-
The game is under way. It looks like Tom Bugg has been held back for Melbourne's game tomorrow. Casey 1.1.7 to Coburg 0.0.0. Michie got the first goal.

Big win to Casey - it looks like the development league team will join the seniors in the finals - Casey Scorpions 1.3.9 6.11.47 8.14.62 12.22.94 Coburg 2.4.16 2.4.16 5.9.39 6.9.45 Goals Casey Scorpions Baker Di Pasquale 2 Ferreira Freeman Fritsch Hannon Daniel Johnston Kennedy-Harris McDonald Munro Coburg Staples 3 Merlo Valeri Wunhym Best Casey Scorpions Munro Vander Haar Kennedy-Harris Wyatt Moncrieff Ferreira Coburg Corigliano Staples Sutherland Free Stillman Tarczon

Three quarter time: Casey Scorpions lead 8.14.62 to Coburg 5.9.39 Scorps did well to hold Coburg out that quarter and look like going on with it in the final quarter. Vander Haar is a handy player at this level but he's not in the same league as his old man. He's not as tall or imposing and given that his father's marking, even when he started was a feature, he's not at that level. This is not to denigrate him at all because Paul VDH was a champion of the comp for a long time.
