  1. By my reckoning, the following players meet the eligibility requirements:- Lynden Dunn, Colin Garland, Jack Grimes, Liam Hulett, Jay Kennedy-Harris, Max King, Viv Michie, Alex Neal-Bullen, Ben Newton, Cameron Pedersen, Joel Smith, Jake Spencer, Dean Terlich, Jack Trengove, Sam Weideman, Mitchell White Matt Jones will qualify if he plays against Geelong today as would Chris Dawes and Christian Salem if they play both remaining VFL games. Angus Brayshaw would qualify if he played in the VFL next week. However, given their injury issues during the year, I doubt that the last three would play VFL finals if they did qualify. I can't make it down to the Cattery today so if any Demon fans are there, your reports during the game would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Michael Hibberd has come out and announced that he wants to leave the Bombers, The time has come for a thread all of his own. The word is that a trade will take place and involve Melbourne's second round draft pick.
  3. Casey important to success, says Roos Paul Roos discusses the importance of Casey's ongoing good form to the senior AFL club.
  4. Max kicked a couple of goals and was handy. Joel Smith will play tomorrow for the seniors.
  5. Win to the Scorpions by 5 goals. VFL Development League Casey Scorpions 1.0.6 4.2.26 10.5.65 12.9.81 Sandringham 4.4.28 5.5.35 7.6.48 7.9.51 Goals Casey Scorpions Baker Freeman Hillard Max King McInerney 2 Daniel Johnston J McDonald Sandringham Fox 3 Banfield Dobosz Hiscock Pavlou Best Casey Scorpions Rutherford J McDonald Hillard Wilson Briggs Jaffer-Williams Sandringham Grace Dobosz Parsons Thompson Fox Pavlou
  6. Much better quarter there with Casey now 10.5.65 to Sandringham 7.6.48
  7. Half Time - better quarter from the Scorps but they still trail - 4.2.26 to the Zebs 5.5.35.
  8. Sandy Development team well on top in first quarter - 4.4.28 to 1.0.6
  9. The Scorpions travel down the highway to Sleepy Hollow to play the Cats. Casey is virtually assured of a top two spot and I'm sure will take a good look at Simonds Stadium in the week before their senior counterparts slug it out. 10. VFL player review: round 19 Some real understatement there. Jack Grimes has his second 40 disposal game in three weeks and he gets this:- "I thought Jack’s game was really workmanlike." Really?
  11. Paul Amy in the Leader Newspapers: The Casey Scorpions are looking formidable on the eve of the VFL finals "IT’S been a season of highs for the Casey Scorpions. And now more. In thrashing Werribee by 105 points on Saturday, the Scorpions had a season-high 46 scoring shots and a record 80 inside fifties."
  12. Late goals to debutants Aloysio Ferreira and the Time Lord, Tom Baker (x2) see Casey stream home by 105 points! Baker replaced Tim Smith, a late injury withdrawal before the match. Casey Scorpions 5.8.38 9.16.70 16.20.116 21.25.151 Werribee Tigers 4.1.25 5.4.34 6.4.40 7.4.46 Goals Casey Scorpions Baker Dawes Kennedy-Harris 3 Neal-Bullen Salem White 2 Ferreira Grimes Kennedy Munro Spencer Trengove Werribee Durdin McKay Mountford 2 Jacobs Best Casey Scorpions Trengove Michie Grimes M Jones Kennedy-Harris Neal-Bullen Werribee Hanson Gribble McFarlane Tippett Nielson Hibberd Disposals M Jones 42 Grimes 41 Neal-Bullen 37 Michie 35 Trengove 30 White 29 Kennedy 27 Kennedy-Harris 26 Williamstown's loss today to Footscray means that the Scorpions and Collingwood VFL fill the top two spots with the Seagulls a game behind and a bye coming up which will make it hard for them to get a home game in the first week of the finals.
  13. Goal to Christian Salem (set up by JKH) - he now has two. The lead 92 points and it could have been so much more had they kicked straight.
  14. Three Quarter time and the Scorps are well on top. Casey Scorpions 5.8.38 9.16.70 16.20.116 Werribee Tigers 4.1.25 5.4.34 6.4.40 Goals Dawes Kennedy-Harris 3 Neal-Bullen 2 Baker Grimes Kennedy Munro Salem Spencer Trengove White Disposals Michie 30 Grimes 28 Jones 27 Neal-Bullen 25 Trengove 24 Kennedy-Harris 21 Morris 20
  15. The time lord Tom Baker, playing his first game, just kicked a goal to make the lead 63 points.
  16. JKH, the man of the moment, goaled a few minutes ago but the wastefulness in attack continues. Lead now up to 57 points.
  17. Casey leads 12.18.90 to 6.4.40 as scoring seems to have dried up for the moment.
  18. Now Neal-Bullen has 2 and the lead is out to 50 points.
  19. Dawes' third for the days sees Casey ahead by 43 points.
  20. Doubt it. The club has embarked on a youth policy and have been fairly consistent on this throughout the year. I can see ANB or Salem as the next cabs off the rank but after yesterday, I think it might be no change for next Sunday.
  21. Half time and it's Casey by 37 points Casey Scorpions 5.8.38 9.16.70 Werribee Tigers 4.1.25 5.4.34 Goals Dawes 2 Grimes Kennedy Munro Neal-Bullen Salem Trengove White Disposals Michie Neal-Bullen 20 Trengove 18 Morris 17
  22. Werribee score their first goal for the term - it's to 9.13.67 to 5.3.33
  23. The lead is now 39 points and Casey seem to have broken the back of the Tigers' resistance.
  24. Spencer having a big impact in the ruck. He could be an All Victorian this year if they have one.? Casey lead 53 - 27.
