It's not even speculation. He is gone. I jsut hope we a) get 2 compensatory picks and B) use them in the next draft. I hate waiting!
-
I think it would be good if the melbourne supporters were informed by the club as to what they were actually doing/saying to the afl about this issue, or are they just sitting back and copping it on the chin. I feel like we have no back bone
-
lol someone agreed with me But on another note, I was one of few that backed up Stef Martin at every stage. So many on here wanted to ditch him. Always had talent. And i was right on Bate from the outset. Too slow and awkward kick. Dunn won't get cut. He is a very dangerous forward on song and has natural aggression. Something we need

Moloney got a C and Strauss got B? Moloney has been an A. I've never been a fan of the 'down-hill ski-er' term, i.e. Only doing well when the team is winning. The team was only winning in large part BECAUSE moloney was playing well.
-
You're in denial
-
It's a disgrace and we won't be fairly compensated for him either which adds salkt into the wound. Hawthorn without Cyril, Collingwood without Dale Thomas, StKilda without Goddard. losing scully would be the worst thing to happen to this footy club for a long long time. I guess it comes down to what we will get for him now? He is gone, no doubt about it.
-
I'm personally convinced that he is going so I'm just hoping that he plays really really well for the remainder of the season so that his value goes up. Otherwise it looks like we will get a mid-teen pick for him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

Lets not get carried away. He didnt even play for SA in their first game. Rotation schmotation, if you were in the top dozen players you'd be playing. Give him time -
for those that didnt see footy classified, did they think Scully was going or staying?
-
i can just see melbourne rolling over and giving the old cliche 'oh, well tom is a great player but he is only 1 player and no 1 player is greater than the culture that we have developed at melbourne. We will move forward and seek to grab a star player with pick 17'. Such a thing bailey would say
-
not to be negative, but what do people think we would get for scully if he did in fact go to GWS?
-
it's painful to listen to some of you guys. You know nothing about football. 'Its our fault for not creating a culture that wants players to stay'...wtf...When Scully is being offered 3 times his normal pay packet then culture schmulture there is nothing we can do!!! Secondly, if we lose Scully (i hope not) or Morton (i hope so) we are not going to get anything decent for them. We will get maybe a top 10 pick for scully around pick 7, 8 or 9 and next to nothing for Morton.

Please recruit players with a football IQ. All of our player are dumb other than moloney. Giving free kicks in ruck contests. That, as well as kicking into the man on the mark or crossing defensive 50m to a 50/50 contest are amongst the most stupid things to do in our game. We do all of them. so fricken sick and tired of Davey's turnover. He has been involved directly in 4 north melbourne goals!!! stop trying to be so fkn fancy and kick long when in doubt. You do good stuff, but your bad stuff costs your team goals. FFS!!! And to everyone else in the team. Man the [censored] up! its not hard. I could man up better myself. Play basketball and learn what it means to play proper defence. Our 2nd quarter was terrible. ANd what the hell is with GOldstein. He is a terrible player.
-
And then we lose to the Roos by a couple of points and we wonder what would have made the difference. We have the roos and st.kilda which should be both close games. 1 player can make the difference.

https://telstra.com/subscriptions/afl/contactus/aflenquiry.asp? Everyone do their bit and state their distaste for the tribunal decision. Every comment counts
-
I agree, its a terrible logo. Way too much going on. That said, don't listen to me. I think i'm the only person that actually likes the melbourne white away jumper
-
Agree, but the game plan we are playing at the moment is probably the one would that looks good with witches hats. The one i did is something I believe would be a much safer bet and much more flexible. I also think that by the time the guys run the 100 metres done the ground, they often cannot execute into the forward 50m because they are tired.

Everyone here believes that Bailey ought to go due to his lack of game plan and/or poor game plan. With the game plan being flood the back line then, when in possession, run and handball in numbers down the ground not working what do you suggest? It's easy to criticise without offering an alternative. Personally I think Bailey should stay but here is my game plan if I was coach: I believe the biggest most important thing we need to address is our inside 50's. Stating the obvious, you can't score a goal unless you get it in there (unless of course you bomb one from outside 50!). We are getting low inside 50m tally's because we are turning it over with our handball happy game style along the half back line. To get the ball inside 50 more often I would make these positional changes: Davey deep inside 50m. His forward pressure would cause more turnovers from the opposition coming out of their backline causing more inside 50's for us. Tapscott to half forward. Strong overheard marking and deep long kicks into our 50m would help our team. We have one of the most talented forwards in the comp just twiddling his thumbs in the forward 50. We need to get it down to him! Grimes to the middle. Grimes was put into the backline to give us a steady foot and assurance back there. Realistically however, he is a turnover king which not only diminishes our inside 50m count but also costs us on the score board. His overheard marking is fantastic however and this should be the utilised more effectively as a midfielder and a potential target for kick-ins. Not the actual kicker himself. Structural changes: No flooding the backline anymore. Back our numbers in at the contest. The extra numbers that are usually flooding the backline can now provide options when coming out of defence. The likes of Davey, Bennell and Wonaeamirri etc. can come up into the centre section of the ground to provide an option for defenders but no further. This will space out the ground more and provide a more healthy option for defenders. jurrah doesn't leave the forward 50m however. So instead of having all the numbers in the defensive 50m and running the lines from there. The defensive 6 will have extra options provided by midfielders(half back line area) and forwards pushing up the ground (centre section). This gives us numbers on the first 3 sections on the ground. deep inside defensive 50m, half back line and centre line. From the centre line we can then keep running transition using our numbers and/or kick it to jurrah 1 on 1 inside 50m. If they choose to flood their backline, so be it. Ironically, that will be shooting themselves in the foot just the same way we are right now.

The thing is, if Brock comes back and gets 30 touches, thats enough to switch everyone around I believe. At the moment 1 in 5 supporters would have him back. And this poll is taken when he is at his career low. I'll bump it after he strings a few games together. That said, I wouldn't have him back simply because he chose to leave us. In terms of playing ability he is easily in our best team. I don't believe Jetta is remotely close to Mclean in terms of football IQ. Mclean is no slower than 2nd fav for the brownlow Jobe Watson.
-
No slower than Jones, just that Brock has better foot skills
-
Seriously what does Dunn have to do to keep his spot. He is a forward. He isnt going to kick a bag every week. He is clearly one of our better forwards, he needs to be in the team. He is playing bad yet still averagine 1.8 goals per game which is a 40 goal season rate. Give him a chance. I don't care, forwards are there to kick goals and Dunn can do that. Forward line should read: HF: Davey Dunn Green FF: Petterd Jurrah Wonaeamirri
-
I personally wouldn't take him back either. But where are all the people who said "Mclean is our next captain' gone to? I think Mclean will still make it at AFL. His body simply hasn't stood up but I think in time it will. I guess we'll see how he goes this weekend if he gets named.

Agree Gotzy, its a joke.
