Malcolm Blight wants 4 rule changes
1. Last touch out of bounds will really help getting the score line up to ridiculous basketball levels. No backman will ever dare spoil towards the boundary. The number of wrong decisions made when a pack goes for a mark near the boundary and the ball goes out will make the current error rate look miniscule. 2. no big deal, though it may lead to more congestion. 3. more or less done by teams now except when a team is trying to use up the clock, so probably OK. 4. no idea. If aim is to reduce congestion there may be better ways.

I wish you hadn't said 4 to 6.

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs West Coast
Just have to score 2.63 times as much as WCE. No worries.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
With the game going ahead I wonder whether the news will make the players go harder or play more like a practice match. It seemed to me that the games I've watched on TV (where else!) weren't very tough. Or was I influenced by lack of crowd noise?

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs West Coast
So there is no simulation available other than AFL? Which century is that? Not the 21st. I don't recall reading about mass suicides in Europe in 1348, or England in 1665 or anywhere in 1918. And sorry to be brutal, but a few compared to mass deaths by infection?

Actually maybe it's my failing hearing, but I can't understand anything the players say, swearing or not. Umpires are very clear but often the broadcasters turn their volume up and down. Maybe the swearing is deleted by muffling everything?

NON MFC: Round 01
Agree. It's not even consistent. When I looked earlier today the broadcast info for some matches was different in depending on which page you looked on (both had the revised start times). Very hard to quickly get information. The site doesn't remember your chosen location or that you have turned off betting odds.

How? The Audio doesn't appear to be on any delay and I can't imagine it being done by clever software because of the confused conditions with multiple voices and echos.

Agree. The only useful thing they do is familiarise me with the names of oppo players. I've previously shied away form suggesting it would be better if they shut up and we just heard the umpires mike because I thought there would be too much audble swearing. But after the broadcast of the last couple of games it seems this is not a problem. Listem as I might I didn't hear one word which would fall foul of the Demonland censor.

Now I've really lost it. You forgot the apostrophe in "people's"

Are we the oldest sporting club?
yes, but its painful to kick arrows especially if you get the arrow drop right.

NON MFC: Round 01
That's where I reckon the rule needs changing. Waiting for the play on call is unfair to the tackler. While I admit the one tonight was line ball, I reckon the umps should decide the issue without hiding behind a 'no play on' call if it is clear the player was playing on.

No need to take My FavouriteAlien seriously on this. He just can't let a chance go by to put the boot into China.
- Do you want to win the premiership?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few balls around the entire boundary like they are ebehind goals these days. The balls kicked into Level 3 can be retrieved after the match.

Max Gawn on RSN (17/3/20)
Well that comment about May and Lever should satisfy some of their relentless critics on here. I'm looking forward to years of entertainment from Max.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
While I like the idea, it does assume that players have no life outside footy. Would they all want to be away for 6 months from their small babies and toddlers and partners. (hmm, don't answer that)

But at what point do you stop entertaining every possibility? Do you not rank all your open-minded ideas from most probable to least? All I say is that I rank a natural outbreak as has happened multiple times in history much higher than anything your open mind has suggested. So much higher that I think you are being foolish. If you know any history you will be aware of all the open minded ideas about the cause of earlier plagues.

Sorry guys. Given a choice between whether the current pandemic is natural like all the previous ones (which you admit must have occured naturally) and the current one not being natural but the result of some nefarious manufacturer, I know which I'll believe till there is conclusive evidence otherwise. Keep reading and thinking up your own 'original' conspiracies and showing how open-minded you are. The rest of us are grateful that you aren't running the show.

Which human manufactured the Black Death in the 14th century. Or the plague in the 17th? Or the so-called Spanish flu in the 20th. Stop making fools of yourselves.

The Chinese govt has shut wet markets (stated as permanently, but we shall see). What about the wet markets in much of the rest of Asia? Or is your hatred only confined to things Chinese? Even the link to wet markets is not clearly established yet, but off you go casting China into eternal darkness. There are plenty of things to keep us amused these days when socially isolated - as far as I can see the average table in a restaurant is already socially isolated with everyone's nose in their mobile phones watching youtube, netflix, social media and even reading books (whatever they are). Seems to me it's never been a better time to be socially isolated (though doubtless any change will affect some people badly). In your carefully considered view, how potentially bad does a pandemic have to be to outrank the mental illness caused by isolation to slow its spread? Wuhan? Italy?

Jake Lever - Our next captain?
Pity the AFL thought up this way of generating click-bait just when we have a new captain. Max must have been tempted to say "Ask me again when I've been captain for more than a millisecond".

There's no point in pointing this out to DMMA. He was in charge of dealing with the Black Death in 1381 and saved 2/3 of the population. (don't ask about the other third.)
