BBP have you read any articles by the coodabeens? Your writing style sounds exactly like one of their writers. Great work! I had always thought Moorcroft was a handy player who was unlucky to lose his spot at Essendon. I only needed to watch him play once or twice to realise how wrong I was.

Jeff Hilton anyone? Carter was one of the 8 Fitzroy players to go to Brisbane. Didn't last long there. And yes he plays for Bendigo now, I have a feeling he was the captain there at one point.

Beams is the captain of the Devils in the VFL now. Very exciting player at that level, is probably amongst the best VFL listed players in the competition. Couldn't quite cut it at the top, seemed to make too many mistakes. Definitely playing at the right level now.

...fixed. Guys, if you come across anything else like this let me know straight away and I'll fix it. I somehow botched the forum software upgrade and caused a few of these errors. They're easily fixable though, just need to discover them first.

Do what you like. I didn't delete your post, I'm just offering a possible explanation. The mod who deleted it last time will probably delete it again though. I don't see the need to post the same post in several threads though, and IMO that's a good reason to delete posts. It makes the forum hard to follow if people post all their posts in three different threads.

Not sure exactly who deleted your post or why, however I did a check and there's another two copies of the post in the "HUMAN BLOWTORCH" thread and the "The Coach" thread. Your thread was probably deleted because of the blatant cross-posting.

No, when the team did exist though it was topped up with players from the local competition. In 1990 the team actually managed to defeat the Victorian team at North Hobart Oval. The level of competition down here isn't high enough to do that these days, but back then it certainly was competitive. Anyway, the idea now is totally unfeasible because as you said Tassie (and perhaps Qld and NSW) wouldn't be able to field a competitive side. That wasn't my point anyway.

As a Tasmanian I found it pretty dull once the Allies were introduced. The team didn't stand for us anymore, what was the point?
