I like Clark, but he’s not a lockdown defender type like Hibbo. He’s played his best football as a rebounding defender or a midfielder. He’s got decent skills and decision making and isn’t bad working through traffic either. If we could get him cheap I’d be all for it as he brings a point of difference to our one paced mids and flankers.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Lord Travis replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
For our needs, it's Cadman or bust it seems. Shame it's not a deep draft for tall forwards. Our KPF stocks are poor both in quality and quantity. Hopefully we get another highly talented one to pair with JVR longer term. -
Weight of traffic through the Langdon wing and left forward pocket would mean we turn it over there more. Interesting to see right half forward flank randomly stick out though. Unsure if that’s due to failed switch or corridor movement when we try to run and gun if we’ve got the chance… Our predictable game style has its pros and cons. We know where we’ll turn it over if it happens and give ourselves a chance to setup and defend it well. On the other hand if we’re not playing well/opposition have a solid strategy in place then we just get burnt on rebound. Those numbers backup the eye test and probably show we need to have a hit more variety in offense, even if it using both sides of the ground more evenly.

Some key stats there are 10 clearances to 0. 6 tackles to 2. Brayshaw played well, but he was more a link man off half back flank and not a massive impact. Serong was in everything all over the ground. He started everything for them winning it and going forward and locked it in when he didn’t win it. He had a much bigger impact on the match than Brayshaw and all others on the field. It was a brilliant performance and made me very envious of Freo having him and Young on their list. Both are superb young talents who have now stood up on the big stage of finals.

Silly thread, though I was keen on Young at draft. Jackson is a demon now, Young is not. If Jackson requests a trade to Freo, then a straight swap for Young would be a good result. Unlikely to happen though as why would he leave the Dockers on the rise after signing a 5 year extension.
-
Suck [censored] Doggies get back in your kennel! Great comeback by Freo and best round of finals matches I can remember. Every game had intensity and there were some tight finishes too. Gotta love footy!
-
We can’t complain, but Freo nailed that 2019 draft getting Young and Serong. They’re both brilliant young players and are standing up on the big stage tonight. Serong just keeps going with repeat efforts and never stops moving.
-
Freo getting a poor run from the umps here. Impressive comeback though!
-
Dockers back in this now. Amazing the difference it makes when a team embraces imperfection and just keeps moving forward. Seems such a basic concept but we still don’t embrace it.
-
We don’t need to spend 700k+ on a 29 year old injured ruckman. Or any ruckman for that matter. The role is the least impactful on the ground. We need quality tall marking forwards and skillful midfielders and forward flankers. Spend the big bucks on the key forward!
-
If Jackson nominates Freo, can we demand a straight swap for Hayden Young? I know he signed a long extension, but he’s a gun and looks like he’ll own a position on the AA HBF for years to come. Could become a mid too IMO.
-
[censored] I hate the dogs. They don’t even deserve to be playing finals this year yet somehow pull this it of their [censored]. Just [censored] off you mullet scum

It’s looking like they’re running this out better. Not looking forward to playing Pies again if we make it to the prelim! Their run and gun attack punches through defensive zones and turns matches into a complete game of chance.
-
Doubt it considering they got toweled house by Hickey and Gawn can’t hit the side of a barn recently!
-
Pies and Swans move the ball so much better than us on rebound and kick outs. Game style alteration required for us over the off season to become potent offensively again.
-
We’ve lost 14 last quarters this year, which is amongst the worst in the league. It’s the complete opposite to last year where we dominated third and fourth quarters. Our fitness is an issue this year. If we’ve had a loading plan, it’s been an outright failure. Fitness department needs to change strategy or personnel over summer.

It's done now. Hard to tell if Lynch's kick was a goal or a point (looked like a point IMO), but Tigers stuffed it at the end of the day. That final goal Daniher kicked was a result of some of the worst defending in recent memory. Richmond had a 4 on 1 contest and still managed to not kill the ball and let the one opposition player get a hold of it and kick it. Their poor defending cost them the match, not the goal review everyone is whinging about. Poor defending was the theme of the match last night. Regardless of who won, neither team can win the flag this year as they can't defend properly. Defense wins premierships. Richmond defended worse when it mattered.

Where from? Reliable source or twitter fodder? Huge if true!

Hibberd potentially missing or underdone is a worry, as he's the perfect matchup for Papley. We'll win the midfield battle and our tall defenders should stop their tall forwards, Papley and Heeney are the dangers and potential match winners for them. That said, I believe we'll win tonight in a tight game. Excited to see Gawn, Petracca and Oliver step up for another finals series. We're watching a truly special group of players at the moment!

He's a very tall kid and looks a talented athlete. Loves the Dees! He'll likely be a father-son draftee if he sticks with footy as a career. Best of luck to him and hope he doesn't feel too much pressure!

Will always be a Melbourne legend after his past few seasons and the Norm Smith. He's become a superb player and has stood up in the big games like a champion. Importantly though he always acknowledges the fans and has a positive attitude and real warmth to him. You see him making time for the kids etc and he's just a fantastic role model for the youngsters following the club and is drawing new supporters too. He's become the superstar player and marketing dream we dreamt of for so many decades.

Great result for us tonight. Much prefer playing Lions at the MCG than the Tigers should we lose tomorrow night. Whoever won tonight is zero chance at the flag anyway. Neither team can defend. That match was exciting to watch, but was amateur standard with horrific structures and some serious plodders out there.

At 189cms, Henry won’t be a KPF at AFL level. It’s a shame there’s no decent KPFs up for grabs. With where the club is at now, we’d be a good chance to land a one if they were available.

Hope the club announces he's extending his contract during the week off we'll have before the prelim!
