  1. Any team that allows Richmond to kick 11 goals in a quarter without Richo is tanking the hell out the game!!!!

West Coke are a bloody digrace..... Daniel Rich loves them at the moment as it means he doesn't have to buy toilet paper! :P

  2. Was fairly impressed by his game this arvo.... As people have said, he still needs another 15-20kg and 30-40 games before we will see him really start to have a major influence on our games..... But from what he has shown early on in his first season, I am more than happy with our selection! :P Unlike some other impatient pricks!

One thing I do notice about his game a lot, is the way he grabs the ball and almost everytime, he turns inside out (quite often into trouble) which then forces him to give off the quick handball to a team mate under pressure.... Just something that I see more and more each time he plays.... I think he is still finding his feet in the big league and is maybe struggling with the pressure and closing speed of opposition tacklers!

No criticism..... Just something I have noticed..... I have absolute faith in DB and his crew to help Cale reach his full potential (which is HUGE!)

  3. Dogs will do us by 32 points.....

We will stay with 'em for the first quarter, but then they will get a bit of a run-on in the 2nd and 3rd..... We will peg a few goals back in the last....

Geez! I was bloody close! :P

  4. I have been doing this for the last few years whilst living in Adelaide and have never been more proud than the day a young boy came up to me on the train and said "My Dad barracks for the Crows and he makes me as well, but when I grow up I am going to barrack for the Demons because I like Flash & Aussie".

The boy would've been no older than 6 and he was on his way to private school for the day.... You should've seen the smile on his face when I replied "Well this is the 2008 membership scarf and I want you to remember the day you became a true Demon supporter"..... as I put the scarf around his neck! "Keep it in your bag and put it in a safe place until you are ready to tell your Dad" I said....

One of the greatest days of my life that was!

  5. It is common knowledge throughout the nation that certain sides only want to win a select number of games this season.... We are certainly among them... But the difference between us and the other "tankers" is the fact that we have gone out and tried to win every game despite our horror start to the season.... Good can come of the wins that we achieve this season!

You can see the genuine excitement of the players when we have won our 2 games (2 of the best wins the club has had in decades IMHO) and it creates a hunger in the guts of the younger (impressionable) players....

Far more will be gained in 2008 for the future of this club, despite what a lot of outsiders think, from winning a couple more "unwinnable" games!

We are guaranteed to finish bottom 3 and with this will come a fantastic draft selection, regardless of who it is! But developing a hunger and a belief amongst our current juniors is IMHO more important! The top 3 draft pick and PSD selection will just be icing on the cake for the coaches!

DB is building an army.... And his troops are exceeding all expectations during basic training! :P

  6. Travis Johnstone said on Triple M Brisbane yesterday that he loves being a Lion and living on the Gold Coast and hopes to play with the Lions for at least another 5 years and play in a premiership team.

He loves surfing at Snapper with Simon Black and Luke Power and loves the laid back Gold Coast lifestyle that offers the best beaches and climate in Australia. He also said while Melbounre are trying to win a game, Brisbane are trying to win a premiership, and it's great playing with Jonathon Brown, the best player he's played with.

    All the best TJ.

Why don't you ask him out on a date..... :P

Of course he is not going to say that he hates it up there and wants to move back to Melbourne....

    * Contested possessions are a far more important stat than clearances!

    * This leads to more disposals due to more possession time

    * We are ahead in tackles due to the fact that we are quite often 2nd to the ball/chasing tail

Just goes to show what a solid, experienced and tenacious side can achieve without totally dominating the clearances!

Hit the gym dees..... You boys are young and fit and should have no problems ending up looking like the ripped cats!

  8. He took one of my workmates for a training session, and let slip that he would be a forward coach / developer next year along side Neitz. If he can bring us some of the Doggies nouce, we should be fine.

The reason he was never taken up on his offer as forward coach was quite simply, ND didn't like him.

Normally I don't run with rumours, but this one will happen.....

  9. Still think he is a bit of a tool, but good article at least.....

Not a big fan of journalists who support a particular team.... They tend to be a bit 'scared' with what they write, fearing a backlash for being too one-eyed or even too scathing of their own....

But I do respect him as a footy lover and I believe he has hit the nail on the head..... But of course, we all knew this well before he wrote it! ;)
