  1. You have won four premierships in the last 7 years on the back of our club. Talk about ungrateful.
  2. Absolutely, Jones has given us something to smile about this year, he has had a great year.
  3. These players have no trade value, they should all be de-listed, hopefully i will never see Jamar, Miller and Godfrey in a Melbourne jumper ever again.
  4. Byron has retired...what a waste of money....good riddance to a player who cheated the club and it's supporters. Pickett joins Demons' retirement party http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5013406,00.html
  5. Half way down article http://melbournefc.com.au/Season2007/News/...px?newsId=49781
  6. Was e-mailed to me, not sure of the source. As well as a new coach and a new football department head next year when Melbourne celebrates its 150th birthday, chief executive Steve Harris, who is on the panel charged with selecting the next coach, will have to justify his own position to his board. Harris is under pressure from the AFL, which has raised concerns about the high turnover of administrative staff at the Demons' MCG headquarters. Over the past 12 months, Melbourne has replaced 20 of its 29 office staff. Not counting its football department, the average length of service within its administration is 13 months. Melbourne's staff turnover in the past year has reached 70 per cent, which is well over the AFL club average of about 20 per cent. The Demons' stagnant financial position is also being questioned. After forecasting a $1.5 million profit, Melbourne is likely to break even, at best, in a year of record membership of more than 28,000, up almost 3500 on 2006. The Demons' poor financial result includes $2.2 million in combined payouts from the AFL, as well as about $500,000 from the Melbourne Cricket Club. Melbourne, like every other club received a one-off payment of $1.2m from the AFL this year from the latest broadcast rights deal, and it also received $1m by way of the annual special dividend fund. As well the Demons received between $500,000 and $600,000 for playing home games at the Gabba and in Canberra. Melbourne's high staff turnover has proved costly, accounting for a six-figure hit to its bottom line. Gardner said that future appointments, starting with replacements for Daniher and Fagan, would not be compromised by the Demons' disappointing financial shortfall.
  7. I saw Sylvia stumbling out of a nightclub a couple of weeks ago around 4am...this boy has some serious issues regarding alcohol.
  8. this thread is laughable...Daniher prolonged a very average footballers career. Try looking at the performance of the player instead of always looking for someone else to blame. Rhino Ridchards...absolutely 100% spot on. I am continualy amazed at some of the tripe posted on this website.
  9. I would not hesitate to get rid of any/all of the following players Byron Pickett Brad Miller Paul Wheatley Ryan Ferguson Nathan Brown Clint Bizzell Ben Holland Mark Jamar Chris Johnson Simon Godfrey Daniel Ward Matthew Warnock Heath Neville ® Jace Bode ® Shane Neaves ® Daniel Hughes ® Daniel Hayes
  10. One positive, hopefully it is the last game i ever have to see Brad Miller play
  11. Oh dear...is that hard for some people to understand the man has not got a football brain in any sense of the word. no skills, no talent, no awareness...nothing...there is not a chance he will be on our list next year. Has been given more chances than any player i can remember and he has played quite a few games in defense and has been inept 95% of the time.
  12. You have no idea Jaded, your favouritism towards certain players is laughable, for once take the rose coloured glasses off...it's getting boring...
  13. Have to agree with goodoil, every week Jaded has a good old whinge that C.J is not in the side and yet again when he is selected, he is very, very ordinary, same goes with Miller....but as always Jaded manages to put a positive spin on both their games...makes me laugh

  17. Heart alone does not cut it if you want to win a premiership, his ability and skills are well below par. You don't keep a backup player like Godfrey for 8 years. Can anybody name a poorer midfielder who has been on a list that long at any club?
  18. I have no doubt that if a new coach is appointed next year, Godfrey will be a dead man walking, regardless of the depth of the draft. Same applies to Daniel Ward, Nathan Brown, Clint Bizzell, Paul Wheatley, Ben Holland, Ryan Ferguson and Heath Neville.
  19. Same old boring tripe...sick to death of reading posts of others whining about Sewell, Armstrong, Jolly and others who have nothing to do with our club. They should be deleted.
  20. The only reason Godfrey is on the list is because of Craig Camerons inability to draft a better midfielder to replace him, quite a concern i would think. Will play 100 games this year.....unbelievable.
  21. Agree 300%. Chris Johnson has been very ordinary in every game he has played. What is everybody basing this great talent on? His breeding?, Practice match or Sandy games?....when he has represented the red and blue, he has looked well out of his depth. Seems to have a decent kick on him, his awareness is poor, is slow and weak. Would love to see him make it as much as anybody, but needs to improve rapidly.
  22. Jaded, you seem quite upset that Chris Johnson was dropped, can you tell me why? He was awful in the first 2 games.
