  1. This thread is now approaching pre-ejaculate levels. hope the recruiters can just pull all this off
  2. Re Mitchell to Hawks: 14 is a first rounder sydney needed salary cap space, so needed him or someone equivalent moved on. 14 would serve for academy protection if needed. fairly even top 20, apparently. Mitchell wanted to get to hawthorn. so seems like a good get for both.
  3. I think the mods here are 'offensive coordinators' keeping some of the shite people post here at a moderately offensive level. Lets see what he brings. These days, great communicators and teachers seem to be highly valued.
  4. I raised Boyd because he can kick from 50, which is something Hogan struggles with. as people are talking about contract size and his importance to the team, it was a point of difference that Boyd has over Hogan. We know what Boyd is paid. Hogans value for mine would double if he could finish off from outside the arc. I see them as very different players. looking forward to JH's situation being resolved, and everyone getting on.
  5. The thing I noticed today was the setup inside F50. The doggies set up a second line outside the contest - fast hands or by any means the ball was forced to them, and they kicked off a step at goal. I don't know how many goals they got through this strategy. They poured on heaps of pressure. The swans didn't let them get out the back, and slowed the spread most of the day. Think the doggies got the rub of The umpires today. Our aim must be not to 'copy' them, but to play to our strengths and 'beat' them. At the moment we have a lot of work to do on outside speed and kicking accuracy. BTW: How the bulls testicles did Johannason with the Norm Smith? Almost all his disposals were directly to opposition or ineffective.
  6. Would be useful if he could kick from outside 50. Might be worth as much as Boyd....
  7. "Im sick of running in the preseason"..... well, that will guarantee his exit. If he wants to prolong his career he will have to run, run and run some more in the preseason. Apart from Demonland, I wonder who are the 'haters'??
  8. Now Casey are done, do we expect season exit interviews today or tomorrow, and potential list announcements thereafter?
  9. As some have asked: Will H-E or Won't H-E? (boom Tish, was time for a dad joke)
  10. I know what it is - blinking. Not evidence of anything. Until you can describe what he was thinking as he was answering the question, and the ideomotor response (blinking) that it triggered, this ain't evidence. He might of been thinking about Chiko Rolls, who knows?
  11. In all this conversation I don't see too much about what a forward line without Hogan could be - with current stocks. Hulett, Weidermann and Watts could be really interesting as a foward troupe. If Hogan goes around for another 12 months and Hulett and Weids can develop nicely, we could be OK. Hogan playing as the power CHF for the next ten years will be something I would love to see. However, we are not without options in the cupboard already - perhaps 2 pre-seasons away from being very good.
  12. I dislike the fawning over these guys. The club acts like it is holier than thou. The supporters are smug turds that still don't get how wrong this all was. The media think the return of Jobe is a messiah moment. They are people who did the wrong thing. If they have paid their dues, they can get back to work. The club and those in positions of power and responsibility have acted unconscionably and put the careers, and lives, of young men at risk. They should all be held accountable and put to the sword.
  13. If that purple throbber on the footy show has anything on trades, can someone post it? I can't watch that show...
  14. We need a strong marking forward that can pinch hit in the ruck. Dunn should be given a preseason to become this player. He has the attributes, and does not pose the same liabilities that he currently does to the gameplan. He may actually offer more than what is currently on the market - he can out-Dawes Dawes, I'd reckon, and his leadership and experience could be valuable to the young heads in the forward line. One year extension, with the opportunity to be the hit up big kicker that could be really useful to our game plan.
  15. If I remember correctly, they wanted to wait until after the CBA was finalized to understand what was on offer (how much they could get). The CBA was meant to be concluded earlier this year, but it has not. Perhaps part of this non-decision is that this hasn't been resolved yet?
  16. Scott really struggled to get a touch against the seagulls. Rarely sighted until late in the game. But has positive form before this game, so who knows? Salem will be a big loss. Hulett would come in, and Terls, I would think. good luck to Casey.
  17. They could trade Fitzpatrick back to the Dee's for our second rounder. (That really was a joke....)
  18. Looked to get to contests really well, but was a headless chook when in possession. Seemed to have no footy smarts on execution, loved to run in circles, and offloaded to players in bad positions. but he did zip about. Not AFL standard from what I saw of the game. Would see him in VFL.
  19. Thanks for posting something on topic. this 'destination club' squabble should have its own thread.
  20. The article mentions the potential return of Scott Thompson. Whether it is in play or not is a different question!
  21. We traded our pick from this year to have 2 first round picks last year. Got us the Weid at 9 and Ollie at 4.
  22. Reading in the paper all the players Freo are into for this trade period. Forwards, rucks and all sorts. Not one mention of Jessie. I wonder if they would even have room for him?
  23. The AFL needed to make GWS more than just competitive. The have to win the thing enough times to make GWS a habit in the Western Sydney market. Seems to be working!
  24. Thanks, Saty. it can be a massive step up in level to the AFL. Surprised guys like Clarrie just keep on going ( even he was managed). Think Josh is a definite keeper, and showed some really good stuff early in the season. A nice rest, building his tank in the off season and getting ready for 2017 is in order. I think that there is a whole clutch of players that can come through as line-breaking half/back wingers, and another group of guys coming through as grunt inside mids. This should give us great flexibility and options, and should support the Kamaze game style. Just need to build the skills and awareness to reduce the errors.
