  1. Suspect itll go 50/50 Oliver in.. Petty to the ressies... just mho
  2. Totally concur with your thinking here. It had occurred to me you'd be able to change the pace a little over those weeks whilst still maintaining some form of cadence..A longer break might break that... About the only way I can think to describe it is if you were going for a run (game).........and along the way slow to a purposeful jog(break )...then back to running ( game )...back to jogging...then running.. The point being at no time do you slow to a walk. ....Which a longer break would do. Interesting thinking Coach
  3. 2 protected species
  4. Why ? Because the [censored] are a protected and pampered fav of the AFL. AFL white-ants the MFC. Until we get someone in that place that has our back nothing will change.
  5. Im sure hell come good ..but his season is/surely in doubt. Best he rest/recouperate and Id suggest some family time.
  6. Well....quite.. If Hibbo is going along ok...id leave him alone.. When "needed" Bowey ...imho ...becomes the fillip, possibly.. but not necessarily. I would have Hibbo as the preferred player... if not.... then WHOEVER is the next best. That might be Bowey or it might not be. He only got his chance because he was showing form...at the right time. There may occur another player who is knocking at the door similarly. We need to keep an open mind.
  7. Yep..Time and place for everything..and there will/wouldbe times that warrant going for it...but... For a bloke who has an inate sense of reading the ball he ought to be where it will fall. He would be a 100 times more dangerous...and effective.
  8. Hmm.. 🤔🤔🤔 .. something NQR about all this... but what 🤷🤷🤷 Other side of the bye might be revealing.
  9. For mine the question regarding Bowey emanates from his coming into the backline in the first place. He came in to replace injury. .And it worked.. but is anything set in concrete...in footy ? Currently our backline is working the best it has in ages.. So why is Bowey needed...i.e.. is there a crying obvious NEED to bring him straight back in ?... atm ? I would suggest... NO It aint broke...dont fix it. Defence is going ok and meshing better each outing.
  10. I have felt that for quite some period of this season teams have found an extra gear in order to take us on . We were THAT scalp. I sense the mantle has moved to Collingwood. Works for me.
  11. Tend to agree.. Just the one change really. Clarry for Spargo. These old kitties wont have time to lick their wounds before we seal their season. Let Operation: Chris Scotts Head Explodes...commence.
  12. Well... funnily enough , imo, Kitttylitter Park with its not so deep pockets ought to prove ripe pickings for a goal sneak like Kozzie.
  13. Last night shows us even more why the AFL keep the kitties at home as often as they do ( and against whom ;) )
  14. Patrick NotsoDangerfield
  15. Even Chuck Norris...is not Jack Viney 😉
  16. I'll just get some Red, a cheese platter and watch whatever unfolds. No idea what's playing out here. Something's bound to fall through a crack and roll out into view. A bit odd 🤷
  17. Nothing new, always has....nothing to see...move on. The AFL is very clever... keep the minions divided. Its a corrupt state of mind that drives the AFL. Ultimate top of town lads club. They really dont give a toss whilst the gravy train is tasty.
  18. That's just NAFF !! Someone's idea of humour perchance ??
  19. We're living rent free in their heads... They'll be drifting off ....eyes shut .....to.the resplendid sounds of " It's a Grand old Flag....."
  20. Ive been somewhat critical of re Bowey and i haven't seen anything to sway me...yet. He does a lot of clever work....only...imo( my eyes watching) to cough it up with poorly weighted ( and chosen style.. lofted or bullet ) passes out of the back. These are costly. Personally id leave him in the magoos to tidy up this aspect. For mine he's not a walk up start. Thommo was excellent last night...turned back the clock and it all clicked. I think Petty will need a run or two to regain match fitness before resuming in the 1st 22..again.. just my thinking.
  21. I had been encouraged earlier in the year watching our preseason hitouts to note we had a few more strings to our bow. The game was being tweaked, options trialled and the predictability turfed. We looked ok...bit rusty.. but we looked far more dangerous imo. I lamented that come the season proper it had reverted to same same.....same old us. The verve , flair and unpredictability was missing. It all came back yesterday. Hope it sticks around. This is a far far better rendition of the Dees. Still some work to do, especially the sharp end. Scoreline should have read 18:8 Get that sorted and September beckons. Well done Dees
  22. Leave him exactly where he is.
  23. Im still trying to.process this game.. Still organising how friends and family can organise their 'debts' ( 4 bottles of Port and still checking ;) ) Many take aways... For the moment 3 things. 1) fantastic for Adam.. well done lad. 2) Joel....pleasant surprise...and what a day to bring your A game 3) 8:18 .. i mean ...wtf.. Fix it !! Oh a p.s. 4) Simon Goodwin and Co...take a bow.. You Out Coached the Pies 👏👏👏 That wasn't our Grand Final... might give us an idea how we'd go 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Viney....not human ( lucky us ) Today was good. The heart has recovered
  24. Why ... you gunna run out and snag a few !! Fmd.. this lot are throwing it away. 4 very gettable goals.. regulation kicks. Just do it Melbourne.. squandering the ball. Go Dees Go Jack....kick those goals for us will ya ;)
