  1. well..

have to admit Im a little disappointed that Sheeds didnt get the nod.

but thats old hat even now I suppose.. So welcome to the MFC Dean

Take no prrisoners, give no inch please.. kick this team into shape and nudge it along the road to success :)

Treat the players with the respect and condemnation as you see fit.

and its over to you Mr Bailey !!!

  2. Carlton wil be happy to lose. by any margin.. beating them is pointless. Even trouncing them wil be valueless as you know they dont care.

Al lthat might happen is if Carlton get sufficient behind then they might play out the game as a bit of fun al lthe whiles knoiwig the real prize is firmly in their grasp.

if you want to beat carlton on Sunday...beat them where it wil lhurt ..In the smarts dept.. out fox them.. make them win.

They stand to pick up 2 of the best picks should they lose.. but its not tjust that they get them , its that they deny us a better order in the pickings. Its not just about how many picks we might get...its when we have them Seems to escaped so many's thinking in al of this.

Carlton could give a sh!t about being tagged tankers... they want the prize...THEY have their priorities sorted... I hope we do !!

  3. actually... he might not.

As the club seems to be following a distinct agenda here it has only used Garry in an advisory capacity He is not privvy or part of the actual decision itself. If he does know its only hapnestance, not design.

Given his postion in media etc I think they wil have wanted to spare him the occasion of being put on the spot. He cant say what he doesnt know !!

  4. ok...a little lesson in reality for all those with puffed chests and delicate egos regarding the idea of 'tanking'

    No one really cares !!!

Only a Fool wouldnt take the draft pick for the giving.

everyone will say publicly that they wouldnt tank.. would play the straight bat...and then secretly covet the pick and play at 75% to guarantee it !!

The only real F-wits here are the AFL who continually hide head in sand reagarding...oh well..not really enough space here to catalogue it all !! lol

carlton are doing the right thing...by carlton

I can only hope we are doing the same thing.

Trust me doubters... you wont complain when a premiership comes around.. you wont boycott it because we fiddled the books a little, or because we took advantage of a ridiculous situation. Irrespective of who gets the prize it will be the AFL's fault...not either of the two teams playing. Dont buy into their ( AFL ) dilemma. Its dog eat dog...time to bark , snarl,, and roll over !!:)

  5. Not sure if anyone else caught this game. West Perth V South Fremantle.

    here's an image http://www.australianrules.com.au/2005stor...umbyspecky.html

In the Bulldogs line up is a bloke called Paul Mugambwa...or Gumby to his mates. I dont know that much about him ( happy to be enlightened ) other than he's about 26..an African migrant..and lined up for only his second senior appearance for South Fremantle. But hiis guy can play.

Now not for one moment suggesting we annex him..lol.. But If the Irish experiment is now seen as legit.. well we ought to seriously be looking to these lads. Mugambwa's speed and agility was something to watch..his kicking needs a way to go , lol, but considering he didnt grow up kicking a Sherrin from birth like we all did its quite remarkable he's picked up the skills that he has.

If he has a younger brother, cousin.. even pen pal ..they might be worth a look one day !! :)

The mark was a real speccy..Jezza would be proud !! :)

Maybe this is something our new coach ( possible ) might bring to the table

  6. Do i think next year will be different ? Hell yeah !! lol

how so and in what manner ? wel lask me again after the coach is named.

I dont see next year as all doom and gloom at all. We arent a bad team...just not a good team. When fit and running we have much to get excited about. But they would normally being be playing slightly above their weight...at the moment that is.

Tweak the team, prune here, add there. Juggle it around a bit and give it a good kick up the arse..and you have the makings of a good footy team. Give it another year to jell properly..and we could be quite dangerous

I dont see us as being also rans at all next year...just not a real mover and shaker...not yet :)

  7. In case any of you have missed his many interviews he often espouses his maxim that he really doesnt care too much about the losses per se. it how they lose and often you WILL lose before you start setting yourself up for the real wins..the ones that result in a premiership cup. Its not a widely held or agreed to philosophy I take it but it seems to work for him. Bit like Keatings economic ideas I suspect...lol

Sheeds just lives for the 'left field".. not all understand it. After Sheeds tinkers and the side gels.. it storms home. W e at the MFC have not experienced anything like a Sheedy juggernaut...well... except on the receiving end ..lol :P

  8. Should Sheeds be appointed it is unlikley it wil be done in a 'long term ' manner, however than doesnt preclude him from being around 6,7,8 years. Just means everyone is being a bit prudent and realistic about things.

The four other contenders are coaches at best...Sheeds is a "Package"

  9. I'd be far quicker to cast blame at 2nd rate faciliteis before I even contemplated a jumping on the "burn Bohdan" wagon.

I dont hink its so much a fitness guru issue as much as a bad run with injuries and possibly the less than perfect management of it all.

  10. fair call that it "mightn't" be the silver bullet...but it might be. Well to put into context. You dont often get the choice of this kinda talent. Big men moving !!. Past drafts dont seem to have offered up such gems in the ranks of the rucks. Yes , some good talent, but some of these guys are standout.

It the COMBINATION of circumstances which lends weight to tyh eimportance of these piccks.

    1) We are desperate to reinvent our ruck

    2) we will have a good early pick

    3) there is outstandig talent in the big boy dept top be had ..but will go early

it is very unlikely we will get such a choice for some time as we will be better next year and it seems 'taller stock' of this calibre only come around once in a long while.

We do have some midfileders....they need feeding. well they need to be injury free and fit first I suppose. But we do have them.Topping up is a priority..but its behind getting a new tall, even if its unlikely he would do that much in the first year. Keep in mind any real change of fortunes will take 2-3 years.

Yes I agree....its not a guaranteed cure all. But it WILL help.

  11. Something fishy about all this all of a sudden. Point: When Fagan announced he was leaving the club came out and categorically stated that he would not be replaced in the appointment panel as they would wanted someone who was involved in the whole process from the begiining. Then 5 mins later ( well.sorta ) announce Scwabb will be coming on board. Something a bit iffy about this..Who's been telling porkies ?
