  1. Judd won't do that. For three reasons.

    1. WC have more power in this whole thing than we all think

    2. He doesn't want to go to Carlton and lose for the next 2-3 years.

    3. I don't think he is the type of guy to totally ditch the club that gave him a chance and treated him like god. He wouldn't screw them over like that.

If he chooses Collingwood and they can't get something done, he will go to his next option. Either way, WC will get something out of this. He won't enter the PSD.

what real power does WC have?? it wil be told..go make a deal with him or him !! ;)

If he didnt want to go to Carlton why would he have them on his shortlist ?

The past is the past.. Judd is lookig forward. At the end of the day he is not the eagles master, they are just sh!tty that the boot is on the other foot and they dont like it.. tough bikkies !! I think they are dead lucky personally that they will even get any chance at dealing inthis whole business. B)

  2. Despite any yelling and screaming teh real basis of a trade to WCE is an early pick, An early pick plus "something" is the most likely outccome. WCE want some icing as well as cake. They, and quite rightly so ( from their persepctive ) are trying to set the bar as high as possible. Time will tell :)

  3. I agree that in all likely hood Judd wouldnt opt for the PSD; but he can!! And WCE doesnt want to force his hand. A mexican standoff is sort of close.. its just Judd has a gun and WCE doesnt !!! lol

WCE are playing a version of the ol' 3 card shuffle, getting everyone to look one way whilst reality is something else :)

  4. How do you figure that?

His sole reason for leaving Perth , publicly stated, was to join his family in melb, and he wouldnt enter the PSD.

To now impose a further condition is unlikely to be his style, given the Eagles have acceded to his key request.

The rest now is up to west coast to get what they see as a fair trade deal.

You purport that WCE will decide for him where he's going. If that was at all close to the truth then Judd wouldnt be talking to clubs, he'd just go where Nisbett wanted him to go. Makes no sense whatso ever.

He, and he alone is driving all of this, WCE is absolutely and very much a apssenger. Alll they can do is 'react' to what Judd decides and then make the best fist of a trade that they can. if they dont. They get nothing. Its as simple as that.

Despite any real rhetoric Judd isnt really going to care too much (maybe a litle little bit..lol) about the fortunes of WCE now; he's concerned with his own.

he had no hand in where he went first time...you can be bloody sure he is in control this time :)

  5. well..we'll disagree :)

I concede the wobblies have bargaining power etc in respect to possibly appealing to Judd.. But they werent expecting the Clement resignation. Buckley they know about. As good as Judd is they have midfielders who are ok. Sudently they have a huge..HUGE hole in their defence. I'm sticking by my thinking this has changed the map a bit.

Stil everything is conjecture isnt it :)

  6. I think you take the thought of trading Robbo as part of a Judd deal to an extreme here. If Robbo cannot come at a 2 year deal then I agree look to sending him elsewhere whether or not it is part of deal for Judd.

This very true. Robbo is a sideshow, not the main event. events surrounding Robbo may or may not become part of teh overall dealings of the club in relation to Judd but they are not because of it.... Only real similarity or connection is they are both possible trades in trade week..Thats about it :)

  7. Probably one thing that will help us is a good ( as far as it goes) history with dealing with the WCE. I cant see it being protracted or anyone really hanging by their toenails in this. Both parties know the other, both know the 'reality' of whats on offer etc.. Should Judd select us it wil be all over inside 24 hours. Too much other business to get caught up in the minutae !! :)

  8. But imagine how crap we'll be next year if we lose our leading goal kicker and classiest midfielder.

My preference would be to retain Trapper rather than lose him...but its only a preference, not a must have. I too think he might be a different lad under Bailey ( I think a few might be...pmsl !! ) .

Now Robbo.. leading goalkicker. well isnt this a classic case of context. Who was he competing against ?? ..a bunch of walking wounded and some who cant kick straight to save themselves !! Juice came into it late otherwise he would've shown Robbo clean set of heels in that comp !!

  9. Must admit onhearing that I thought...hmm.. the larder is getting thin!! Also tthe wobblies will be more inclined now to look for a defender than a midfielder...well, you'd think !! lol . Clement was VERY good., he's not going to be easy to replace.

  10. this is how it is...or was.. Danniher and Riley played a very conservative and dull game. ( with built in time delay regarding any necessary moves ). The game was all but telegraphed to the opposition before the first bounce and little changed after that. They played a very conservative hand re bringing on the kids. If ever there was a now or two more weeks time type dillem of a decision.. it was nearly always the wait and see. wait and see...wait and bloody see !! Always waiting for the game to come to them, never taking the game head on and deciding its ( demons ) own destiny

In a way I agree with YM.. this will now change.

  11. The one thing thats going to happen this year that didnt last..is trades!!!!! One wayor another...peoplel are moving..picks are changing.. Judd is the catalyst for it. Whether we are his new home or not.. we wont look quite the same next year ( and thank ***k for that too )

2008...is going to be a happening year for MFC :)

  12. Delusional ??

    why ?

Judd has only nominated 4 clubs. we're one of them !!

Essendon looks to be a dud card... Westies dont want to deal with the Wobblies !!

only two teams really have decent early picks they can offload.

Only one team calls the MCG home !!

Now none of that adds up to a dead cert for sure... but hardly ranks us as delusional !!

I'm not fussed one way or other. Gladly have him as not.. I mightnt bet on us...but certainly not against us !!

  13. well thats it isnt it.. at eh end of the day getting Judd is a nicety not a necessity!! Its not as if we wont have a team without him.:)

Far too much is being placed upon his arrival as beinlg like some magic bullet that will fix all and everything. it wont. It certainly wouldnt not help ( delibertate dou neg..lol ) .

Going back to the original title of thread.. Id put it this way..

The choice of club wont so much define Melbourne as a club but Judd as an individual . :)

  14. The only thing I can really add to all of this is..

whilst out to get some milk, ....

I stopped by to speak to Madame Rue....you know that gypsy with the gold capped tooth !!

she whispered something to me before offering me some potion of sorts !!

As the mists cleared in her crystal ball , she spoke....

    A headline..

"AFL in shock as Judd stuns football world by selecting the Melbourne Demons to continue his illustious career....... "

the rest was just murky.....lol
