With you on this one Balls. If Paps gets up and about he can be very dangerous but also we need to keep Guilden quiet. He absolutely killed us in round 23 last year with about 100 possessions !!
Yet we still won despite losing a part of our forward line to an acl

Fantasy ..get offered a free flight to Syd to stay with family member. No ticket to game but go along to the open session to see players. Find out can get reciprocal rights with MCC membership but have to queue from 5pm & hope for the best . Half an hour ago get call from a players parents who can’t make the game and want to know if a ticket is required. Reality.. will now be sitting with the players families tomorrow night. How envious am I but super excited for another Dees supporter to be there
That’s fantastic

Spargo will be part of the new, improved delivery inside 50, or I think that's the theory.
It’s outstanding that he’s usually so efficient with ball in hand
I just wish he’d get more of the pill

Goddamn ‘connections’ is as pathetic a term as ‘culture’
I prefer ‘accuracy’ and ‘hyperbole’

These feel more like dispositions with young blokes down the local cop shop than interviews.
that there were two people involved in the interview and you can see the shadow of the camera person and interviewer in the reflection of the whiteboard is atrocious framing and shows a lack of attention to dee-tail

will it actually happen?
march 23 could change the afl's opinion...

Long as he can find a permanent spot in the midfield I think he will stay, only reason to go would be for more opportunity like James Jordan last year
he's already got a permanent midfield spot imo; first rotation inside
it was interesting that they used him in a defensive role against cripps in the practice game - not entirely sure it was successful in terms of curtailing cripps, but he definitely hurt him the other way moving forward and hitting the scoreboard

Let’s hope that Howes, Laurie and Chandler play out of their skin as one will very likely make way for Pickett the following week. (Salem to a HB flank if Howes were to miss).
i'm confident that salem will play midfield all year

Honestly bumps like this and Maynard's are why there should be a send off rule.
Because if you were an immoral piece of feces you could do this a few times in a GF or to the opposition's best player, win a flag and who cares about the suspension. Even in a home and away game it gives you an advantage as the opposition have to use their sub to replace someone they might not have wanted to replace at a time they don't get to choose.
I'm not saying use a red card willy nilly but in cases like today's...
and, just as importantly, if a player/s is sin binned, you can't use yr sub to replace them

Yeah but you don't have to travel for 30 minutes to get to your car on the way to Geelong and wait for 45 minutes before the car doors open and you can get inside, then wait 15 minutes getting out of the car at Geelong, 30 minutes to get your bag from the boot and 30 minutes to travel back home from your car.
That’s at least an extra 2+ hours each trip. IMHO they'd be mad not to stay in Adelaide.
not to mention the interminable delay of cancelled / postponed flights!
i'm sure i heard on a podcast that they are staying in adelaide this week, which would seem to be a sensible decision to make

i don't think it's going to be 10, but it should start at 6
in other concussion news, will pucovski was sconned second ball of his innings down in tasmania
he needs to be brayshaw'd and medically retired from sport where there's a chance of his head being hit

My suspicion is that the AFL has an ongoing promise to Richmond and Carlton that they will play the first game of Round 1 every year. And the AFL has found a way to stick to that promise.

I think that is now designated "mid year round", or "not round 12 yet round".
There is also a suggestion to rename it "the one after round 10 round".
I believe one of the AFL Commission want it named "the round before I go on my holidays round".
PS: I await the inevitable multiple further suggestions.

That defensive grid (which by the by seemed to be set up to invite the corridor kick) requires many players getting to the right spot and heaps of unrewarded running - particularly from the utility types like Laurie, nibbla, langdon, Sparrow etc.
this was the big call out for me last nite
i think we encourage teams to run and kick thru the corridor as, quite frankly, they're more likely to 'blaze' away which helps our teams with our defensive intercept game style
