  1. Shown very little in two years at the Power. Very good at the lower SANFL level but continues to look like an error prone nervous Nellie at AFL level. His disposal coming off half back has on occasion been okay, but sometimes truly atrocious. Very James Strauss - when he has time and space he's okay but the minute physical pressure goes on him he panics and turns it over. Where's the rumour coming from? I've yet to see it being reported.
  2. Yes, I thought the players utilised in the video spoke volumes too.
  3. i'm amazed at the instant rejection of gumbleton on this board. if he arrived at the dees, he'd automatically be the second most skillful tall target we have inside 50. he has nous, he has skill, he's hungry for the ball - the only thing his injuries seem to have robbed him of is his leap. as a kid he was a hell of an aerialist. whether it's confidence to leap or an inability to do so remains to be seen. if he's recovered from his injuries, as he would seem to be, he'd be a great pick up for the dees. let's not forget that our key forward for the second half of 2012 was a defender his entire previous career. our forward stocks are atrocious. i realise that we probably won't get him - essendon will want pick #13, which is laughable - but i'd love to be proven wrong somehow.
  4. I haven't left the club - still a member, still seen games, still get the kids toys, clothing, etc. But I just don't have faith that we can be lifted out of our current malaise for a long, long time.
  5. No doubt a premiership would avail me of my apathy, but I just can't see how likely that is. I don't rate our list and I remain sceptical about our coaches. Essentially, I desperately want to be proven wrong about our Demons.
  6. Nope, not unconditional. Can't imagine supporting another club - just a fan in general of our great game these days. The incompetence and inability to get the basic fundamentals of being a club right have killed my love for the club. I don't admire them any more, be it the players, the coaches, the staff or the board. I think it's fair to say I'm entirely disenfranchised.
  7. Pick 2, wasn't he? If we can get him cheap enough, he'd definitely be worth a chance for 2 years. It's not like we have any other key forwards on the list.
  8. i remember not too long ago the inner sanctum was talking up cale morton as a centre half forward. let's face facts - we've stuffed up, repeatedly, at the draft, and we've failed to develop players we have drafted. losing scully was a big blow, but if viney does fall into the second round for us it's arguable that we've 'won' as a result of picking up someone such as toumpas and / or wines at picks #3 and #4. however, while hogan makes sense in terms of securing a likely future gun, it's a classic case of robbing peter to pay paul - we lose access to a quality mid to gain a quality tall...and we can't play him for a further year.
  9. Just another fringe player. Should go, adds very little to our list.
  10. it's going to be a completely different mindset in 2013. no 2011 best and fairest winner, no former mark of the year winner, no former skipper. very sad state of affairs.
  11. very, very sad state of affairs. (also, still nothing on the official website. what a rabble the club is that they can't even get an official statement up in appropriate time.)
  12. Watts is a conundrum wrapped in a riddle. He promises a lot but has thus far failed to deliver. He actually reminds me of Andrew Mackie, only nowhere near as hard at the contest. It's that real lack of desire to attack the contest bit instead always hang back that bugs me the most. Thus far in their career, NikNat is miles ahead in terms of what he's delivering, and he's not even as great as the wraps on him would have you believe.
  13. Capable of the miraculous and the awful often with the same touch of the pill. Some of the things he can do are things that no one else on our list are capable of doing.
  14. No way Kennedy is worth #4. There's better players available that early.
  15. Yes, Clinton Young. Can't see Foley or Scotland leaving their respective sides.
  16. If we can bring in Cloke, Caddy / Boak, two quality mids (say Toumpas and Wines) and Viney then our side would have a remarkably different look in 2013.
  17. Anyone extolling the virtues of Salopek needs to have a good look at the bruise-free footy he likes to play. Absolutely not. From the list of those still available: Cloke Goddard Young Pearce Knights Byrnes Are the most likely to be on the move and on demand you'd think. I've totally come around to the idea of Cloke. Costs is nothing other than salary cap - and it might as well be someone who takes more contested marks in the comp that we pay the big bucks to instead of the plethora of pedestrian players that blight our current list.
  18. Been watching this kid since he was 14. Whoever lands him will be ecstatic - skilled, speedy and tough. The only knock on him is his height and that's only because of the perceived notion that you have to be over 6 foot 3 to make it in modern footy, which is an absolute fallacy. Unless we trade it for Boak or Caddy, hoping he slides to that ~13 pick and we draft him. He could be as good as Boomer or Crawford, who started off as a small forward before becoming jet midfielders.

  20. Good stuff. Now they need to teach him to gut-run both ways for 4 quarters. His pace and goal-kicking ability makes him a very exciting prospect.
  21. Ah, Ferguson, he should be with us already...
  22. And Robbie Tarrant too. We just have to hope that Cook comes good, and doesn't become Nick Smith mk 2 like I fear.
  23. Was a jet as a kid, was rated as highly as Swallow. Has been injured or on the outer at GC17 - Bluey is not a fan, but Toy is not a back flanker despite what Bluey thinks is his best position. Lots of questions re his work rate.
  24. well done on a career that few have had. interesting to hear robbo on 360 say he liked melbourne, but he loves richmond. if he had been able to kick more than 35m he would've made a very good footballer.
