Contenders & Pretenders
i think you can throw a blanket over a bunch of teams personally the notion of playing bears up there or the pear at the oval in a final would make me feel nauseous, as would the sound of the filth's braying mob if i had to rank sides as likely contenders at this stage i'd have the order as: the filth the pear the bears us puddy tatts flagmantle footscray crom gc17 peptides aints bloods tiggas gw$ carltank poos&wees kangas meth coke other than the bottom three or four, it's a pretty even competition and any team could surprise on their day it's good for football

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
dunno why this is being discussed in the casey match day thread, but fwiw i thought chin was outside fritsch's line of vision - he wasn't in the square, he was running into it from a fair distance outside, and fritsch was far better off kicking the goal from his position than attempting a handball along the ground to chandler, as he couldn't possibly go over the encroaching carlton player he was in perfect position to kick the goal, and he did

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
i watch casey's every game he was much better earlier in the season when he didn't have additional talls competing in the same role positives based on what i've seen: he runs to the right spots his hands are quite good his kicking shows penetration and accuracy negatives based on what i've seen: he doesn't appear to have much tank he's as skinny as a rake his hangs his head when things don't go the way he wants you're just another hanrahan, typical of too many on this platform that want perfection and only ever look for the negative

Yeah doesn’t impose himself on the game with physicality but always runs to the right spots and is a lovely kick both at goal and around the ground- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
Brown and Jefferson played target roles well and Schache as the ruck-forward was excellent Woewodin and JJ very good thru midfield, and Laurie made smart decisions Smith did a lot well but also a few howlers, while Turner and Adams combined well without having a huge impact It was a quality game- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
lochkart just poleaxed grey- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
thriller diller as a sideshow bald strong mark at chf hits up shache and dees are back in front by a point- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
grey with another after the siren following a lovely pass from schache high quality game of footy- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
southport's ball movement is very good deakyn smith does a lot right but his decision making needs work- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
now THAT was brilliant by jordon intercept spoil at half back, roved the spillage, got it to sestan who fumbled, buttered up, worked it thru a chain with woewodin i think, goal from 55 on the run outstanding- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
height has nothing to do with his body shape, his low centre of gravity, and the sort of player he looks to play like elliott is smaller than either and plays 'tall' by comparison to trac- POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton
- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
sestan's body shape reminds me of the likes of brian wilson or peter daicos - it'll be interesting to see how it changes after a few pre-seasons can definitely see him as a jamie elliott type i suppose fitness will depend on how he can eventually move thru the midfield- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
i know he's a demonland favourite, but i can see why jj isn't a certain starter at a top four afl side - CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
