  1. Pretty much all these. Sort of like a 'walk through' and light hitout with minimal coaching.
  2. Ok another AFL game, can we expect wingers to not be out on the boundaries at least?
  3. I'm in two minds about this. Undoubtedly Jack would have been far better off in the current environment as a youngster but I also don't think his lack of success was all down to being in a basket case of a system either. He's a lovely guy, almost to a fault and never quite had that killer instinct of a Nick Riewoldt or JVR that was probably required to make it big in this league. He had absolutely appalling treatment from media, fans and opposition fans. He didn't deserve it and it certainly didn't help his progress but when I look at the other guys who also started in that same cruddy environment eg. Jones, Viney, Tom Mcdonald it's apples and oranges.
  4. Thanks DeelightfulPlay! This is usually the kind of thing I'd be all over so I'm surprised I hadn't heard of it.
  5. What a day for the kid! Then he accidentally punches Colin Sylvia in the face in the celebration of Yze's goal.
  6. I hope we just play them off the park. Couldn't really give a stuff about drama from last year.
  7. Brisbane's backline doesn't scare me one little bit. Just a bunch of loose zoning and relying on Rich to distribute out of there.
  8. I mean it is true, we are better than them. Maybe it's one of those things where the truth hurts?
  9. What I want is the story of the kid born from around 2012 too young to remember the Hawks flags but their earliest and only memory of playing finals is against us in 2018 bundling them out and then them go 50 years of their life without coming close to winning another flag. Only that bitter memory to hang on to..
  10. Thank you. Every year I want Melbourne to win the flag and everyone else to lose. There is varying degree of dislike eg I would barrack for Sydney against Collingwood in a Grand Final but no-one else has my heart or interest.
  11. Werridee probably did one of these very recently.
  12. Definitely. I think a lot of people see them as our bunny, which is fine but treat with caution. This midfield is going to be a tough test and if we are even 5% off their forwards will score on us. Plenty for our coaches to think about.
  13. “I guess you don’t have to go back too far to the Zorko/Petty incident, that was heavily publicised what went on there, Zorko apologised, and he may have overstepped the mark, (but) 100 per cent (it was coming from the Demons first)." How on Earth do you glean the bracketed from what was actually said?
  14. I must say I was similar, was having trouble getting around the Grundy idea until about the trade period and it still remains to be seen if we've hit a home run. With Hunter I almost laughed when someone here suggested going for him at the start of trade period. By the time we did the deal I'd turned around as it did address a need and seemed lower risk when we gave up what we did.
  15. Thought Gus's game was very underrated on Sat. 10 marks, most of them intercepts and was really composed with disposal. Keep him back for now.
  16. Same here, love playing against Joey Joe Joe.
  17. A reminder that no-one is bigger than the club as well, FD plays the long game.
  18. Good point, I imagine there would be a 'highest act trumps all' rule in a situation like that but that's just a guess. I also wonder if Kozzie's bump could be considered a physical pressure act 😛
  19. Yeah it's open to a lot of interpretation, I'm not sure how quickly they get it done or when they do it but certainly not as simple as counting other stats.
  20. What do you reckon it is that separates Brayshaw from the elite clearance players Deelusions? I ask because I was having similar thoughts in that Saints game but couldn't quite put my finger on it. 186cm and 86kg so he holds his own physically but could it be more of a smarts or instinctive thing? Interested to hear thoughts.
  21. Not a chance he goes out. Gold card member of our backline.
  22. If you can't be confident to bounce back at home with a side like that then that's kind of sad. Had we lost Rd 1 we'd be chomping at the bit for this game and a chance to put things right.
  23. The guys mentioned the criteria for pressure acts, these are the official definitions from Champion Data for anyone interested: Pressure Act (Corralling): The lowest form of pressure a player can apply, where they are simply occupying space in front of the ball carrier to prevent them moving forward, or have a run at them, but not quickly enough to record ‘closing’ pressure. Pressure Act (Chasing): Where a player applies pressure from behind an opponent by chasing. They must be gaining ground or applying pressure significant enough to hurry the ball carrier to dispose of the ball. If the chasing player is on the verge of making physical contact from behind, then closing pressure will be imminent. Pressure Act (Closing): A higher degree of pressure than corralling, where the pressure player is on the verge of making contact with the ball carrier (either from in front or the side) as he disposals of the ball. The key point of difference between this and corralling is that there will be imminent contact and the pressure player is forcing the ball carrier to dispose of it immediately. Pressure Act (Physical): Applying direct physical contact to a player in the act of disposing of the ball or effecting a tackle that prevents an effective disposal from the ball carrier. Point structure for weighted pressure ratings: Corralling - 1.2 points Chasing - 1.5 points Closing - 2.25 points Physical - 3.75 points
