Congratulations Brett Rosebury - games record holder
I am really glad to see some credit given to umpires for a change. That is one heck of an achievement and should be celebrated like any milestone. Good job @La Dee-vina Comedia!

Appreciate your view and for the most part he has been just defending their character and integrity, yes. I've just heard from him a lot this week on it and SEN on Wed night seemed a little too boys club for me. We're not going to gain much more hearing from ex players on the issue in my opinion.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. I've never felt more of a 'scripted' feeling about the media more than this year. In wrestling terms this would be known as a 'work'. Guess it is sports entertainment after all!

My brother is in Japan right now. Might have to put in an order!

I know Kingy irritates a lot of people but he's not afraid to call BS when it's there. Those two have worked well together on radio and there is mutual respect but when things need to be called out King shows good character. And it absolutely is true, the volkano would have gone off. He should have stayed out of this one and if he was pressed on one of the TV shows then maybe a brief defence of Fisher's character in general and that's it. He's commented too much on the incident itself, talking about how hard it is in the moment for doctors and tending to a million things through the course of a game. And while we're on the topic of 'good clubs sticking by good people' Kane, why is your club so hesitant to give the coach a new deal?

PODCAST: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Great show as always but I definitely had some of my own perceptions challenged a bit. I also thought JVR's off the ball pressure was a bit off this week but I took the view that if he was marking most balls that came his way then that stuff didn't matter as much. Of course it does though and I agree come finals it would need to be at a much better level than what we saw. I'd still have him in the mix for that spot but the forward setup is by no means set for finals yet. The Tomlinson stuff I do agree to an extent, he got lost out there on Sun but I do think he's capable of playing as the 3rd tall providing the opposition has height. It's such a shame that Turner got injured because I would have loved to see him in that role a lot more this year. I would just hate to see a situation where May pushes further up and Lever is left to do the gorilla 1v1 stuff, yes we'd also likely have Joel Smith as a sub but he can be flappy in 1v1 contests as well. It's going to be horses for courses there from here on in. Enjoyed thoroughly, I like having my personal opinions challenged instead of affirmed all the time and the level at which you guys study the games is what I come for. Appreciate your efforts. Shout out to @george_on_the_outer for his opening words and thanking Andy for being the one that makes this whole thing happen. It takes an extremely committed individual to produce a weekly podcast to this level of content/structure/audio production and do that on top of work and running a forum, even overseas travel doesn't stop him. It's easy to take for granted because he makes it look easy and I honestly have no idea how. Thanks Andy! *Embarrassing moment over*

Have we officially found our full forward?
That sounds like an HB article for sure! Love his stuff and he's got a great knowledge of all clubs.

Definitely going to have to try this. I'm all about the Pinot/red wine casks. Been meaning to join the Whisky club for years. More than happy to get a decent whisky each month for reasonable $.

If what Zorko is accusing Touk of is exactly what happened then Touk had breached a rule and should miss games. However we're talking about someone with form here and apparently proud of it. Forget the code, forget letting bygones be bygones, forget it could have been accidental (it was a tackle after all) let's go whinge to the first media outlet that will have us as we're known to do. The way he said there was bruising still there sounded like bull but that's just me. I would sincerely hope not. Dane Zorko is the kid that pours salt into your coca cola at a restaurant when you're not looking and thinks it's funny, can be hard to believe people like that when serious.

See I love Starward and you just went blasphemous! 😜 However if you're talking the Solera I'm not a massive fan, much prefer Fortis. I've only tried the 12 year single malt from Hellyers. Just didnt quite see the fuss. Happy to try again for sure. In other news the whisky show is on Saturday 2 mins from my place and I don't have tickets!

Aliir Aliir & Lachie Jones in Concussion Protocol
Last night on SEN Gerard Healy opened with a 2 or 3 minute monologue about AFL club doctors. He made some great points about this not being an ideal profession for these people because you get paid less and much more possible scrutiny like this, he also went on to list the amazing practitioners he's had at club level and still sees as his personal doctors now. Kane then came in and echo'd his statements and they both went on the defend people in these roles and how good they have been and that Fisher was a brilliant doctor who made a mistake and will serve the appropriate punishment. Will choose my words carefully on this because this incident has really stirred things up. I appreciate Gerard's take on this, I really do. It's important we get opinions from people who have been around these people longer than any of us, and these opinions have their place. However with the highest respect to these people, at this point in time and on a very rare occasion, I do not want to hear from ex players on this issue. I want to hear from completely independent sources. Experts in the field, scholars, people who have studied these injuries and written theses on the subject. I want to hear about what needs to happen, what needs to be different about processes, protocols etc. I don't want to hear Kane Cornes saying how doctors have it so tough and have to tend to so many things in the moment and could easily make a mistake by missing a potential concussion and requirement for a SCAT5 test, because to me that just means there is scope for another mistake to be made in future. This is absolutely not a time for the old "You wouldn't know because you never played or worked in a footy club, you don't know how hard it is" routine. No excuses, we need solutions and we need the select few people who actually know the subject back to front to come up with these. Not people with a conflict of interest or sticking up for mates.

Finals preference
Yeah there's something about it that really gets my pulse racing, to the point where I don't know if I want it. That Grand Final week would be really difficult. The highest high of elation in this sport for me would be beating them in a GF, the lowest of lows and pits of despair would be losing to them. Playing them in a QF or a prelim would still be stressful but more preferable for reasons I can't explain. To each their own but give me Port or Bris in a Grand Final anytime over that. Just my thoughts.
